Very good router

Favorite router ever!

Very pleased with results, have been recommending system whenever router topic pops up.

Decent mesh router

Have if been spoilt by Apple, everything seems a little more difficult to get started and working. The same was the case with the router. Followed instructions the first time and had issues. Reset the router and followed the same instructions again, it worked! Not sure why. The app is good for basic setup but if you need anything more, you need to access the router’s webs asked configuration. It works really well and the only gripe I have is that I cannot connect a USB HDD. No USB ports! I knew this going in so can’t complain but come on, how difficult is it to support a USB port? Apple and others have been doing this for years now! No time machine backups as a result. On the positive side, my speeds and coverage have improved significantly.

What a difference!

There’s a lot of nearby interference due to apartments on all sides of us. Getting through a movie with our old router was always a challenge. Because our home is on several levels, I thought I’d try this Orbi mesh system. Wow! The difference was dramatic. No lagging. No drops. Very fast speed. This has even helped an old computer perform better then it has in years. I wish I’d purchased this sooner!

Netgear Orbi Review

Problems

They go offline constantly, requiring a network and thermostat restart to reconnect. Can’t get product support because of the quarantine. The devices that can connect work well, over 30 devices at a time with great range and speed for my home. It’s a new product and if not for tech support being unavailable in the current Covid situation, perhaps I would have better luck.

I did try other brand like eero pro 6 which gave me only 60% of the actual speed I pay for. Definitely recommend this product

Setup easy if you make no mistakes

I tried to rename the Orbi network the same as my old one. I screwed up one digit...could not go back could not edit. Had to reset everything and start over. Once properly installed.......Wow!
