Short life span

The first one I bought lasted for about 4 or 5 years, but this one...1 year and like 4 months. The wifi worked fine and was pretty fast, however, the LAN ports started being buggy. I would get disconnected, Webpages had to be reloaded like 3 or 4 times to get it to go through. I checked firmware updates, factory reset, reset setting back to default. For spending close to $300 for a gaming router, the life expectancy should be much better. Also, the NightHawk app is terrible and not user friendly at all.
