Excellent device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great bandwidth management, fast wireless access over the multiple antennas. The Genie software mimics the web interface and makes it easy to understand. Would like to see improvements on the printer share feature though. Great for hooking up an external hard drive for a shared data environment too.

Might need a Bachelors Degree to work it...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right out of the box, it is up and running, but to take full advantage of all it has to offer.... read into its options. I can kick people off of the network at any time. Set up a Guest network for friends with a time limit for friends that swing by. Overall a good product.

Price?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, works as advertised. Great range on multiple devices!! The price for this product is way to high!! $199 or even $99 would be a better price point!!

Full of features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this unit today and so far I am pleased with the administrative features it offers. However, it does NOT have a schedule feature that shuts access down for certain devices during certain times of the day. That is my only complaint that I have with this device.

Want wireless? Buy this. Otherwise buy anything.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had routers in my life...from D-Link, Edimax to Cisco....and all I can say, from the wireless power point of view this one rules. My computer now has 500-600Mb constant all around my house (2600sqft) and in any corner of my yard (8000+sqft). The installation was as easy as drinking a glass of water. You answer some questions done. All done. I use it as access point mode (which was recommended automatically by answering the questions) only for wireless (that's why I bought it).

Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router in May 8 2015 and as of March 28 2020. It still works that fast and smooth like day once I just love this router much. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in market to buy. This can be good use for apartment, house, and also works well with businesses. I love all the feature it has and can set all to WLAN port with much more customizable.

Better than ASUS , Works well easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tend to like ASUS Routers. But there latest does not auto update and had connection issues and made my connections slower. Was not impressed. Had very high ping. Exchanged for the NetGear and much much better. TriBand and works well onling gaming and using Netflix streaming all at same time with mutliple connections. Much wider boradacast of signal as well

Amazing Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router just trying to see a small improvement in my Wi-Fi speeds down in my basement. With my original router I was lucky to see 6Mb/s downstairs and this router more than delivered. I am now seeing 45-56Mb/s down in my basement. I was not expecting this much of an improvement in the network. I mainly use this for my gaming. Playing Destiny on my PS4 no issues at all.

Great for new, cozy homes, not for old homes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just want to post this for people with old homes that have range issues: if you are in doubt, this router does NOT solve the problem. Backstory: I'm a previous IT admin / network engineer that has since become a software engineer for a major tech company. Have been trying to solve the age-old problem of good wireless coverage in our 110 year old home for some time, and decided to purchase this router and do some testing. Our home is 1000 sq ft, lath and plaster construction, plenty of old paint, concrete, mirrors, etc. I attempted to place the unit centrally in our attic, and ran diagnostics from a new MacBook Pro with iStumbler. Long story short, this router is a fantastic choice for short-range wireless needs, speed concerns when using modern construction, etc. I do not have anything against this product in the slightest. However, you are still going to have range issues if you are trying to use this as a substitute for a mesh networking solution -- sadly, even the high powered antennas won't save you. I am not looking to purchase a 500 dollar solution for spotty performance, so will need to wait until that becomes a truly cost-effective solution. Just wanted to drop this note for others doing their research. Cheers.

Started out as a great product but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product on 7/17/15 and everything was working without issue. Just right outside of the 90 days phone support the router won't allow WiFi speeds greater than 3Mbps and it was very intermittent too. When hardwired no internet at all. The software was updated and even cycled the power too. I also called my internet service provider originally and they came to inspect their equipment but nothing was found at fault. I called NetGear and to end a long story short the Service Adviser only wanted from me was my credit card information to pay for a service which hasn't been completed, wouldn't provide me a RMA number so I can return the product for replacement and wouldn't allow me to speak to a supervisor. Also due to their faulty product while under warranty, you have to pay for the shipping yourself. I filled a complaint with the BBB and hope this issue gets resolved. I never had an issue with NetGear until then and I considered myself a fan but now I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANY PRODUCT OF NETGEAR to anyone. I did some research on this product and seems other consumers have had the same issue with this and other routers right after the 90 day mark. Many other complaints about their consumer service too.

Speechless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pricey, but you get what you pay for! For all the peeps having problem with centurylink service this is the solution for your slow internet. I was paying for 40mbps and using the centurylink wireless modem and it was super slow. So I decided to get this netgear nighthawk x6 & now I'm getting 40+ mbps. I am very happy and satisfied with this item.

Many downsides
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this because it was hyped to have great range and speed. Replaced a Linksys EA4500 that died. This cost about 3 1/2 times the Linksys, and it gave me the exact same range in the house, and I certainly could not tell the difference in speed. I have been a long time Linksys user, and I depend on Remote Desktop to connect from office to home, and back. I have set up many Linksy routers for the same purpose, and I have only had a problem if I DID NOT PUT IN THE RIGHT information. I checked and double checked this, but it would not work. Finally, I connected via CHAT with Netgear tech support. After 3 hours with two different support people, I came to the simple conclusion that I knew more than they did, and it still would not work. I then got a new modem/router combination from Comcast Xfinity, hooked it up, set it up with port forwarding, and it worked perfectly and immediately. Bottom line: NOT WORTH THE PRICE, and their TECH SUPPORT STAFF IS CLUELESS. Best Buy was great at taking it back, another reason to shop Best Buy.

SUPER FAST!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to connect my new Spectrum connection. The router connected and setup within seconds. Once we had the router connected, the Genie allows a quick and easy setup and configuration of all bands. By far the easiest router setup I have ever experienced.
