Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Orbi 960 Series' impressive coverage, ease of setup and use, and strong performance. Many appreciate the system's extended range and reliable signal strength, consistently delivering fast speeds throughout their homes. However, some users find the price point to be high and the physical size of the units to be a drawback. Concerns were also raised regarding the parental controls and app functionality, with some users experiencing issues with connectivity and the app's reliability.

Traded them in for Eeros. So much lower cost and much more stable connection. It would fluctuate between 250-4Mbps. Then a hard reboot would fix it. This is my second set of Orbis. They never seem to last more than a year.

Everything about this product, from the packaging to the functionality, is simply terrible. It may be great for very basic use-cases, but if you plan to use any of the router's features, expect frustration. I did not use the app, so I can't comment on it, but the web interface is atrocious. Often, settings applied were simply ignored by the router (such as wifi on/off, DHCP reservations, etc).

Replaced our FIOS router and network extenders (which have always been problematic) with the Orbi system. So far so good. Everything is working great, with much better signal strength throughout the entire house and faster speeds as well.

    Orbi mixed feelings

First price: Ridiculous it’s an average on $500 a unit. Orbi: They are dumming down their products and taking away features 2.4 ghz: You can’t separate the networks so if you have any devices that need to join the 2.4 GHz wireless there’s a good chance they just wont I’ve had to use an old wireles router to join all the devices to the 2.4 and then switch back over to the Orbi they do nothing to address this issue. Overall capabilities: this is the reason I still went with Orbi. They are just the best with steady connection speeds, and it just works especially when you have a lot of Wi-Fi units in the house.

I was really excited to get to a point where I could purchase this mesh system. My previous Orbi System stopped working and I decided to upgrade to this new next level system that I had seen. I also upgraded my Internet service provider from the local cable company to Google Fiber to gigabit speed Internet. Unfortunately I did not receive fast speeds on my Wi-Fi network. The Orbi app showed me that I was getting 2 Gb download and one gigabit upload speeds to the router in the Orbi system. However holding my iPhone 13 promax a few feet away from the router produced speeds of about 600 Mb per second. And that was at best. My iPhone should be capable of speeds of 1.2 GB.

Some learning curve needed before getting legacy devices online. Selecting the IoT SSID was key to connecting legacy devices. The Orbi 960 is considerably faster that our previous Orbi 750.

“Upgraded” from Eero Pro 6 to these units. Setup was difficult. Had to factory reset and start from scratch. Once online, I was very disappointed with the performance. I have 1 gig Fios service. With the Eero, I was getting about 250 download max and up to 350 upload. With Orbi, I was only 150 max down and about 25 up. This was standing right next to a hard wired unit, using iPhone 13 Pro Max. Went back to Eero and performance was as it was before. So, returned the Orbi and staying with Eero.

I was sold a Returned Unit as NEW... The product had been opened and registered with an email so unless you have that email it is BRICKED. I had to return the useless product and get a refund. I also discovered the satellite was missing the 2.5 GB port ONLY had 4 1GB Ports?

Returned it. Horrible latency. Speed was good but ping and jitter killed this for us. Easy to setup and coverage was solid but network was unusable. Replaced it with the ASUS ET12 and it has been rock solid.

I am pretty disappointed in these. I came from TP Link x55’s which are ~$300. I’m getting better speed on those which is shocking. For $1,500 I expect excellence and these just didn’t deliver. It also took about 4 hours to get through firmware updates which continued to fail, in the end I decided to return them because I could never get all 3 to sync.

    INCREASED COVERAGE & STRENGTH

The system has a very sturdy feel to it, each node/unit has a hefty feel to it. I do wish they were a little smaller because they are pretty noticeable wherever you place them. The setup was very simple and easy using the app. The app is pretty standard which allows me to see the devices connected, do speed tests and setup guest accounts on the fly. A huge bonus is the ports on the satellites not only the router. I am able to expand the coverage to my spotty areas with the satellite BUT i am able to have a wired connection from my satellite to my device for a better connection. I noticed an improved signal on most if not all my wireless devices. The first floor where the router and satellite are in an open floor space showed the biggest improvement in signal but it was not my trouble area. The second floor showed improvement but my signal went from 25MB/s to 99-115MB/s. Its a very welcome improvement but i was expecting more at that price point but it is going from the first floor router to a second floor, long flight of stairs with a landing and another flight of stairs and on the opposite sides of the house. It did HELP GREATLY with STREAMING on the second floor. Overall an amazing addition at a steep price, It will definitely add coverage and strength, it just depends on how much you are willing to pay for it.
