We don’t need subscriptions

The reason I’m giving them a low rating is because NetGear is pushing their subscription services by making router configuration, and device administration worse. Device access is basically on/off tied to IP (no option for MAC address), the schedule for blocking services has never worked on my router. I bet this would work if I paid for their monthly/annual parental control (premium) subscription- but that’s ridiculous! All of this is done on the router, so all the subscription is providing is user interface to make configuration easier, and they’ve hobbled their routers admin to squeeze more money out of customers. NetGear is trying to sell you expensive razors and expensive blades.

Orbi Netgear No Longer Support the ParentalControl

However, the Parental Control was not support anymore. Orbi Netgear app. for Iphone show the Parental Control on their app. but when I installed and it was not. I chart with Netgear support who said that the Parental Control was NO Longer Support. If you want to get Fast Wifi. This product is good but Having kids on Wifi, this Product is Thump DOWN. I am going to return it.

Can't hide SSID broadcast

Therefore I returned the product. This is another layer of security deterrent that I must have. I understand it does not prevent hackers from getting in but it is another layer of deterrent. There was also an issue where our iPhones kept disconnecting from the Wifi. I went with the ASUS ZenWifi AX system instead.

Horrible Tech Support

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to purchase this Orbi RBK 752 along with a new Netgear Cm1100 modem to replace my AC1900 router and Cm700 modem. I want to make it clear my Internet Service Provider sent a tech out just to make sure my lines and connection to modem were in check, which they were. Shortly after they left I called Netgear support where they put me on hold, transferred me to a tech, then that tech transferred me to a level 2 tech. Talk about a headache! The modem functioned fine, but I should have listened to the negative recent reviews and stayed clear from the Orbi product! For the price tag you’d think this would be plug and play - FAR FROM IT! I wanted this to work so bad I went through the headache of tech support for a total of 3 hours (on hold for a hour & 2 hours with tech).
