This is the second Netgear router I'll have to replace in under a year. Years after my first disappointment, I picked up the R8000P after reading stellar reviews. Some 6 months later, it requires a restart every few days at a minimum. Range and speed has dwindled even when it is working. Just search R8000P and you'll find many similar complaints, and yet no firmware fixes in sight. I'll NEVER buy another Netgear product again!

Woke up to ethernet and all ports with no connection. Tried reinstalling firmware and hard resetting the router and nothing. I feel like netgear is taking advantage of its customers at this point. When you spend $300 on a router you expect to receive a quality piece of equipment and this is not the case. Avoid Netgear like the plague unless you plan to buy a new router every yeard

Avoid Netget, Customer service is HORRIFIC!! The router keep resetting itself for no reason, Full factory reset out of no-where! Been on the phone wioth support 6 times and keep getting disconnected, The take your phone number and promise to call you back BUT NEVER DO! The reset problem is a KNOWN ISSUE and they still cant fix it AVOID THIS ROUTER AND NETGEAR PRODUCTS!

Router is complete PoS. I could go on and on but all you really need to know is that if you power off, lose power or reboot the router it reverts back to the factory settings. Netgear support is useless and any new firmware versions make things worse instead of better. This thing may get used for target practice because I wouldn’t want to sell it to my worst enemy.

An associate said this was what I needed to extend WiFi but actually it was more suited for gaming. Kinda wasted my money

spent a year trying to get expected speeds. only get about 10% of your input through this device. :(

Unfortunately with Netgear Reputation, this router sucks big time. I got single colonial family house, but yet it didn’t cover most of it, so I had to return it. Think twice before you purchase it, the only advantage is that you get to have control all over your connected devices from prenatal control to screening history to each device separate.

Works good when it wants to. Gives me issues with updating it

It was working fine for one year, then all of sudden it broke. Stopped working. Called support, and they advised it is after one year warrantee period. $350 down the pipe in one year. I think the normal life span of an electronic product should be longer than this. I was disappointed.

Every netgear product I have had has been cheaply made and this router is no exception. The plastic seems cheap and the antennas feel like they will break off easily. It also would drop internet repeatedly. Even devices that were connected via ethernet.

i gave this 9 months. it consistently drops iphone connections. recently updated firmware. now all my devices experience frequent failures to load webpages. I unplugged and am using my Linksys router I used to use. no problems. this was a waste of time and money.

I Was hoping that this would help my reception, and it does. However it needs a hard reboot at least once a day. Unfortunately for me I forgot about the 14 Day return policy. My bad. If it keeps up I’ll buy something else. Expensive mistake.

A couple of weeks after purchase device will not turn on. It was two days outside of bestbuy return period so I am going through netgears process but it has all been a hassle. I'm still awaiting a resolution but for the price of the device to have a hardware issue that soon is dissapointing to say the least.

Do not get this router from Netgear. This router had been working fine for about a year. Then after firmware was updated for security reasons, I need to reboot the router almost 2 or 3 times daily because of dropped packets or just no internet connection at all.

I replaced my Apple Time capsule Wifi with the Nighthawk. The good I did get better bandwidth. The bad news it keeps "vanishing" i.e. my mac's do not find it. Secondly, I also found that DNS resolution takes longer hence the page load start time takes more time.

I wanted a bigger faster router so I purchased this one. I could not get it to work no matter what. I have used NETGEAR routers for a long time and have had no problems until this one. I returned to to Best Buy with no problems, no questioned asked.

Speed is not the case. It is slow... Slow to load. Slow to view. slow,slow, slow

First of all it was too expensive. 2nd took hours to set up even with the help of netgear. Lastly, we have to reboot router everyday for a week and rebooting would loose all the set up so more hours on phone to get it back online. We returned it after 4th day,

Nighthawk died on me at night less than 2months from porches , it was pronouns dead at 6am

Seen a little improvement on wifi but not as much as expected. Waste of money.
