Good but not outstanding
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am replacing my ASUS router with this one. I have a huge home, that requires a powerful solution. This router does the job, but not amazingly better than my ASUS. I live in a 5700 sqf home, and the coverage is OK, but nothing impressive like other reviewers mentioned in their assessments.

Zero problems with connection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were having issue connecting to the wi-fi. We had a lighting strike which blew the old router. Went in to Best Buy and asked the salesman which was the best. The new router was bought and hooked up and now over the last few months we have zero issues logging in anywhere in the house.

works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A fit of a handful to set up initially, support phone number was not available (via the software) until the unit was set up..?? Gives me a bit of extended range but, I bought the most expensive one in the store expecting more.

Awesome Tri Band Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely increased the signal in my house. With this, I have decreased the "buffering" I encountered when I would download and stream videos. That is no longer an issue. Five people using hte internet is no longer an issue.

2 units, 2 hardware failures (netgear confirmed)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this as an upgrade to my nighthawk 1900 to give better bandwidth and coverage to the growing number of phones and devices in the house. I struggled for a few hours with Genie/routerlogin.net to set up the first one and finally got it working, only to find one of the wifi channels went out. Then the next morning, the device had a red (Amber) power light and nothing worked. Netgear support was great and confirmed a hardware failure, recommended I get a replacement. I did, from the same best buy store. 2nd device, I called directly into netgear to get help setting it up. After 2 hours will less than experienced support, we got it working in Access Point mode. I left the device running for a few hours. Then shut it off for the night. When I turned it on in the morning, "dead". Amber power light, no wifi channels and the wired ports failed one by one right before my eyes. Netgear support confirmed another hardware failure. Luckily I got the same rep who confirmed the first hardware failure, he remembered me and apologized, told me I should take the unit back to Best Buy, so I did and got a refund. I suspect that Best Buy has a shipment of faulty hardware or alternatively that this device coding/hardware is flakey. Too bad, specs were good, but 0 for 2 tells me "stay away". Note: this may be why there are polarized reviews. If there's a batch of bad hardware out there, it's easy to see why there are so many 1's. If the hardware I had would have worked more than a few hours, I would have rated it a 4 or 5.

Decent router, great interface
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router works as expected, nothing mind blowing when you come to expect the speeds you're supposed to get. I am impressed with the GUI though, easy to setup and find options for certain settings like port forwarding and connecting external media to it.

Awesome Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our router was unable to keep up with the demand of all the internet intense technology in our home. After much research and consulting a very knowledgeable Best Buy employee, this is the one we purchased and have never regretted it once. Thank you to that employee's help.

Quit Broadcasting After 2 Months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed in the longevity of this router. It is easy to set-up and has excellent range but the unit quit broadcasting on the 2.4 Ghz after two months. Thankfully I had the protection plan from Best Buy.

Excellent Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid router. It has more than the minimum set of capabilities that one would expect from a home router. The ability to combine 2 of the 5 Ethernet ports to a single logical port allowed me to double the band-width to my NAS. Very happy with this purchase.

Works Well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Retail price up there, but we purchased when it was on sale and are happy with it. Wifi works well inside our home, the garage and outside. Netgear is a excellent product. Purchase it when it's on sale.

Very good coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a 3 storeyed house and had internet issues with the previous U-verse modem I had. Ever since I switched to Xfinity and this modem, I can stream 1080p videos in the third floor uninterrupted.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was easy to set up and gives us Wi-Fi throughout the house. It is easy to reset and allows direct connection to a desktop, laptop or tablet without losing the Wi-Fi feature. Great for our children to use to play games on their phone or tablet.

Powerful Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Strong/Powerful Router, and I love it. It holds all my devices and the reach of wifi range is great! I was a little worried that I might have gotten a bad router but I'm glad I didn't, I guess I lucked up. Looking from the reviews here and from Amazon.

Great range!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this item to increase the wifi signal in my house. Went from having no connection in the bedrooms furthest away, to full signal. For those looking for a routing to increase the range of their signal this router will suit your needs.

This thing is a BEAST!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made a shelf for it, and it lives in the laundry room. I take all my guests in there when they tour the house so they can see my "military grade router". It has given me no issues, and easily handles 20+ items connected to it at a time.
