Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router's range, ease of use, performance, and signal strength, frequently citing its excellent coverage and ability to handle streaming. Does not live up to reputation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely disappointed. Got it home, set it up and installed the Net Genie app so I could manage the router. App told me there was an update available. As soon as you run the update, it permanently crashes and disables the router beyond any repair. Had to go to the store and exchange it for a brand new one. This time I called tech support first, who then tells you never to use the app manager because it ruins the actual equipment. They say you should always call network support for any/all updates so they can do it from their end, but then you have to pay $140.00 per year. Also, it didn't fix my problem of internet freezing because I had too many wi-fi devices streaming at once. Total scam!

Poor performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Netgear person for years, so when lightning zapped my previous wireless router (the 1750), I immediately looked for my next Netgear and settled on this one after reading a ton of reviews. Unfortunately, this wireless router is a piece of garbage. I lost about 20ft of range with it compared with the 1750. I kept dropping connection, both wired and wireless! It was slower than the 1750. Overall, very very disappointed in this product. I took it back and got something else.

Not a good choice for parental controls
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router for its parental controls. Yesterday I spent 5 hours on the phone with the Geek Squad and with Netgear tech help because the router blocks the distance learning link from my child’s school website. I tried adding the site to allowed sites, but it remains blocked. Today a higher level Netgear technician told me to just turn off the parental controls. I bought this so I could have parental controls, but now I am told to remove the controls to visit a school learning resource site. I can turn the controls on and off, but I should not have to. I would not buy this again.

Resets on Phones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had several issues with this, the number one being it disconnects from our phones frequently and then continues to say wrong password when we know it is correct. Read reviews on manufacturers website before purchasing!

Not worth the money.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just over a year from having this router and it no longer is working. Constantly kicked off the internet (we've ran diagnostics with our internet company and there are no issues on their end). Of course Netgear is worthless and won't help with anything. I've jumped through all the hoops and can't even get a phone to talk to someone, their website keeps directing me to buy a different product. Worthless device, and even worse company. Do no recommend anything from Netgear.

Do not purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible product and I do not recommend that anyone purchase this product. Netgear releases firmware updates that cap your internet speeds to ~300 Mbps and then it is virtually impossible to get your speeds back, even when rolling back to older firmware versions and their support is terrible at fixing this issue. Many people are having this same issue and are just as frustrated as I am. I would recommend that you research this product more before you purchase because you will likely be unhappy within a year like me.

Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried the router for a few day, but I ended up returning it.. It would lock up and not give out ip addresses.. I would reboot the router and it would do the same thing. I tried installing the newest firmware and hard reset. None of it seemed to help.
