This router is a great upgrade for those who have the devices and understanding on how to use it. It is not a Prug n Pray item. Basically it has 3 Wifi signals, Most will use the 2.4 Ghz and you can load balance 2 different 5 Ghz signals. Gets reasonable range. Think about it this does more data transfer than a Sonicwall or alike 10 years ago at the fraction of the cost... Have not even got into the router features yet... it is a great Automated Home router... yes you may still need to "repeat" some areas, but that will always happen. Good solution for under $400.

The Nighthawk Netgear router works very well. I have been using it for over a month now with no problems. The range works throughout my house.

Very fast is my NETGEAR - Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Tri-Band Quad Stream Wi-Fi Router - Black had it for over a year now.

I have noticed improvements in connectivity but I lose connections more often than I ever did before on my single band router with the same connected devices. My home is a smart home with roughly 30 devices connected so I use the tri-band to my advantage but still have connection issues. I've restarted and reset the router but same problem. Support so far does not have a fix and they have advised against updating the firmware for some reason. I'm happy with it but would like to figure out the issue I mentioned. 5 stars if that was not happening.

I have a large home and I get great reception even in upstairs rooms and I have lots of devices connected to it and the speed is still great.

This is great piece of equipment for what I paid for itNd by jzit takes care of all our internet needs.

I really do like this router, but with all its praises sung to me I don't see the results. Maybe I need to call their tech support. But I was told over and over how it would be no problem to get a fantastic signal and power to all areas of my house. Granted my house, as I have found out, has lots of firewalls as it was built on top of another house, but I am still not getting a great signal where it matters most, my kids gaming room. I'm going to make that call. Maybe its my internet provider to begin with that is limiting our result. Just not sure.

Yes, this is a very expensive router. Is it worth it? That's questionable. The unit is also MASSIVE, so make sure you've got room. Easy to setup (as is normal for Netgear). Good speeds, but I'm not sure the "active" antennas make a difference for range (at least in my situation).

I got this router while I was thinking of having to have a booster or second network to cover my entire house. I heard about this router and even though it was pricey, bought it and installed it. Now I get 5 bars of WiFi throughout my 2 story house and even into my backyard. I don't normally write reviews but this product was worth the review and well worth the price.

I don't know who you are, nor do I know anything about you, but one thing I DO know is that you do NOT want to buy this router. I bought this as a replacement for a 7 year old Linksys router, which was working but wasn't able to handle the demands I was placing on it any longer (I have multiple devices which stream content as well as a home office). Setup on the Netgear was easy! Within 15 minutes I was enjoying speeds and coverage in my home that I had never seen before. Then 4 hours went by and I lost all connectivity to the internet and the router itself. I checked the router and noticed the power light was a solid amber, and the device was constantly restarting. A quick Google search revealed that this meant the router had a hardware failure. I returned this to Best Buy and opted for a Linksys - EA9500 - that's the router you should get if you are considering this one. Definitely don't buy the Nighthawk unless all you want a big rectangle that has glowing lights on the antennae.

More than even signal power to cover the house. Priced a bit high, but definitely worth the money to me.

Purchased recently to upgrade different brand. Well pleased with ease of setup and over all performance.

I was initially concerned with the set up, but found the device easy to install. Signal strength is very strong, better than I expected.

I finally got a router that covers my whole house. Sadly i boigh two others within 40 days thinking they could do thr job before i found this.

This is my second X8. I have been highly satisfied with netgear and this model. I needed MIMO capability because of the number of wireless items I have and the tri-band option has not disappointed. I purchased the second one to expand coverage to back of my house and yard. The netgear software allows you to connect the second router as an access point and fully integrates into you network, creating your own mesh wireless. If you have a lot of wireless items and they are capable of MIMO, this router will serve you well.

bought this to replace netgear cable company router. slow speeds and buffering were issues with wi-fi before,not anymore. easy set up also

The router works great. With my other router, my internet didn't work well....the signal was lost a lot. This router does not lose the signal.

Nothing could have prepared me for the speed and quality of this router...definitely recommended!!!

Needed something besides extender to reach guest house. Tried several top end models. This one surpasses them all in range. Highly recommend.
