I grabbed this because the apartment I live gets terrible wifi in the back room and a repeater just wasn't cutting it. Besides not really helping to boost my connection in the back, having to swap between the two connection points when moving back and forth in my home was a pain.
The fact that this comes with only one satellite works great for me (although if I ever need more that will be a pain...) and set up was quick and easy.
I currently have a modem/router combo from Centurylink so instead of futzing around with that I was able to quickly change the Orbi into AP mode on the app and it works great.
The fact that I am now getting the same speeds in my back room as when sitting in the same room as the router/modem is amazing and well worth the price for this.

Returned Google WiFi because of AT&T wifi calling problems and replaced it with this. Faster speed, never fail WiFi calling and just general better overall performance. Easy setup and it works like it's supposed to.

I originally used these at a hotel I used to work at. It was an 80 room hotel with 2 stories laid in a "V" formation of 2 long buildings. The 3 satellite package was MORE than enough to cover the entire hotel (plus about a block and a half away in all directions) and was rock solid even when we were sold out. The app is a breeze when setting it up.
I loved it so much I bought it for my house. The range on these things is nuts and it handles my high speed connection flawlessly.

I have a 2400sqft multi level home which had recently been renovated with laminated flooring. Immediately the WiFi signal upstairs went to zero. I bought an extender tried it and signal showed up but was extremely weak and dropped mostly. Shortly after I Visited BestBuy and shared my challenge. This device was recommended. It seemed expensive and I was not hopeful.
Once I installed it (which was super easy) it was like magic. Home had full speed of my 300+mbps all through the home.
I strongly recommend this router. Not sure about other brands, but this technology is solid the best thing I got to leverage my money spent on internet.

And I have had more than I can count over the last 20 years. Was very easy to set up and get running. A phone app makes it ultra convenient and handy too manage and monitor. Wouldn't go back to the other high end (Netgear AX10, A8, Linksys and other gaming routers.) Has held a consistent signal with no DROPS!! A real plus compared to the "others". I don't need it for gaming any longer but plenty capable for managing my 12 devices that utilize high bandwidth with no slow downs or interruptions at all. Nothing but great things to say about this system. Wish I had considered it before.

Set up was straightforward and fast. But my signal strength from the satellite unit was weak, at first. I moved it around the corner so it would have line-of-sight visibility with the base unit.
That required and easy re-syncing of the two units, after which the automated firmware update ran and restarted the base unit. Viola! I now have perfect coverage across an 1,800 sq ft home, plus garage, and all units on 5G!
Note: You do not set up separate network SSID's for 2.6 and 5G. Orbi's setup creates only one dual band network that automatically switches between bands depending on the device's needs (distance from base unit and handset's dual band capability).
My reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the product specifications are misleading. NETGEAR says that 2 satellites can be used and that 2 satellites are included with the product. Wrong.
Only one satellite is pictured on the package and only one is included. (Whether 2-satellite capability and availability to purchase exists is anybody's guess; I haven't found the answer or the satellite sold separately.)
Web app is more robust than the phone app. But at least the phone app has a Speedtest feature, curiously lacking on the web application.
The dedicated 5G backhaul channel between the base unit and the satellite is the key to the Orbi mesh product's outstanding performance. Just downloaded and updated 19 apps on my Android 9 phone in 8 minutes off the satellite.
The product solved my coverage issues, my devices connect to the network almost instantaneously, and network throughput is consistently awesome!
Very satisfied and would recommend the NETGEAR Orbi AC2200 product for up to 2,200 square feet of needed WiFi 2.6 and 5G coverage.

This product is great. I had major dead spots in my home and my dual band router wasn’t cutting it. I stopped in with an idea of what I needed and the Best Buy rep put me on to the Orbi. The set up was super easy and I was up and running in minutes and getting almost double the internet speeds throughout my entire home (2000 sq ft). I also like that you can add additional satellites (similar to a WIFI extender without the loss of performance) if you have a bigger home or additional dead spots. Long story longer, I would highly recommend the Orbi.

Needed a system to cover my two story home. The coverage is great, I have WiFi in my garage, side yard kitchen area, and backyard pool area. The mesh additional unit lets you plug in to the least covered area of home for a wider WiFi signal. The features are also great and easy to use. You get to see all your devices that are on your network. You can also pause or turn off their WiFi if need be. Love it.

The Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (2-pack) has been a wonderful addition to my smart home upgrades. First of all you need to know that I am a Verizon Fios customer and with that comes a host of challenges working with their modem/router. Until Orbi I was trying to cover my 3-story 2,400 sf home with a secondary router and Wi-Fi extenders. All of these components have their usefulness and I was getting by with slow Wi-Fi camera feeds and spotty Wi-Fi signal coverage in the remote parts of my home. I was reluctant to go to a whole house Wi-Fi mesh system because of the cost but when I upgraded to the Orbi I was amazed at the increased Wi-Fi signal coverage and integration of all my smart home devices. The most amazing results have been realized with my Wi-Fi cameras access. I didn’t know what I was missing until I got this amazing Orbi system. Now I have nothing to compare it to regarding the other Wi-Fi mesh systems out there on the market but I am very happy with the Orbi.
Setting up the Orbi was a challenge especially regarding its integration with the Verizon Fios modem/router but once I learned how to shut down the Wi-Fi signal from the Quantum Gateway Router and let the Orbi take over the Wi-Fi signal broadcast throughout the house everything worked seamlessly. There is a degree of knowledge required on how to access both the Verizon modem/router and the Orbi main router which is not intuitive. You have to really do your homework and persevere through the trial and error but it’s worth it on the end. I am very happy with this system once it was up and working properly.

