    It looks like I am connected. All lights on steady, but there is no internet connection. Tried calling tech support after 2 hours of trying to get connected. This is where I wish I could give negative stars. Tech support sounded like it was from India. So trying to understand their strong accent was half the problem. The other half is their connection was horrible. Its breaking up and could only hear half of what they were saying. I finally had to hang up from the lack of communication. Im taking it back tomorrow and going with a brand that has tech support in the USA.

    Keeps loosing speed and connection to internet.

    On my second Nighthawk 6x. Fortunately I bought the 2 year protection. After the first year the first unit would loose Internet speed having to be rebooted daily and at the end about 4 times a day. The second one has been loosing connection with the internet and reconnecting which really messes you up when streeming videos or trying to order something.

    This item is one of the most frustrating products I have ever purchased from Netgear. The internet speeds were inconsistent at best. The majority of the time my speeds were moderate or less regardless of where in the home the device was set up. The customer support was even worse. Spent multiple hours on the phone with them repeating the same steps just to have them tell me to call back another time with no solution for me issues. On top of that, they tried selling me an extend warranty at the end of the call. I had the device for less then a month and only experienced issues.

    Not sure why this is so hyped up. I came from using a Apple AirPort Extreme which was 100 times easier to set up, update and monitor. A lot of steps to update.... Constantly buffers out, have to reset often. Maybe I should have gotten a different wi-fi router....

    Don't even think about calling tech support! Once you get done trying to navigate their website and attempt to get live help be prepared to wait, wait, and wait while they verify that you still get free support (make sure you have all your paperwork ready you will be grilled). In the end they were no more help live than they were online. Router itself looks cool but don't be fooled,constantly needs to be rebooted and if you have any kind of Smart Home devices, don't even go there. Netgear Genie??? What a joke! Get back in your bottle and don't come back until you can actually grant a wish or at least have a decent GUI that is usable/workable. I'm taking it back and hoping BestBuy will let me exchange it for anything else

    I am very disappointed. don't know if it's an issue with the specific unit I purchased but this router repeatedly and continually drops signal and so I have to wait and wait for the internet signal to re-buffer and it is annoying. The sales associate in the store highly recommended this Unit so for the price, I expected flawless performance.

    I've had nothing but a bad time with this router. I've had it for roughly 1 1/2 years with nothing but constant problems. They roll out firmware updates every couple months and your speed would just DROP. like 3/4 of my gigabit was gone the first time. I had to roll it back to the old firmware. Then they'd release a new version to fix whatever they broke, but the cycle would repeat. Currently, it's the worst it has ever been. Maxing out at 90 Mb/s on a Cat5e connection when I should be pulling 980~ Its a high-end router that acts like garbage and now I'm having to look into a new one, which will not be netgear.

    This is my 2nd time purchasing a Netgear router,,,, Never again. I guess I had forgotten how terrible the first go-around was. Router started out working fine. A few weeks later some oddity occurs... unexplainable... router begins to issue random IP address to every user item in the house...contacted Netgear customer support... very helpful at level 2... but my problem is level 5 and will have to be bumped up to a higher level of service... and at a cost for an annual service contract... so that the level 5 team can un-corrupt my brand new modem and build a firewall so that it doesnt happen again. I bought into that scam 5 years ago.... not this time..... router went back to Bestbuy.... and I will never purchase Netgear again. inferior product and scandalous customer support. Unhappy customer... don't waste your time or money on Netgear product.

    Password incorrect but it wasn’t

    I bought this unit two weeks ago. Two days ago I noticed my phone was not connected to my wi fi. I was then prompted to enter password but returned with incorrect password mssg. After getting incorrect password about 5 times, suddenly It would connect to wi fi (using same password I had been entering). My TVs and computer, however, were connected all this time. Two days later I had same issue w TVs and I am now frustrated. I have since contacted netgear and they don’t even know what’s wrong or how to remedy this. Just a bunch of try this and that. Again I never had any issues until 8 days later. I was excited at first but I can say I won’t be recommending this to friends and family unless netgear resolves this soon, as in now.
