Was time to upgrade from my Netgear R6300 router to the R8500. With the 2 5g channels, I have divided the use up so all get fast speeds. Also, the new router goes a lot further on the 5g channels.

Excellent Range. 3000 sq ft home and reaches all of my 15000 sq ft of property with no issues. Easy to configure and has an easy to use phone app.

This router is an excellent buy. With a family that uses multiple devices a high speed with enough band width was necessary and this one delivered.

This router was easy to install and it allowed me to stream movies faster on my Ultra HD 4K television. It was also excellent at improving the range to my detached garage. Very powerful!

First off let me say this netgear X8 is awesome!!! I can stream 1080p movies with no buffering. Using Speedtest.com I'm getting 228mbps download speed over wifi. It's insane!!!! Must buy!!!

We are using this for WIFI at our Fire Station. Usually has at least 11 people using it for laptops and streaming devices. no issues at all. never bogs down due to use. Highly recommended

Downloaded router type needed from cable website. Asked clerk which one I should get and he mentioned 2, this one was on sale, so got this. It was pricey, but has done the job perfectly

We needed a new router and this one was recommended by the sales person in store. They did not steer us wrong. Easy set up and works perfectly.

This router blows away my previous router. With two kids streaming all their shows, my old router was not up to the task. This new router handles that and many other connections easily.

I have Fios in my home but the router was located in my house several rooms away from my smart TV. I needed an extra boost for Netflix and other apps to function properly. This did the trick.

The signal strength and range is excellent. The set up is not difficult, but some of the more advanced settings are a bit difficult to navigate since the documentation is a bit sparse.

my connectivity has never been better.I am able to connect in rooms I never have been able to. No longer lose connection or have to reboot the router. Should have bought this sooner

I was having trouble with my comcast wifi signal dropping but when I installed the nighthawk my signal strength improved and now I get signal all over the house. This is a great device.

The real test was when we had a movie on and had two boys playing Xbox. The router didn't miss a beat .

This device changed our lives and internet usage. If definitely sped up the service and seems to have opened the band width a little bit. No more complaints that even the email is slow.

The router allows use of two radios - each dedicated to a single "user (whether computer, Roku, etc.). All other "user devices" must share a third band. For me, this means my laptop and Roku operate very quickly, without interruptions. Everybody else is fighting for bandwidth, just like it was back in the Wild West days (you know, a couple years ago). Even better, the router looks like it went through Love Canal before coming to my home - instead of the "normal" two antennas, there are four (looks like the couple extra ones are growing out of a place that shouldn't have antennas). Very high-tech in a mildly disturbing way. But, fast. Really, really fast.

Apart from the price that is a little bit on the high side, this router is well worth every penny of it. Wireless connectivity stays up and wired connection are very stable also.

Best Wifi router we have had for the house. Range will carry into our garage and covers the entire house (approx. 5,400 sq ft). Handles multiple users while still sharing bandwidth.

I found it very easy and simple to install. Now our WiFi reception is much better. Even when we're sitting at the pool, which is at the opposite end of the house from the router.

Set up was a breeze. Up and working for about 4 days. Then lost one of the 5G bands (it has 2 5G bands). Reset.....Online troubleshooting......called tech support......ALL FAILED TO FIX the issue. Tech support was raised up 3 levels and spent about 90 minutes in agony trying to get better help. Finally the last person understood the issue, we tried a few things, but. The end result - return the item. Very odd that it worked fine and just died in a few days. Bought a 2nd unit - been working fine for the past 3 weeks.
