I wanted to like, but I cannot

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At first this Orbi AC2200 worked great, but within a few weeks I noticed that I needed to start unplugging and re-plugging in the remote extender. About 1 week later, I needed to start rebooting the main router. The I needed to completely unplug the remote extender and leave it that way. A software upgrade made things worse. It eventually had to be restarted every 4-6 hours. Sorry, but this thing had to go. The Circle content filter worked great though! Now I have a Circle subscription I cannot use, and trash hardware that is just beyond the return date.

Poor Connection and customer service

It kept losing connection to all my laptops and tv multiple times a day, it has been a nightmare with keeping my kids connected at home during school. I called Netgear and the gave me the run around for 3 weeks finally they said they would need to exchange it but I would have to send the device back first. what am I supposed to do with no router for 2-3 weeks while I get a replacement? I called Best Buy and since my return period expired even for an elite member they would not take it back. Very frustrated with the process and lack of customer service from Best Buy and Netgear. I will now have to buy another router because I cannot be without internet or my kids would lose weeks of school including me that I have to work from home.

Difficult Setup; Poor Performance

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a single Linksys unit that wasn't giving us great coverage upstairs. The first issue is that it can't do simultaneous dual-band, and you have no control over whether a device connects on 2.4 or 5GHz. Second, I couldn't get the satellite unit to connect over what seemed a reasonable distance from the base unit. Third, the Internet kept dropping out and I was getting worse coverage than the previous unit in certain areas. And fourth, it was very difficult to connect devices. I could not re-connect my Amazon Echo units nor my Sonos speaker. After 10 hours of screwing around and my wife yelling at me for the lack of Internet, I gave up and returned it. Replacing with a 3-node mesh system for only $20 more.

Didn't work and hard to set up

The associate at Best Buy said this was the best, so we excitedly took it home. In the hours it took to set this up, we became frustrated. Xfinity couldn't help us, so we spent an hour on the phone with Netgear trying to get it to work right. Once we got it "working", the internet was slower than before, even though we had increased our speeds. The app is worthless (even the Netgear guy told us that). Once set up, we were told we could move the satellite to another room. Again, internet became spotty. Called back the next day to find out the satellite has to be in the same room for about 24 hours. We unplugged it, packed it up and took it back to get an all in one unit. I didn't want any more problems.

Can’t get these satellites to connect to my main Orbi network. Finally after about 15 tries got one of the routers to work in the network. The second one will not connect. Best Buy was no help. I tried chatting with them and they told me to “call Spectrum”, no phone number provided or any context. This product sucks. My wifi network is u reliable, iOS devices generally don’t connect. It is a nightmare for all of us working and doing school from home. Don’t buy this unless you are a network administrator and IT systems expert.

Eero > Orbi. Period.

Had nothing but issues with this one so returned and got the Eero system. I’ve had zero issues with the Eero and highly recommend if you’re looking for a mesh setup.

when it works

Usually happens if there is a power outage. Maybe I got a dud...
