Netgear makes the best networking system available

Ok, so I am somewhat technically savvy. I know enough to get myself out of problems, but not in the tech field. With that being said, I am so impressed with the Orbi RBK23W system. Everyone hates dead spots. This system not only eliminates dead zones in your wifi network, it increases stability and makes speeds faster and more consistent. I have spectrum and I receive the 200mb speed I pay for and an additional 30-40mbs over that. I have 14 wifi connected devices and I never have a problem using them with this wifi setup. Setup took 10-12 minutes and it was complete. Not only setup but reconfigured to my personal taste. I have a 2000 sq foot home with no dead zones now including the garage, front and backyards. I plan on watching the NCAA tournament with my smart tv on a stand out back next to my fire pit. The signal is that strong. In fact, playing around with the system, I took one of the satellites and plugged it in next door at my neighbor's house. It was at least 70 feet away and still able to access my network on his couch through 2 exterior walls and three interior walls between both houses respectively. This really is the wifi device for you. One network without any redundant access points and the app lets you limit screen time for any device which is great for kids. Even though I got Orbi RBK23W as apart of the testing program, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends or family. My parents are picking one up this weekend. Their house is three times the size of mine and their network solution doesn't work well The price is something to consider, but if it works seamlessly and the Orbi RBK23W does, its worth every penny in my mind.

Unfortunately, this device did not worked for me. The signal didn’t really made it passes a few walls around 3,200 SF, so signal was often lost. I’m sure it will work for a smaller place.

    Excellent mesh router

The Netgear Orbi is a great wireless mesh router. I purchased the RBK23W version. It has many pros:- Easy to install.- Works with existing router. I have a Verizon router. I just turned its wireless off, and replaced it with the Orbi, after setting the Orbi in Access Point mode. - Has great coverage and wireless signal reaches all corners of my apartment.- The signal seems to switch seamlessly - no issues so far.- Great app to track and manage the router, while the web interface enables more advanced router management. - The main hub and wall-extenders are fairly inconspicuous. The main drawback is that it is an expensive product. If the price were at least 30% lower, it would be great all around.

Great system and...easy to set up

Purchased Orbi on the advice of Geek Squad tech at Best Buy (Drew is awesome) . Not disappointed. Replacing a 4 year old Netgear Nighthawk router. Wow! Much has changed in 4 years. Recommended that I go with the AC2200 (RBK23W) for my home - more than adequate. Moved the router location up to the 2nd floor (my office). Have a satellite down the hall in a BR so the kids have a strong signal in their rooms. Also a satellite in the kitchen feeding the downstairs. Complete coverage for my home and very strong signal in the basement (my concern) for smart TVs and Spotify for my workout room. Incredibly easy to set up via the iPhone App and I like the fact that the 2.4 and 5 networks are combined and show as only one whereas the old Nighthawk showed them as separate networks. I'm using a separate outdoor access point which Orbi did not interfere with. Again - no complaints. This all started with a visit from Comcast for a poor signal in my home - sent two techs who actually showed up on time and knew what they were doing - replaced my modem/gateway. I am finally caught up with technology...for now. As a consumer with enough home networking knowledge to be dangerous - I am impressed and pleased with my purchase and now spend less time pulling IT helpline duty for my kids complaining about the WIFI signal in the home!

    Great Experience and Performance

Out of the box the experience is great and simple. Unboxed the Orbi and satellites, scanned the mobile app for the phone and started. Total setup for router and satellites is under 15min. This timeframe included synching the satellites and a firmware update. The only negative is neither the app or the documentation stated what the network password is out of the box. Having setup other routers I looked on the bottom of the Orbi. I just thought it would help others if the documentation explicitly said where to find the SSID and Password (or I missed it). Initial experience is that the range and speed is fantastic. I tried streaming Netflix and Spotify from the far reaches of the yard and this worked great on my iPad. Current strong signal covers our entire property, home and yard (approx 9000 sq ft). Speed seems faster than previous wi-fi. I really like the mobile app component. The ability to manage the device lists, settings etc is a refreshing change from traditional logging into web browser admin pages of the past. Preventing the need for data entry using QR Codes and scanning built into the app is also a plus. Since our house is only 2000 sql ft - I installed the device again at a friends house with 4000 sq feet and multiple floors. The range within the house fixed dead spots they were having with their existing setup and range extenders from another brand. Reach into their yard was not as far but within the house is great after testing a few spots for ideal satellite placement. It is not an inexpensive solution, but a great value, and you get what you pay for. This is an especially great value for people experiencing range issues within their larger homes/yards. I received this product from NETGEAR as part of a test and review program.

