    Really like the router. Parental controls suck. The want you to buy add on hardware and software for a subscription. I want comprehensive parental control out of the box having to pay a subscription is ridiculous

    Followed all instructions and approaches and cannot update firmware. Netgear forums show this is common problem. Huge waste of time resetting to factory and trying downgrading, upgrading, etc. but still won't change firmware. Now that have been unable to update for so long might now be compromised by VPNFilter or similar. having to unplug this $300+ paperweight. Will try to get replacement but will not buy anymore Netgear products after buying dozens previously. Netgear support not helpful.
