Netgear has created something special with this brand. Having setup dozens of Wi-Fi networks over my IT career, I have dealt with many frustrating products. This is by far the EASIEST setup I have ever experienced. Install the Orbi app on your phone. It steps you through the setup. You connect and power up all of the devices and the app configures everything for you. It asks for an SSID and password then you're up and running. What I bought is clearly overkill for what I need day to day--but I'm looking long-term. You can go with a more affordable model and STILL get excellent coverage and connectivity. The Wi-Fi signal strength and reliability is incredible. My neighbor, two houses down, connected to my Guest network for poker night. Later, on his back porch, his phone was connecting to my network over his local Wi-Fi signal! (Note: Set a time limit on your Guest Network connections.) The security software that it comes with is also awesome! It blocks and protects you from nefarious websites and suspicious activity. I love the Orbi, it's Wi-Fi speed, coverage, and reliability.

Awesome mesh system that filled the deadspace from my last system. Super easy setup with blazing fast WiFi that now’s fills my 3 story home.

Orbi 963 Review Highly Recommended!!! I had the Orbi RBK50 (router and 1 satellite) before this Orbi RBK963 (2 satellites) and a lot has changed!!! I also had lots of other routers through the years,many ASUS router (that got stunning reviews, BUT just sucked at real world usage/reliability), Linksys, Dlink. The ASUS had the most features BUT again, the absolute worst in stability. USB ports on routers, well put it this way…. Remove them, useless!!! I had absolutely no problems after I firmware locked my Orbi RBK50. I actually had a hard time justifying the Orbi RBK963, especially at the price. The only thing I can say I had problems with the Orbi RBK50 was Apple/ Verizon WiFi calling, on calls it would get choppy at times and I did not know the Orbi RBK50 was the problem until I replaced it with this Orbi 963 and updated my cable modem to the Netgear cx2000, from Netgear CX1000. I purchased this extremely expensive Orbi RBK963. I also learned a lot, like my iPhone 13 max pro has WiFi 6 BUT not WiFi 6E, WiFi 6 uses the 5ghz band, WiFi 6E uses 6ghz band. So I have a future prof WiFi Router now that all I can say about this router is WOW, flawless, we’ll just as good as it’s going to get, nothing works 100%, but this comes close and makes the 963 the best you can buy . Orbi gives us the best 5Ghz band for our devices, the lower 5Ghz. Lots of smart devices still only use the 2.4Ghz band and future products we buy will support the 6E and in two years or more WiFi 7 that uses and is fully backward compatible with WiFi 6E, so no worries for years (as my Orbi RBK50 I used for years and purchased used worked just outstanding, second to none!!) If you want that fancy, useless crap Asus offers then be my guest and best of luck. I have never tried TPlink and since these Orbi’s, well I don’t care to try anything else out now!! I had a little hard time with firmware updating, had to run it twice as the first time I had a glitch, as most routers I had, had glitches that would not go away, but this one after the second firmware load (same firmware, must have missed a step below) is near perfect. The device list in the app is not perfect and wrong at times, as my iPhone shows as wired. I run speed tests all times of the day and I do get with Speedtest.net all kinds of results BUT at no time did I ever get any hiccup in usage. These Orbi’s just work!!!!!! Thank you Netgear! For the ultimate in stability, reliability, a product I don’t have to reboot every few days or weeks, and for a product that is actually worth the high price!!!! WiFi calling now is perfect, super fast internet speeds. All on WiFi back haul. The way you update this router. Need a computer, laptop…. 1. (Skip this step, if you updated firmware and reset the Orbi system) download the latest files, RBRE960 (Router) and RBSE960 (satellites) 2. Log into the router “192.168.1.1”, with user “admin” password you set it up with or just continue with the setup (if it’s the first time, or you reset the devices), wait for it to detect 2 satellites, if you have 2. 3. After quick setup (note: change your WiFi SSID and password last), change the DHCP range in the “Advanced” “Setup” “LAN Setup” to 100 to 200 4. (Skip this step, if you updated firmware and reset the Orbi system) Update firmware on Satellites first and wait for them to connect then the router last. To find out your IP address go to “Advanced” “Administration” “Attached Devices” and you will see the satellites ip address that you open new web pages and log into each, in their you will find a firmware tab. 5. (Skip this step, if you updated firmware and reset the Orbi system) After all Orbi’s are back online, check their firmware and make sure all 3 have the same latest version, now reset all of them, by putting a paper clip in the reset hole and holding each one for 15 seconds. Let them boot back up then go back to step 2. 6. I unchecked “Known DoS attacks and Port Scans” in “advanced” “Administration” “Logs” as I was getting lots but the router is doing what it does best at, blocking those so I don’t need to know that. 7. Then went to “Advanced” “Setup” “Wireless Setup” and changed my SSID, WiFi password, 2.4 ghz channel (NOTE: I changed my 2.4ghz channel from auto to a channel that I found was not used in my neighborhood), left unchecked “Enable 6 GHz Only Network” (note: the 6 GHz channel is automatically on without this enabled, enabling this is only for testing the 6ghz channel so you can choose and log into the 6ghz Chanel only), and turned off the “Enable IoT Network” (my preference only!), if I was setting up my entire house again, I would use this LoT for all smart devices (like. Light switches, frig, washer, etc like that. 8. Let the Orbi system boot up 9. Now power everything off, all 3 Orbi’s and the cable modem. Wait 2 minutes then power the cable modem back on, wait 2 minutes, then power on the Orbi’s, wait 5 minutes then all should be up and running great!