One-stop Wifi Solution for BIG Homes!

    Posted .

So I live in Dallas, TX - where EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas...including the homes! We live in a 4,000 sq ft. home in Frisco and since we moved in 4 years ago, the biggest problem we have always had were deadspots in the far corners of our home. I've tried every solution - the latest being purchasing wifi extenders. The problem we had with those were mainly compatibility issues with my older router, which having to reset all the time was really making me mad. Then I was introduced to the Netgear Orbi System (RBK23W to be exact) through a testing program and BOY AM I GLAD I HAVE THIS SYSTEM! It is the total solution to our dead spot problems because this system is really seamless - from the initial installation to the final running of the system...just simply flawless! I think the fact that setup was so easy was such a nice start. Then to make things even better - the installation of the wall plug satellites were so simple. Unlike my other wifi extenders in the past where I had to plug the thing in, set it up, only to have it not connect to the main router, resetting it, etc etc etc...What a hassle! But this Orbi system was so much easier to setup because the process was so seamless! But the greatest advantage I have to write about is the JOY I HAVE with having NO DEADSPOTS in my home whatsoever! I've taken my phone to every remote crevice in my home (where in the past I used to have deadspots) only to find that I have full strength. I was so surprised by the range of this system that I decided to walk outside to see how far I can walk out of my home to have a connection. I'm happy to say that I went down half my block (more than 100 yards) and I still had connection! I really love this system! Finally, the speeds on this thing was blazing fast. I want to say they are consistent with my last router, the Netgear Nighthawk - which gave me no problems whatsoever (but the range isn't as good as this Orbi). To be honest, I have only had this system installed for less than a day as I'm writing this review so as to long-tern stability of this system, I can't write about. However, if in the future an issue comes out or something goes wrong, I'll be sure to come back to this review and edit it accordingly. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a home larger than 3,000 square feet and has deadspot issues. So far, this system has been really amazing and I am so happy I was chosen to receive this product for free in exchange for an honest, unbiased review!

    Mind blown

I pay for the fastest internet that I can get in my area because my husband requires it for work and I for school. We were having some issues with our old modem and router, only giving us about 1/4 the speed, which just wasn’t cutting it, pages would time out, streaming would take hours to download, it just wasn’t working for us, plus I felt like I was just wasting money for paying for the fastest internet and getting the same speeds as the cheapest. Bought Orbi, set up was super simple, and instantly the speed tests where giving us numbers over what we are paying. Pages download in nano seconds, streaming takes seconds, it’s unbelievable! My husband and I are literally mind blown at the difference. Plus there’s no more dead zones in our house! I think my husband has definitely learned a lesson that, if you’re gonna pay the big bucks for the fast internet, pay the big bucks for the equipment that can handle it with a breeze! Regardless of the price, this is by far the best piece of computer equipment I’ve ever purchased and I highly recommend it!

Easy to setup + Wonderful WiFi signal and strength

I had been sick of using weak WiFi after moving to a new home. I tried using WiFi range extender from TP Link which greatly extended the WiFi signal but did not send out strong internet which made me have wide range of low speed internet. So I decided to use a mesh WiFi system and looking into several different manufacturers and their systems. The reviews of AC2200 were pretty ok and seemed easy enough for me to install using my iPhone. In addition, this item was $100 off just the time when I was looking for a new system which was 33% off. I decided to purchase this one, give it a try and return unless this meets my expectation. I installed this right after I picked up from the store. The installation was super easy and straightforward. I first downloaded Orbi app from App Store and then just followed the instruction using the app. No other system could be easier than setting up this WiFi system. I did not have to plug in wired LAN cable, I did not have to use complicated setup interface but a simple app was good enough for everything. Now I have full speed internet everywhere in my house, downstair, main floor, upstair and even out in my yard. I recommend everyone who hesitates to choose what system as long as this is on sale. This could be a bit pricey but wait for the sale, it is quite more frequent than you expect. Enjoy your WiFi and internet.

