Unable to easily manage permissions and user restrictions. Net Genie is not user friendly and did not allow me to pick and choose users to set limits without complicated steps.

I have 20 plus devices on my network at all times I purchased this and it handles them all flawlessly, no lag, no drop in connection at all and it automatically assigns devices their own channel and power frequency and seperates the slow devices from the faster devices with smart connection feature. The r8000 is my main router and I use a r7000 as a wired access point at one of the dead spots in my large home and the system works excellent. I am a high tech user and keep in mind home routers are not designed for great range so if you have a large home the use of a second router as a WIRED access point is the greatest benefit to your network. If you set this router up properly it will work better than expected and the genie sfrtware is excellent and a great benefit to the system.

I wanted to give this a shot since Roman Reigns told me to. I was very displeased. Roman was mad that I didn't like it so he speared me straight to prison

This router had everything I needed. My other router would not allow my family to game and stream at the same time without introducing lag to the experience. The Range is awesome. I now can get full signal strength in basement while my router is on the second floor of our home without using an extender.

I have Time Warners 100 Mbps service and have had Apple Air Port Extreme that only can give me 50 Mbps max (failing down to the slowest device in the network). After upgrading to NetGear X6 I have my 100 Mbps back, even when I have as much devices as below in the network: 1. 8 Android devices (phones and tablets) 2. 6 Apple devices (phones, tablets and MacBooks) 3. 3 Windows (2 Windows 7 and 1 XP :) 4. 2 Linux (Ubuntu) boxes 5. 1 Apple TV 6. 1 PS4 7. 1 Amazon FireStick Everything works perfect, streaming videos, kids watching shows and VPN’ing to my work - no problem at all. I did have some problems with ReadyShare that were quickly resolved by NetGear support (it took about a week they give me customized firmware). Overall - if you have a mix of devices, from 2.4B to 5.0AC - that is the one you are looking for.

Fast, Stable, Great Range, Looks Cool

I replaced my Wndr4500 (N900) router with this one. Where I noticed the difference is when I stream movies from my media server while gaming. Using the N900, my movies would glitch and freeze if someone was gaming at the same time so I had to copy the file to usb and physically move it to watch a move and game. With the x6, I can stream and have multiple gaming systems on without interruptions. My household was able to stream a MKV file, have two PCs playing Titanfall and play COD on XBOX One perfectly. So far I have not experienced and drops or issues. The SMART Connect on the 5ghz channel also works well. Before this purchase I tried the Linksys AC1900, but it was dropping and eventually overheated and shut down. Knowing this is SU-MIMO, my only fear is that I'll want to upgrade to MU-MIMO when it becomes available. I am also interested in seeing how good DD-WRT works on this when it becomes available. I am using this in conjunction with my old N900 as a wireless bridge to connect my systems downstairs (Direct TV movie downloads and guest network). I'm not sure if I really need this setup, but it's cool and I feel better using my N900 since it was such a great router too. It also worked well in cascade mode, but again I really didn't need to. I helped take the load off the main router with my media server plugged into it if you feel like giving the x6 a break. Again, not necessary, just cool.

    Excellent Tri-Band Router

This is excellent Tri-band router from Netgear. This router handles more than 18 devices and smart connect automatically connects to good connection speed depending upon the location in your home. The range and wifi speed is really great. Netflix and Amazon Prime working flawlessly without any buffering. The only issue issue with current firmware is missing Dynamic QOS function and Netgear will be releasing the firmware soon to address this. Please make sure you download and install the latest firmware for solid wifi connectivity.
