Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Orbi 750 Series AX4200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System's extensive coverage, ease of use, and strong performance as significant advantages. Many appreciate the straightforward setup process and reliable signal strength, resulting in improved connectivity. However, some users cite the high price as a drawback, and a lack of robust parental controls is also mentioned as an area for improvement. While some experienced lag, others reported significant improvements in speed and reduced lag after installation.

The setup and install from Geeksquad was just what we needed, since I'm away on deployment. The gentleman who installed it did a very good job explaining what needed to be done in case it goes down, etc. It was exactly what my wife needed for her work from home experience, as they want her plugged directly in and this mimics that in the system. It also made the download speeds even faster than before! Great product!

Used previously mesh routers to less than stellar results, however, this one was truly a step above the rest. Setup was a breeze. Pro tip: name your SSID the same as your previous router and use the same password so that your devices automatically connect. Placed main router in the living room and the satellite in an office and connection has been amazing. I have 500 down/500 up internet and speedtests nearly always hit the mark on all devices. Might be a little pricey, but well worth it.

I was originally skeptical of a fully wireless mesh system, but was quite surprised by the results. Our house is fairly large, so we put the hub in the basement on the left, and the satellite on the right of the house on the 1st floor. We got around 1Gbps stable throughout the entire house, even on the 2nd floor with extremely low latency thanks to the 5Ghz backhaul. We even managed to get a stable connection far-ish in the backyard with speeds of 50~Mbps, which was incredible for the distance.

I have zero complaints about this mesh wifi after having it about a month. No dropouts, spottyness or anything to hunder the performance I've gotten. I like the looks as well, so that's a plus. Setup was simple and didn't have any issues. Plenty of coverage around the house and about 30 ft into the backyard in our shed. Speeds I tested out there on my 400Mbps service is about 120Mbps. It's got plenty of power and it'll be ready if I need Gig speed. Hopefully it's all good for years.

I had used another whole house solution before changing over to Netgear Orbi, it was the ASUS Mesh system. ASUS worked amazingly and there was no trial for the network security (it was free for life) unlike Netgear Orbi has (30-day trial then pay). Unfortunately, the ASUS Mesh system after a firmware update broke and online support could not get it to restore. Long story there, I kept at it (resetting to factory default over and over again) and eventually it worked again. When I would do a speed test wired would show the expected 1GB but WiFi would only show half the speed expected. Called support again, they said it must be the internal antenna going bad. I bought another ASUS set (I needed something as I work from home) because the beginning with the ASUS Mesh was a wonderful experience. This second set did the same thing... that is a ton of money for something that is not working correctly. Yesterday, I installed/configured my Netgear Orbi system. I chose this system because I am a fan of the gaming and higher end network gear from Netgear for over 20 years (I work in IT) and after research on this mesh system there has been high praise reviews. I can only hope/pray that my experience with the Netgear Orbi will be as good as the years I have been able to depend reliably on Netgear products. So far, so good! This is covering my entire house (around 26K sqft, two floors, wood construction) with excellent WiFi signal strength.

The Orbi was my first experience with a Wi-Fi mesh system. It was easy to set up as I was moving from an older Nighthawk router. With the ever increasing amount of WiFi compatible devises it was necessary to upgrade to a system that could handle 30+ devices spread all around the house. The best part of the upgrade was the ability use the existing WiFi name and password. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for the latest tech and who have a larger area of coverage and devices.

There were many dead spots in our two story home even though we had recently upgraded to wi-fi 6. After the Geek squad installed the Orbi Mesh router and one satellite all our connected appliances have great reception and a rapid connection. That includes security cameras in the yard on our back fence. I can even get a good signal two houses down the block. It was not cheap but definitely eliminates problems with poor reception. Highly recommended.

I have been using Netgear products for 20 years now and this is the first disappointment I have had. Purchased this Orbi system last week and returned it this week. Setup is a breeze and I was up and running in no time. Everything did work good but I just could not get the speeds I was expecting. I tested and the Orbi router was getting 935-945Mbps from the modem but anywhere i tested the speed over wifi, best i could get is 350-380. I spent several hours on the chat with support and we tried upgrading firmware a few times only to see performance drop. Xfinity gateway speeds were 450-500Mbps so i was highly disappointed that Netgear could not beat them. Reluctantly I returned the system yesterday as i could not see paying $500 for slower speeds. Connectivity was better since it is a mesh network but i did have issues with the satellite picking up tablets and phones as they would routinely connect to the router instead. The orbi app is awesome and easy to use. I am reconsidering my entire configuration.

Our internet has definitely improved since implementing this new system. However, I put it at 4 stars, because there can be some troubleshooting involved that can be difficult for some. We had connection problems with our PS5’s when we originally set this up. After a lot of Google searching, we were able to change some settings and get things working. If you’re not upgrading for gaming, then you should be fine, but caution to those with newer systems. Once we got it figured out it has worked fantastically, and has significantly improved our internet speed and usage.
