    What happened to Netgear.

Netgear used to make quality products but for the last three years every one I have tried has failed to be even mediocre. First the user interface and software is the same it has been for a decade and it wasn't that great ten years ago. The software was so buggy it could not customize client identification or remember my settings. This means you can't accurately identify what or who is using the router. Also, range is terrible. Six antenna's and it does not compete with the average wireless router it was supposed to replace. If this router came out yesterday I would think, "Hey its new they will fix it with a firmware update." But its been out for three years so there is really no excuse.

I have used Linksys routers for a long time and was interested in trying something new. After a frustrating day of trying to get the Netgear router to work with my ISP providers modem/router I gave up and returned the Netgear router and got a Linksys Router which works great with the ISP modem/router.

Dont get me wrong when it's working it's great BUUUUUTTTT, every single time something happens with my internet (like power goes out, modem loses connection, etc) i literally have to start from scratch...i have to reset my router and reconnect everything that was previously connected, and trust me it's a lot of things! insanely annoying and will be going to back to Asus from now on.

I purchased this router to replace an ASUS AC3100. The Netgear had a relatively easy setup, minus the forced "Armor" endpoint security, but failed to maintain connection. The ASUS was still going strong but the Netgear was difficult to establish and retain internet connectivity

I purchased this router to replace an older outdated one. Came home, removed the old router, connected this one and then I was never able to get it to function. Spent a good bit of time troubleshooting. I was told the issue was with my ISP. However that didn't make since being I could just plug in my old router and it would work perfectly, or I could bypass the router and it would work perfectly. I ended up returning the router and purchased a different one and as expected it worked right of the bat. This is the first time Netgear has given me issues but I refuse to spend good money and have it not function properly.