    Simply Great Coverage

The RBK23w has made my home network much stronger. Before getting the RBK23w there were spots in my home that got a pretty weak WiFi signal. Being able to place the satellites strategically throughout my home has allowed me to fill those holes and provide great covered. I've got a workshop in my backyard that even has coverage now. In the past I've used WiFi extenders, which work great, however they always broadcast a different network name which can be a hassle. The RBK23w will broadcast a single SSID, meaning I don't have to log into different networks to get great coverage. Another great improvement is the size of the satellites. They're very small and can easily be pulled in behind furniture. The setup was breeze and was consistent with other Netgear products I've used. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to improve their home or small business WiFi. I did receive the RBK23w free from Netgear as a part of their review program.

    WiFi Made Simple

The setup could not have been any easier. I downloaded the app onto my android phone and followed through the directions. In less than 10 minutes I had a strong WiFi signal throughout the house. The range and performance had been fantastic. With my networking gear being in an upstairs closet, I have struggled with finding a solution to provide good stable WiFi coverage throughout the house. I have tried powerline extenders (could never find a plug that consistently worked), range extenders (the separate SSIDs were less than ideal), and even wired access points (good performance but difficult to setup). The Orbi system gives me great coverage with very good speed. It has also been very stable. I haven't had to reset at all like some of my older routers. I also like the fact that I can move a satellite close to the garage for coverage when I working out there. Netgear has created a great product that is easy to setup, has great performance, and looks good doing it. I would definitely recommend Orbi to solve your WiFi issues. I received this product as part of the NETGEAR First Look Review Program.

Great value for simple, seamless whole-home wifi

No matter the size of your home you'll always have some spots within or right outside that seem *just* out of reach of your router. This Orbi system is the most simple way to get whole-home wifi, at a competitive price. I've been a longtime user of NETGEAR products. From early B/G routers, to modems and gateways, and even their Nighthawk and Arlo lines. I've tinkered with range extenders, but the secondary networks are always a drag. There are workarounds to use the same SSID, but those work with mixed results. The Orbi system is a next-level product. It starts with the packaging and unboxing process. Its unlike anything else in the NETGEAR catalog, and honestly rivals Apple for the quality of packaging and experience. Setting up your router is simple. I went the route of using the iPhone app, so that I wouldn't be tied to a computer. In just minutes, you'll have the primary router up and running. Placing your satellites is a bit of a game of getting the maximum reach without falling out of proximity of the dedicated AC band. Once you get your satellites in place, though- your wifi will reach dramatically further, with a consistency and low-latency that is unrivaled by most competitors. I do have concerns about the satellites not necessarily playing that nice with a surge protector (design issue), but I do like that these do not have to take counter, desk, or shelf space like the router and original satellites. All in all, I'm impressed by the speed, consistency, design (looks great!), and ease of set up. The Orbi line is incredible, and I look forward to expanding my set up in the coming days. I received my Orbi system at no cost as a member of the NETGEAR First Look review program .

Strong WIFI for the whole home.

At first I was a bit leery of a system like this. I know how it has been in the past trying to get wi-fi access points set up and running smoothly in multiple parts of the house. I feared the same with a system like this. But I was very happy to learn that setup was super easy. I wanted to keep my existing router b/c I had all of my ports setup just they way I wanted. I was very happy to learn that I could just turn of the wi-fi radios on my existing router and plug this unit in and let it take over that functionality. The hardest part of the setup was climbing the ladder to place the base unit (my fault, I put all my hardware up high). Once I had the hardware installed it was very easy to use the app to complete setup. You don't even have to create yet another account! So thankful for that. I have a fairly modest home in size but there is no good place to install the wi-fi where it reaches every room. The Orbi allowed me to install the satellites in the rooms that used to give me the most trouble and I have had zero issues with dead areas since then. And best of all, no resets or drops or any kinds of issues. I've got FiOS and am seeing consistent speeds of 154 down and 162 up over wi-fi. (and I only pay for 150/150) I love being able to easily kill the wi-fi to select devices right through the app. So I can gently urge the kiddo to bed. If there are places in your home that are reliably spotty I definitely recommend the Orbi WiFi System. It's really allowed every room in my house to enjoy the blazing internet speeds we pay for. All in all, this thing simplifies my life and makes wi-fi something I don't need to worry about.
