Slow speeds.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return. The router had slowed my speeds by half. The hardware looked good; but not what I was looking for when it came down to it.

NOPE, TWICE!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ours just stopped working about 6 mo in. My husband is a tech guy and was able to diagnose one of the ports that died killing all connections. Customer support was difficult and frustrating, though they did offer to send us a new one right away, which they did, and we went our old one back. Here we are 2 mo later and it broke again. We were able to pinpoint the router as when we hook up our old one, everything works fine again. That’s 2 of these routers that didn’t even make it 9mo. DEFINITELY not worth the $300. We’re going to look for another brand and try to get a refund on this one, that’s a lot of money to spend on something that does twice is less than a year.

Issue with 2.4GHz Band
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within six weeks, the 2.4GHz band stopped working. It took two days with calls being dropped, just to get it replaced. There are web hits with this same problem.

Constant resets
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to love netgear products. I bought this to upgrade my 1600 to a much needed and much faster connection. I do a lot of online gaming and right out of the box I had to constantly reset the router. My devices would show connected but as soon and I Pingd my IP it would show disconnected. I reset the router and it would work for a few hours. I verified firmware was up to date and even verified my modem was working by directly connecting. I had to reset this router every few hours and it seems to be a huge issue on their support page. Bestbuy has a solid return policy so I switched it out for the ASUS 3100 with no issues once the firmware is updated. Honestly Netgear needs to address the glaring issues and maybe I would consider their brand again in the future.

Netgear X6s ac4000
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent over an hour trying to make this work. It just would not connect to the internet. The Nighthawk app should be called nightmare app. It made Galaxy note 9 phone crash. And the app froze several times. I tried use a browser to direct connect to the router to fix the problem but no success. I finally gave up and returned it.

Constantly Disconnected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I could give it a lower rating. None of our devices would stay connected to the router. The problem was not confined to one device or type. Signal was lost on TV's, computers, phones, etc. After a week of frustration, I returned it and purchased a competitor's product.

Failed after the Return and Tech Support Window
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router worked great for about three months and then it started dropping the connection with the devices. I contacted tech support and after updating the firmware, it worked for about two weeks and failed again. The free tech support window passed and now I need to pay to get a four month old product working again.

Never again
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literally one of the worst routers ever. The firmware on this thing is garage. Never updates when it’s supposed to even if you reset it to factory settings. I used it for gaming but it’s given me more headaches than it’s worth.

Don't waste your money. Constant headache
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible product. Constantly dropped internet. Wouldn't update firmware. Netgear tech support a nightmare to deal with. Problems were never solved. I took it back and got my money back. These are known issues from 2017 and Netgear refuses to solve the issue. Will not ever own another Netgear product.

Better than older router but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one still cuts off between 25 to 30% of my gigabit internet through Wi-Fi. I am learning how to live with this. While I never experienced 2.4Ghz channel drop and disconnect as was described in many reviews, a week ago I woke up just to find my smart house being dumbed down by my router going back to factory settings overnight and wiping out all my customization! If this happens again it goes back to the store...

Garbage
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Netgear support is awful. They have a bug that breaks the firmware and refuse to fix it. Check the forums and you will see loads of people havitthe same issue. Router is 2 months old and doesn't work. Do not buy anything from them.

Junk...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wi-fi speeds were slower than my spectrum router. I was getting 300mb/s with spectrum router. I was trying to maximize the best possible wifi connection by upgrading my router. It looks impressive, but don't be fooled. This Asus router was putting 20-40mb/s wi-fi speeds, even after firmware update. Returned. Don't waste your time and gas for this junk...
