This Netgear router solved all of my problems.

Will not update firmware!

So here we are a few months in to usage of this new nighthawk only to find that it will not upgrade its firmware. I then find out from the user forums that very many users across the country are having the same issue... but what is disturbing is that Netgear is completely silent! At this point I am considering buying another brand of Wi-Fi router, maybe mesh technology. This problem with the nighthawk router’s seems to have been going on for months now.

Your R8000P can update the firmware manually if you are having issues with the automatic updates. The newest firmware can be found here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R8000P.aspx#download

Blazing Fast...while it's connected

Significant upgrade from before
