Customers are saying
Customers recognize the Orbi 750 Series AX4200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System's extensive coverage, ease of use, and strong performance as significant advantages. Many appreciate the straightforward setup process and reliable signal strength, resulting in improved connectivity. However, some users cite the high price as a drawback, and a lack of robust parental controls is also mentioned as an area for improvement. While some experienced lag, others reported significant improvements in speed and reduced lag after installation.

Not Bad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast and reliable so far. I can definitely see a difference from my older Obri AC3000 system. The setup takes long for some reason.

Wireless professional not impressed.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price not impressed. There is no way to control the frequencies and I have had problems with interference. I have never seen a router that does well auto selecting a clear frequency and this one is no different. To get rid of a basic control like chanel selection is a big problem for those of us who actually know how to set frequencies. If they wanted to get rid of that setting they should have ensured the auto channel selection would work properly. The number 1 issue of poor internet service is wireless frequency interference and as such this issue should have been addressed much better. I have had multiple connection issues of devices because of this problem. Devices that say they have good signal will disconnect and/or have issues connecting at all. I am a wireless internet professional that has many years of experience with these issues as well as experience with about every router on the market. I have always prefered Netgear products and had high hopes for this system but it has definitly let me down. Definitely not worth the money.

Day One - Failure on all fronts from Netgear
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was purchased with the intent of upgrading to 802.11ax (WiFi 6) from an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac router. I'll begin with the disclaimer of this particular product may be defective. However, as this device doesn't have a lot of reviews here, I feel it's my responsibility to drop this bomb; with high hopes that an exchange will turn this frown upside down! I ordered this online Apr, 23rd and received it Apr, 24th. I excitedly opened the packaging (A+ for the quality of presentation here) and proceeded to take all of the components out of the box. I then set the Router and Satellite in their respective locations. I installed the Orbi Application from the Android store and got everything ready to go and began setting it all up. I followed the instructions to the letter. I unplugged/plugged in the fiber modem (Cox Gigablast), placed the satellite and powered it on (waited a few moments), went to connect the Orbi Router and when I tried to connect it wouldn't let me... Issue #1 - I was instructed by the Orbi App to turn off my mobile data (why is this necessary), either way I did, and then I was able to connect to it, I was then instructed to connect the Ethernet (internet) cable to the Internet 'yellow' port, then the app conducted a couple of tests... Issue #2 - "The internet is offline", I was told to, "Please unplugging and plugging in the modem to reset it and try again." To which I did, and then it synced up passed the tests and we're moving along. I was then prompted to set the SSID and network password, followed by the router UI password. The device then went through a series of prompts, to testing my mobile devices connection to the now configured WiFi... Issue #3 - I was able to connect to the WiFi successfully, albeit there was no internet connectivity, I felt like the router had a, "Got Eem" moment there. Upon initially connecting I had the pretty littler "6" icon next to the WiFi bars, followed quickly by an "!". Well that's strange, I thought. So I unplugged the Ethernet cable and plugged it back in. For a brief moment we were back in business!!! And boy was it snappy I was getting between 800 - 930Mbps download and about 600+ upload. For a about 2-3 minutes I was thinking to myself, "Hell YEAH!" and then the Orbi once again said, "Got Eem!". I was able to connect to the routers UI, and everything looked like it should. (Disclaimer #2 - I don't claim to be a master but I've been in the IT industry for near 20 years, so I'm pretty decent with this stuff.) I then called Cox, and their customer service was great, the woman who was helping me walked through the normal step and everything worked great on their end. I plugged in my old router and it worked as it always had so it wasn't the internet drop, so to speak. Next, I submitted a work order via the Netgear website and received a ticket #. I called Netgear and followed the telephone prompts and after being placed at number 16 in line, proceeded to wait on hold for about an hour. While waiting, I was googling around to see if I could find anything similar to what I was experiencing. There were a few similar issues with the internet dropping, but their drops were shorter/longer intermittent issues, whereas this router would work for a minute and then just stop... Issue #4 - The Netgear "Tech Expert" comes on the phone and I explain to him the issue I'm experiencing and that I've already contacted Cox, he says, "hmm what model router is it?" I tell him, "the Orbi AX4200". He says, "I'm sorry sir, I can't help you with the AX models, but I'll connect you to someone else can provide you with assistance." Awesome I thought, and said, "Great, thank you." Issue #5 - The next thing I hear is "You are number 18 in line, please hold." Another 30 minutes go by, and I'm getting close. The phone call goes silent as if someone picked up the line aaaaaand... Issue #6 - Disconnected. Now it's becoming supremely frustrating. I read some more online, and basically all I found was to factory reset and try again. So I tried, and it failed again encountering the same problems as the first time through. I found another post saying to set up the router with a laptop instead of a mobile device. So I tried it, and I ran into the same problems as I did with the mobile configuration. I tried calling Netgear one more time, figured I'd give it a try. Went through the same rigamarole, and then after 40 minutes of waiting, yet again the music goes silent and... Issue #7 - Disconnected, again!!! It's hard to find good help these days. Ultimately after wasting near 4+ hours of my time trying to get this thing to work I've given up. I'm going to exchange it tomorrow and try again. Though I feel like Netgear could go pound sand at this point, you can't blame the company for disgruntled support staff. So I'll give this thing another go tomorrow or the next day depending on the exchange options and hopefully it'll work better the second time around. I'll update this review accordingly.

Finally Wi-Fi reception on three floors!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My college aged grandsons suggested I get the tri-band Wi-Fi six system when they were visiting during the holidays and couldn't get any wifi reception in their room on bottom floor. The minute we plugged in one system in each floor we were able to get reception on all three floors of our house. What a wonderful holiday gift!

Orbi WiFi System
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Orbi system is GREAT !!! I have a 2-story, 2500 sq ft house. The router is in one end of the house on the 2nd floor so Internet speed at the other end of the 1st floor was horrible. Orbi boosted the reception so much that WiFi reception became the same as the speed at the router for the hard wired computer. Well worth the cost.