Expands my wifi coverage, and gives better service in the living room area, for streaming on the big TV. Relatively easy to set up, instructions are good. EXCEPT if you have fiber optic connection, you must input your static IP address; the system cannot 'acquire' it. It took me a while to figure this out; it was not addressed in the instructions. But now that I've done that, it works very well.

We replaced a Nighthawk R6700 originally purchased for an apartment. For the last 3 years in the burbs, we had some coverage issues, the frequent traffic jams (no traffic flowing to any device), and the inability for any device to use the full capacity of our bandwidth (60Mbits up / down). We have 22 devices connected in total when our work devices are home.
Those issues seem to be gone. We have the base unit in the sub grade room (same as our previous router) and the satellite unit in our bedroom on the top level. We have great coverage, all devices are connected working, and overall performance for all devices has improved.
Total setup time was 15 minutes. I used the Orbi app to set up - if you’re using a nighthawk router and app, remove that app from your phone first. The Orbi needed a firmware update after I successfully connected it to the internet and changed the WiFi network name. All the satellite needed was to be plugged in - nice!
Another improvement is that we can use the smart band selection feature (2.4 or 5Ghz) with this and our HP 281 laser jet printer. Previously, the printer would get lost when devices switch between bands.

Recently moved to a new house and my ISP had to install the modem/router in the laundry room because they don't run wire in the house. The wifi signal to the other side of the house (small ranch) was little to none. My desktop PC would loose connection or no connection at all; I couldn't connect my wireless printer, my smart phone was really slow while connected to the ISP's router forcing me to turn off the wifi. I decided to purchase a signal booster, but the tech at the store recommended the Orbi Tri-band wireless system because it was a better product than just a signal booster. I only needed the 2 pack because I have a small ranch. The install was quick and painless to my ISP router. The wall plug satellite took a few minutes to sync with the base, but once it paired, all my devices work now. I haven't had any issues with wifi since. Great product, fast connection speed.

I am a tech savvy person. I was looking for a good mesh system for my home. After reading about the leading systems I opted for Orbi and I have not been disappointed. I got the router plus a wall satellite. Before the Orbi I always had issues with my streaming DirectTV Now in my room and my son bedroom. I used to think it was probably DTV servers I was so wrong. Since I got the Orbi there is no pause or thinking on any of my streaming devices. Even as far as my son's room I test speeds and get 100 megabits or more. I have 4 Google homes, hue lights, tp link switches, 3 Amazon fire, 2 wyze cams, and so much more connected and always always get no wait time on my devices internet. I swear by this system. Highly recommend to anyone!

The system is easy to setup and easy to use. the devices have OK range, but are far from the performance I expected, especially at this price point compared to other options. Overall, it may be a good fit for you, but for those who are more security minded and want to configure multiple networks for IoT/home automation, this is not the one for you.

Very happy with the new Omni mesh router with one satellite. Great internet speed now (e.g., 200+ mbps download) and the quality of TV picture received via wi-fi at 65+ feet from router is EQUIVALENT to that received through the hard-wired Spectrum cable box!
I had never installed a router myself, so I was hesitant to try and install this new router to my separate modem. The Best Buy reps coached me and assured me I could do it (and gave me their direct phone number if I ran into problems! ha!). Written installation instructions are very limited but sufficient, and the login info on the router is tiny print for my eyesight. I had a little problem initially logging into the Orbilogin.com website, but I managed to login into the website and download the Orbi NetGear app on my cell phone in order to install the new router.
Initially, I disconnected my old router from my modem, thinking I could install the new router that way. However, I lost wi-fi service to my cell phone, so wound up reconnecting my old router back to the modem. I then connected the new Omni router to one of the extra plug-ins on the back of my old router. Wallah! Wi-fi service restored. From that point on, I simply followed the directions on the App.
Be sure and permanently retain the two sets of user IDs & passwords you needed to do this. installation The first set being your initial login user ID and password for the Orgilogin.com website. The second set is the name of your local SSID wi-fi system and password, which is what you will use henceforth to login to your wi-fi. I used the same wi-fi name and password from my old wi-fi to lessen the hassle in having to log everything back into my new wi-fi system. I save that info to a text file on my desk top. Hope this helps!

I have bought and installed these for myself and many family members. Overall best mesh wifi system for the money in my opinion. I have also set up google/nest wifi, error, linksys velop and used the new nightawk meant for making mesh wifi out of a traditional router. This is the easiest to set up with the best performance and hardware setup to be more future proof than others. Great system.

We have a split-level home with a massive stone fireplace in the middle, often causing dead-spots and weak connectivity in the house's outer rooms and more distant levels (distant from the router). We recently updated our modem, and our older router was unable to keep up with the new speeds. Then, COVID-19 hit and we're all working and schooling from home with MANY devices on ALL day long. Ouch. It was slow... painfully slow. So... much... spinning! I did some research, and found this Orbi mesh set-up. It was delivered quickly from Best Buy, so YAY! Out of the box, I downloaded the app they said to get, and the app just walked me through the entire installation. I had a minor hiccup finding a good spot for the satellite, but I think it was my own fault for being impatient... don't be me... wait a little bit for the satellite to link up and connect, and the colored light will change! I was expecting it to be more immediate I guess, and I kept moving it thinking it wasn't in a good location. LOL. User error. Once I did an internet search I figured out my error and it was fine. So, another recommendation, any time you're installing something new for your internet: Make sure you have a device that can use data, just in case you need to search while your wifi is down! :)
We have been up-and-running now on this new router for more than a month, and we are very happy with the results. We have had no lags or delays in our connections since! Highly recommend.
