This router is amazing. It is constantly switching devices around on the 2 5ghz chanels in order to make sure everything is running as fast as possible. I used to download a video game in 8 hours. I now do it in 1. Netflix used to lag and stop and start. Now it runs smoothly. To stream a rental or purchased movie from iTunes used to take a minimum of 30 minutes for the initial load. The movies now start in about a minute and run flawlessly. I do recommend that if you are using an Apple TV, do not upgrade the firmware to version 1.0.2.44_1.0.96. After the upgrade, Netflix on the apple TV would abruptly knock me back to the menu screen when watching an episode of a show. Stick with firmware version 1.0.1.16-1.0.74. It works flawlessly with no issues I have detected. I upgraded and then switched back.

We have had problems since we got it. Items with WiFi not connecting or disconnecting. Now just over a year later it no longer works. Nothing will connect to it. It was a good thing I kept my old router. Hooked the old one up and no problems

Owned this router for about a month or so and it completely failed. We were told the router was hacked and is completely unusable at this point. From there the hackers messed with a Mac and there was no salvaging it at that point. Ridiculous how easily it got hacked for the amount of money.

The expander is always failing to stay connected to the modem/router.

Make sure this is compatible with your modem. It didn't work for me.

Not compatible with older WPS printers. For the money should have had no problems!

When this thing works it works well, but reliability is everything when it comes to connectivity. This router is plagued by poor firmware releases. Drops devices and then are unable to connect. It would be a great device with nice features if they worked.

I had a problem with Netgear on a router a few years ago. However, the Best Buy sale's associate said they better now, so I bit down and bought it. I have had nothing but problems during the first year. DO NOT BUY!

The product did not preform as will as older Nighthawk products I’ve bought in the past. I’ve purchased two of these items, about two years apart, and both preformed poorly. I’m in the process of finding another router. Currently renting a router from my provider.

One of the worst 250$ I spent! This router was great at first when I had 100mbps after switching over to 800mbps this router wouldn’t even hit 200mbps after many calls to netgear technical support nothing was ever resolved! Don’t buy!

We are constantly being kicked off of our home WiFi on phones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs. I just wish my husband had returned this when it was still in the window to be eligible for return.

The range was worse than my existing nighthawk router that was two years old. Also kept resetting itself and wi-if calling, which I rely on, would drop. Returned it back and I am using the old one for now.

It was a very bad experience owning this router even for few days. My wireless devices would get disconnected and when I try to get back on the wireless, just kept asking me SSID password. I returned back to bestbuy. Bestbuy is great about returns. I replaced it for a Asus router. It works fine so far.

Had to call customer service through Netgear to get it to work. Still have wifi drops.

I had to return this unit because it would not cover my 3400 sq ft space.

have not been able to install it, not sure why. and have not had time to get help.

Hugely inconsistent speeds, buggy software, and borderline incompatible with iOS devices. If you are going to spend THIS much money on a router go with ASUS.

Difficult to set up home network so everybody was on. I'd get one TV or computer on, then lose it again later after putting another on the network. One computer we were never able to get back on again. I'm definitely not a "techie" and it shows. Salesperson said just plug it in and it should do everything by itself.
