    Not all routers work well with every modem. I have found this out. Check with your provider before investing.

    Brought this back after 2-days, and judging from the reviews on-line I'm not the only one, don't bother with this Router, go for the ASUS!

    Couldn't setup without WiFi, but this was a router that was the internet contact and it made it difficult to set-up!

    Major problems with ethernet connection to pc. Pages never load the first time. I have to refresh 4-5 times, every time, in order for pages to work. In fact, I've had to resubmit this review several times in order to advance to the next page. Wifi elements are ok. I will be returning.

    Although we were told that this was the best unit for over 100M, we can't get it higher than 50M although input is 370M

    Speed Issue

    This router is the worst router I've ever bought, I have to be constantly rebooting it inorder for me to get my proper speed that's coming from my modem. I'm a huge fan of these types of netgear router, this one is a huge disappointment for me. Not saying this router is crap 100% I just get a bad one from the bunch.

    Good range. Parental controls are a joke

    Terrible parental controls - what modern router doesn't come with the ability to set a schedule for an IP/Mac address? Absolute nonsense. One of the recent updates offers this - but with some corny Disney software that the reviews of are terrible (most say it doesn't even work as advertised) AND you get to pay $5-10 per month for software that should have been built into the router.

    Gigabit wired work, wireless is sub par

    This is a good looking router, but has a lot of shortfalls. To get gigabit speeds on a wired connection, almost all of the extra management features need to be turned off. This is due to the necessary hardware acceleration to achieve that speed. Wireless on the 2.4GHz band maxed out at 15-20Mbps on my iPhone's and laptop, 5GHz band at 30Mbps. We reset the device, updated firmware, and tweaked to no avail.

    Be ready to go on a reset frenzy with this router

    I never write bad reviews. But this is one item I just can't recommend to anyone. 300 bucks gets you consistent dropped internet coverage. Fireware seems to always have a update. I've reset this router to factory settings atleast 15 times or more. Since I purchased it. And its currently not working as I write this review. I use to call my internet provider and always came to the conclusion it was on our end the router. Blocking the internet from coming through You can't call customer service unless you get gouged for a additional 70 bucks on customer support. I feel like if you're paying 300 bucks for a router. Shouldn't customer service be free? So with that being said.I guess I'll reset it back to factory settings. And be prepared to do this every couple of months so it seems. And after lookin on YouTube I'm not the only one....

    Doesn’t live up to its promises

    I purchased the X6 as an upgrade from my ASUS router hoping to finally have some solid wireless ability..... boy was I wrong. Constant connectivity issues, extremely buggy firmware, a crippled built-in cloud service and inflated reception claims have left me very dissatisfied with this piece of hardware. Time to start shopping for something else....

    I will never, and I mean never, buy Netgear again. I stuck with them for years, through all the crap they produced; but this expensive router was the last straw. Overheated, shutdown randomly (when not overheating), would drop my WAN connection for no reason I could determine, wireless coverage in my tiny house was horrible. It was just trouble, and when working from home, this is the last thing I needed. Returned it and got an Asus to try (am happy with that).

    Can't get a signal 40 feet away because there was a wall blocking the signal. That's what was told by cable installer.
