I got this set for our guest-house (also used as an airbnb). It's not that large, but because of the construction materials, it has a lot of dead-spots for a traditional router. By going mesh, it was my hope to strategically position the access points to give ample coverage no matter where you go in the guest house. Setup was simple, then again I've set up a lot of wifi routers as I work in the technology field and also do installations of similar routers on the side for a little extra cash. Pretty much every router on the market has an app that you can setup the entire set of devices on your phone or tablet - this is no different. After just a little tweaking, I was able to give full-bar signal to any location in the guest house and was able to open up a few ports for a couple of server-like devices I have housed in a locked up area of the house. No difficulty at all, but since I was replacing the router/modem combo that the cable company provides, I had to call their customer service and have them set the model up for "bridged" mode, otherwise I was dead in the water. A great setup by Netgear - they have yet to fail me!

Netgear Orbi 370 Series Dual Band Mesh Wi-Fi System was a bit confusing out the box setup. In doing reasearch and deep diving into AI, I realized that the lights did not have to be showing for Netgear Orbi 370 Series to be in operating status. It would have save me a lot of time and frustration i if this was mentioned in setup process. The Router that I replaced always displayed a blue light for connection and red for not connected. I finally just disconnected the system and had it to recycle overnight. Once I reconnected the Router to my modem and then reconnected the two satelites back up the next day, the Router and Satlelites finally sync together. I did download the Netgear Orbi App that have lots of features and benefits in understanding how your Wi-Fi works such as Device Manager, Internet Speed, Wi-Fi Analytics which has its own settings that measures Signal Strength, Home Testing, Network Status, Channel Interferance, Channel Graph and Signal Graph. I am confused that at this writing it shows my Current Channel as 153 with 9 networks and Clarity as Poor. It recommends Channels with less traffic but how do I switch to another channel is the question for another day. My Network Map is showing the Orbi Router connected to the Internet and both Satelites Online so why should I be connected to a poor Channell when my Speedtest is always over 700 mbps with Upload at 41.66, stating that my internet speed is very fast. So, if I switch my Roku Ultra from Modem Wi-Fi to Orbi Router the Internet Download Speed is less even though it is saying the signal strength is excellent. Hopefully it will get better as I continue to use The Netgear -Orbi 370 Series Wi-Fi 7 System in expanding my Wifi coverage and speed.

    Improved Wi-Fi Range and Speeds

I've been using my existing router for the past few years. While it has worked well, I've had issues with dead spots in my 2300 square foot home. I also didn't have the best range. I was hoping that this Orbi mesh system from Netgear would help with these issues and I was pleased to see that they did. While it doesn't have all of the specs/features that some higher end (and more expensive) systems have, I found it more than capable of providing excellent Wi-Fi throughout my home. Setting up the system on the app was the best experience I've had when hooking up a new router. I was half-expecting to run into issues as I typically do with router apps, but they seem to have made this set-up process idiot proof. I appreciate this because even some of us tech savvy people can get frustrated when things don't work right out of the box. Many apps can seem poorly thrown together but I found this one to work as intended and be quite user friendly. After getting everything hooked up and working, I used the system for a few days and the results were like night and day from my old stand-alone router. Not only were my dead spots gone, but my wireless speeds were significantly better on both stories and each corner of my home. With 4 family members often using the internet at the same time for various things, I didn't experience any issues with buffering, slowdowns, or disruptions. If you have a medium to large sized home and utilize your W-Fi for regular activity like TV/movie streaming and casual gaming, this Orbi system would be an excellent choice.