I work from home and network stability is required. I replaced Nest Pro with system and the speeds are better with the same service at the router and to each end point. No more poor QoS on zoom calls. A little pricey but functioning as advertised and right now worth the investment.

Easy set up - handles 3 story 6000 sq foot house easily - Port forwarding was also easy - I switched from a linksys Velop system - this is much faster - better wi-fi coverage - I did find using a wired backhaul for one of the satellites helped, but I had good coverage before I plugged it in. Expensive, but worth it for what I need with 3 teenagers.

satellites keep disconnecting. tried connected directly to ethernet and wireless setup. Spent hours with tech support resetting system over and over and over. wat too many problems for how much this system costs. trying to get a replacement system. avoid buying this. hooked back up nest wifi system. $1399 down the drain

Excellent piece of networking hardware! Set up using the Orbi smartphone app is easy and once the system was set up, I can just use it and forget it. The Orbi 960 Series provides very good coverage throughout my house which is somewhat problematic with non-mesh systems.

My family and I lived in a house of about 2100 sq ft + basement and for the longest time we relied on a single router. That router would not reach certain areas of our home and it was rather annoying. In fall of 2021 we caved in and bought a Google Nest Mesh router and that seemed to fix all of the problems we had in our home. Everyone finally had internet in all rooms of the house and things were going well. That was well and fine until we moved into a new home this year. Our new home is about 5,000 square feet including a divided basement. From day one the internet seemed to have issues. We knew it had to be that the Nest router was not keeping up in the new home. It was not our ISP as that is a fiber network and our download speeds were constantly 250mbps and 90 mbos for up. I went out and bought a 3rd access point for the Nest hoping that would resolve my issues, which it sadly did not. Day after day I found myself having to reset the Nest router and unplug and reset all of the access points. Everyone was having issues in the home trying to keep up with the connectivity issues. We had planned to just go out and purchase the Nest Pro but then I started to do my own investigation into a good mesh router system. That is what brought me to the OrbiAXE11000. I was sick and tired of having so many tech devices all being limited by connection issues. I figured it was time to cave in and buy the best system available with the hope of alleviating the headaches of everyone complaining about their internet. This system, sadly, has almost 0 discounts available and cost about the same price as the last used car I bought. Best Buy offered one small glimmer of hope to offset this cost by offering a trade in credit on a used router. I brought in an old wireless N router and to my surprise was given a 15% discount. For a router that costs this much, that was well received. I caved in and decided to buy. Here is my opinion of how it all worked out. 1. After hooking up this router and having used for about a month now, I can honestly say that I have 0 internet connection issues. Not one of my 6 children have reported any issues whatsoever. We are connected 100% of the time and streaming is perfect. 2. I did not like the following... A. My HP printer from 2016 was too old to connect to the Orbi as it is WPA password protected and the Orbi is WPA2 and WPA3 so I had to move one of the access points over by the printer and hardwire it in. Every other device connected perfectly. B. I was shocked to see how much all of the "extra" services cost after having paid an arm and a leg for the router. When I had the Google Nest mesh router, the set up was much more user friendly and I didn't have to pay extra for extra features. With the Orbi, you have to pay an annual fee for Parental Controls, an annual fee for Security, an annual fee for Customer Service, among a few others. These are all individually purchased services too. Netgear does offer a substantial discount for the first year on most all but I was hoping they would have included, at a minimum, the parental controls. There is an ultra-limited Parental Control that is free but it is nearly useless. C. The user interface of the Orbi app is rather cumbersome and unnecessarily overloaded. As you get more used to it, you will notice only a few things that really get used on a day-to-day basis. 3. In closing, my final thoughts are this. My whole house has internet. The internet is ultra-fast. We currently have just under 40 connected devices and no issues whatsoever. I don't have kids coming in by me at night to tell me that they can't play a video game or watch a show. This was my goal, and with this router, I did accomplish it. The speeds on my router are ultra-fast in every room of my house. The internet works outside in my yard as well. (I have not tested to see how far outside it works) I have not noticed any dead spots yet. I would buy this router again and I think I made the right decision. Could it be a bit of overkill for my home? Maybe! I am ok with that. If you are annoyed that all the devices in your home are limited by the router you are using, I suggest you upgrade, and I doubt you will be disappointed if you go with the AXE11000.

