This is an awesome piece of equipment but the blue light is a bit bright. We tried covering it but then the signal wasn't as good across the house.

I purchased this item based on reviews from topreviews.best off the internet. They stated that Netgear was awesome. I am a network administrator. I have been a long time user of Cisco products. I needed a newer and more robust router. My trusty Cisco is 5 years old and has limited range. I purchased this $399 router expecting it to have more range and faster speed. I had trouble the first night and called Tech support. They explained that the router would need a week to sync up completely. I was forced to reboot it and the Cisco Modem every night to get internet. Average range was 25 feet for connecting with wireless. More phone calls to tech support for Netgear and Charter internet continued. After 2 or 3 weeks or total frustration I returned the Netgear router. My old Cisco out performers this want to be. Don’t waste your money! There is Zero ability to connect thru walls. I have a small lake house and this router can’t connect to the next room. Never mind streaming music thru Wi-Fi to the dock. ( 30 feet away)

Wi-Fi stops working and has to be restarted I read after purchasing it they had issues with this model hopefully they'll have an update to fix it.

Very easy to set up and even on different channels. For an advanced product like this I was impressed with how easy it was to hook up.

Just what I needed. 3 Smart TVs , 1 laptop, 1 ipad , 5 iphones all on wifi make this a must in my house. A bit pricey , but well worth it.

This unit works so well I bought two more for my family. Now we have no problems hooking up to the Wi-Fi when friends and family come over.

Purchased this as a replacement to my 2014 netgear. Have to say it was no better than what I had before. Returned it and went back to the old one

Bought this unit because had night hawk 4 and loved it but kids had to many WiFi things nd didn't want to slow down my equipment love it

Before I purchased this product I was having so much trouble with my internet after buying this and hooking it up, I love this product . !!

A product whose time has finally come...Powered antennas make streaming the way it was meant to be.

Very happy with this router. We have a large family, all with different devices & so far we have had no problem connecting to wifi

It works great! The only down fall is that I was hoping it would work at about 150 yards.it doesn't for me but it might be my modem

It's fast but when I go to my garage the signal is so weak. So I got the Netgear Orbi instead.

Easy set up and connectivity as expected. Range over 30' horizontally was mediocre and deteriorates as you move further than 30'.

Expected signal strength to be greater to cover entire upper and lower floors of house. Had to use a signal extender for upper floor.

This router is everything I expected and then some. However, I found it a bit difficult to set up. With the configuration I needed.

This is the real deal. I was a skeptic if this could really coverage my entire single family house but it is awesome! Worth the money.

After wasting a day and a half returned. Setup wasnt too bad. We pay for comcast blast and was tired with poor performance of 25 to 30 download speeds. As you can see got great speed, but only for 1/2 hour. That how long 2.4G worked. I did all the firmware update, hard resets, etc. No luck. Saw people complained about 2.4G stability back in 2015, thought they would have fixed it by now...still looking for a solution.

I had the nighthawk X6 and was perfect then when I saw the X8 I tough was I very good upgrade. Very happy with this product as always.
