Did not work better with coverage than my 5 year old router. I ended up replacing with the mesh orbi units and they get 5 stars.

I could not get the remote access application working on my iPhone. I replaced a linksys router and gave up remote access. Although the remote access application did not do much it was still better than nothing. I worked on the phone with NetGear technical support for over 2 hours. They did not resolve the problem and they tried to sell me additional support seems NetGear support is only good for 90 days and beyond that you have to pay. DO NOT BUY.

Drops clients when there's a moderate load. I have 20 or so devices on my lan, and this couldn't keep them connected. Had to return it.

I don't think the tri-bands help with signal. We could not maintain a wifi signal with this router.

This is the absolute worse purchase I have ever made. CONSTANTLY kicks you offline, and apparently there is a very common bug that refuses to let you sign in giving you an incorrect password message, even if your password is correct. There are times that I go days before it finally accepts my password and lets me back on. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ROUTER!

I do not recommend the router. Just read the negative comments and that is how you base your decision on buying this router. Just a little past the warranty expiration, the Wifi would drop out about once a week and the router would need a reset. Three months later and its a daily occurrence.

I hooked it up and got it situated. Updated everything and was ready to roll but couldn’t get the download speeds of 400 Mbps that I was supposed to get. Opened the ports and everything and was not getting over even 200 mbps. A friend even told me when I bought it, it was going to have problems. So long story short don’t take a chance on it.

I have att uverse and have had a horrible time recently with wifi dropouts on wifi devices. have 3 levels including basement which houses the att modem. Multiple att visits and still no fix. Finally one of the guys suggested Nighthawk ac1900. Bit the bullet and went for the top of the line X6. Setup is easy, Just plug ethernet cable and let the software do the rest. Set it up as wireless access point. Its looks are out of the world and so is performance. Placed it on main level and now Every corner of the house has connectivity and same speeds. Would highly recommend especially if you have att uverse since the routers they provide are terrible. Note: newer devices with ac including iMac and iPhone 6 perform better.

I decided to up date my router for security and increase speed. Well, for some reason the new router has made web viewing much slower. I wanted to call Negear but the only way to contact them is if you registered your product - which I had. it says I still need to but when I try again - it then tells me it is already registered. They do not give a phone number on their website to use.

First, this is a router that been around since 2014 and firmware updates are few and far between. It also doesn't support the latest router technology. On top of that, I searched reliability ratings for this router and found some at 40%. A Best Buy department lead also told me that a friend of his has replaced this unit three times. At this price there are many good options. This isn't one of them.

I’ve had several net gear products but this one was the worst. After spending hours on the phone with tech support I was directed to return the unit. The problem being that as soon as I tried to personalize the settings the router could not be recognized. I returned the unit alright and got something else.

Second netgear router I bought (had to return the first one), but made a mistake not to return this one as well. Can't handle 15 devices connected over wifi with the speed constantly dropping. Some devices are just get disconnected. Check out netgear forums - a lot of people complain about similar issues, but the support is non existent and doesn't care about customers.