Although I was on the fence about purchasing this system, after having multiple problems with my prior mesh system I took the queue and went all in. The performance and options for blazing fast wired connections even from the satellites are top notch!

This is a fantastic mesh system, super fast, superb connection strength, this will solve all of your WIFI issues.......if you have the internet strength. I say this because if you have 500 MB or even 1 gig internet, these are not for you. They are WAYYYY overkill for those speeds. There are some great systems from ASUS, Eero and even lower level Netgear models that would work great for you. This system is only worth it if you have the fiber 2.5 gig, 5 gig or even the rare 10 gig in some areas. You also need to set these up correctly to make sure you are using their potential. I originally purchased mine and hook them straight into my network switch to all of my wired devices and I was still only getting about 1 gig of speed, and I'm currently paying for fiber 5 gig from my ISP. Well, after research, I realized my switch was only rated for 1 gig of power, so I had to go and pay another $1000 for a stronger switch to enjoy these. SO again, if you have the internet muscle, and the deep pockets for that matter, then these are for you!!!!

I have been using Orbi and this is a great update. Since more and more devices need to connect to the internet my old Orbi doesn’t support enough. Upgraded to this and it’s solve all the problem. Also the range on this is better as I used to have 3 satellites and now I could work with just 2 and have better coverage

The only thing preventing me from giving a 5 star is the price, I'll explain later. Pros: -4,400 sq ft. house, 1,400 sq ft. garage, I was able to get 1,100mb/sec WiFi on my S21 Ultra everywhere in the house and the garage, the range on this system is INSANE. I tested 500mb/sec from SIX HOUSES away from my home. Nuts. -Easy to set up, literally plug and play with the app -No errors, no bugs, no problems during installation Cons: -App and features including admin login on the computer interface is the same as any other ORBI app and mesh system including their oldest Wifi 5 systems. I've never been able to successfully run an FTP server using Orbi systems including this one -For this much money, there should be very robust parental controls available but they utilize "Circle" which has a 1.9 rating in the app store and is complete garbage. I actually couldn't even get the Circle app to work, again, for $1,400 this is unacceptable. If you don't give a crap about router insights, thorough logging, parental controls, or money, then this system will deliver insane speeds for you and a crazy range. Personally, I'm going with two Asus ROG Wifi 6e Routers and Meshing them using AI Mesh.

I had the tri-band version which was good for the time but as more devices and newer devices in particular got added to my network, it slowed down dramatically. This new quad band is like greased lightning. Throw whatever you can at it and it just keep going at max speed. Really, impressive gear.

Got this as a gift for my dad and it broicht him to tears! The upgrade in speed and overall signal stability over the wifi 5 model we had previous was mind blowing! Highly recomend and easy to set up!
