The router is great. The factory resets are not.

I may have gotten a lemon product, however I believe Netgear's quality control should have caught the issue. I bought this router, took it home and configured it with a new SSID and password, allocated bandwidth to a few devices and did speed tests. All was working well for a few weeks, then I had to unplug the router to clean and reorganize. I powered it down using the power button, unplugged it from the surge protector, discharged it, and set it aside. When I reinstalled it and powered it on, it did not retain any previous settings. I flashed it with stock firmware from Netgear's website and reconfigured it with my settings. This time a saved a .cfg profile just in case. I powered it down and up again with the same result. Basically the router would flash to factory settings whenever power is turned off. Great router if it never ever turns off. Hard pass from me.

None of the kids complain about lag while gaming... so it must be working very well! Disney+, YouTube, Netflix on a 4K TV all working great. We have 3 gaming systems running at the same time, along with a streaming TV.

Awesome WiFi5 router I upgraded from the 3200 to the 4000. Hasn’t really given me any issues so far. Product lets you link the netgear nighthawk app to configure settings and control devices.

I can't speak to the routing capability because I use this in bridge mode as a wireless access point. But what I can speak to is that I have excellent wifi coverage throughout an entire 2-story 3800 sq ft home!

This device allows us to give priority to some wi-fi devices over others. A negative is that when it needed reset it did not retain priority settings.

This router is a great investment. I’ve had this one for nearly a month and it’s been wonderful. It offers plenty of security like I’ve never seen. It alerts you everytime a new device is connected to it.

Purchased but had a faulty one. Exchanged without issue, works like a champ. Download tests wirelessly is pulling 250mb on a 400mb connection. Good to call support to help get off of some of the factory settings to make it a bit more efficient

Wired i get 250 mbps wireless it pushes 35-40 mbps max. Not a great wifi signal. My older router would push 130-140 mbps wireless and 250 mbps wired. Usually i buy linksys but they didnt have one i needed so I bought this one. It was an emergency and now i remember why im not a fan of netgear because the wireless signals are trash on them.

With a family of 3 gamers, over a dozen devices, and a repulsion to spinning wheels of doom, it is important to have WiFi that can keep up with our demands. The Nighthawk X6S has been that router for us - the one that can keep up!

I really enjoy that this Router has the ability to prioritize its bandwith. With so many devices being connected at once I like the ability to say which is more important.

This router replaced my aging R7000 which served me well for almost 3 years. I was able to add more devices and not have connection drop outs. This may be overkill for some, but for me and my needs, it continues serve very well.

I was pleased with my purchase of this router. It was easy to setup and provides the coverage I needed. At any given time we have 8 to 10 wifi instruments connected with no loss of signal usually over 500 mbps.
