Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Orbi 960 Series' impressive coverage, ease of setup and use, and strong performance. Many appreciate the system's extended range and reliable signal strength, consistently delivering fast speeds throughout their homes. However, some users find the price point to be high and the physical size of the units to be a drawback. Concerns were also raised regarding the parental controls and app functionality, with some users experiencing issues with connectivity and the app's reliability.

Solved my weak wifi performance across my home, and I'm not even using the full capabilities yet (i.e., 6E). Separate channel for IoT makes a big difference (I have 26 devices). Full signal all over the house!

Hands down the best consumer mesh system on the market today. With WiFi 6E, I get consistent Gig speeds on Wi-Fi. Mesh link is super solid too. One of my satellites is on another floor on the other side of my house and I still get 600 in the remote location.

Replacing a problematic Linksys Velop that always seemed to drop, my 3000 sqft two-story has coverage throughout... finally without any issues. Thank you!

The setup was easy and the performance is amazing! This is a great upgrade from my old Orbi AX6000. I love the separate Guest / iOT / WiFi networks. With all of our devices we needed more WiFi bandwidth and it delivers!

Wifi signal is strong as expected and performance is great. Controls are limited with the phone app. Nice feature set but from a cost perspective it’s way overpriced.

Expensive, easy to setup. Unfortunately you have to use the app and directly login via browser to get to all the configuration settings, which is annoying. Had to reset the router (hard reset via push pin) multiple times to switch between access point mode and regular router mode when attempting different configurations. The lack of ability to troubleshoot without a hard reset means more time wasted in setup. Devices prefer the main router even though I'm sitting right next to the satellite. WiFi 6E has weaker signal then WiFi 6 so all my WiFi6E devices prefer to stay on WiFi6. Had to setup the dedicated WiFi 6E SSID in order to attempt to force the devices to stay on WiFi 6E and ended up with lower throughput than on WiFi6. This is with sitting next to the main router and tests over multiple days.

Great mesh network for home. Had tried nest and nest pro and even though Speedtest shows similar speeds the experience is much smoother esp when not confined to the room with the main router.

Had to replace a faulty unit made by another company. Set up was a little wonky but the unit runs like a champ. The range I am getting is solid and while I thought it might be a little more router than I needed, I am really happy with this.

This is the second Orbi mesh router system that I have owned. I purchased my first one several years ago and it still works, However, I wanted to upgrade to the latest Wi-Fi 6 to keep up with technology. Orbi is the only router I will shop for due to its proven reliability and easy app features!

We upgraded to this system from an older three band, two satellite system which was too small and slow for our work from home needed. We noticed an immediate improvement in speed and stability. The system was super easy to install and only took a few minutes.

The new Orbi 960 definitely lives up to all the hype. Coverage is awesome to all points of our sizable 2-story house. We were also hoping for coverage on our back porch and pool area, but it’s a little lacking there. We’ll try repositioning or add a 3rd satellite if needed. Installation was easy even for those not fully functional in technology. Besides the very high price, the only downfall is the new technology mesh network did not work with some of our older printers and PC’s. We however highly recommend this system if you have the spare money to flop down.

Have 1.2 GB internet service, and getting wifi speeds over 1.4 GB throughout the house, compared to 1/2 that in the prior version. You notice the difference using the internet, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

I originally bought the Eero pro 6E But returned it after a week of use. This really is the best Wi-Fi 6E system out there right now. My house is around 4000 ft.² and I get coverage even outside the house.

Bottom line - the Orbi 960 AXE11000 is pretty awful. I cannot recommend this product. I've had this for few months now, and what was supposed to be an upgraded wifi experience has downgraded a lot. Lot of devices on wireless will stall on loading web pages, I get frequent errors on my streaming devices when I try to stream video, and I often get notifications from my phones that wifi seem to be offline from the Internet. I called Netgear support (waited on the phone for good 30-45 min before someone finally picked up), and they had me reset the whole thing back to factory default. Once set to factory default, it seems to work OK for a while. After about a month, the whole experience downgrades again. Another reason why you should not buy this - I have a fairly elaborate network setup. I have multiple internal network segments, and I have static IP from my provider. Apparently, this router will only allow Internet access only from the directly connected IP segment and will not allow from any IP segments to which I have static routes for (bad!). Static IP from provider wise, Netgear support guy was insistent that Netgears are meant to be used with dynamic IP on the provider side, so asked if I can run it with DHCP addressing on the provider side. Overall, for a router package that cost over $1000, I expected better performance, stability, and advanced features. If you are looking to just use the router with no advanced settings, then maybe this is OK. However, if you are an advanced or power user, do NOT get this router.
