    This router is advertised to have the ability to download open source firmware to replace the existing factory firmware. This is not true. Neither is the ability to run a VPN on the router; another other option that is advertised and is not true. I returned and will be purchasing another router that does what the box says it does and has the options available that it is advertised to have.

    Another broken thing from Netgear. This is my third router from them. The X8 died after two months. (No connectivity of any kind.) The X6 dropped WiFi. Now my X10 drops WiFi every few minutes. I don't know why Netgear is so popular or how they can get away with selling stuff like this. I have this $263 router, and I can't work.
