Love the Orbi, skip the cable modem

Even though it is supposed to work with my provider, it doesn't. I exchanged it for a std orbi router and it works great now.

So many issues and tech support is no help

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got an email from verizon saying that I have almost used all my data for the month, which is weird since I've been working from home (where I'm supposed to have wifi) for the the last 3 months. This router has constantly and continually caused intermittent connectivity issues and the tech department seems to be clueless. The satellite is also as joke as I was told that it cannot be any further away than 20 ft from the base station. Coincidentally I have a car that connects to the wifi, the satellite is right next to the car but for some reason it connects tries to the base station that is probably 50 feet away. Absolute junk!

Enhanced existing WiFi system

Easy to setup and good management tools

Great coverage throughout the whole house

TERRIBLE customer service

Case #43426364 – Dates are to the best of my recollection, based on this terrible customer service Opened on Sunday 9/20. After 90 minutes or more, on the phone, several disconnects causing me to start over with 3 different technicians. I was told a replacement would be sent. The tech advised me that "as long as I clicked the link he sent within 90 minutes, that the replacement would be shipped same day, to arrive 9/21. He advised that I pay the extra fee to overnight it, which I did Monday 9/21 end of day, I called again, another ridiculous wait time, and was told, “oh, you need to send photos of the serial numbers off the devices,” because apparently you do not trust your customers, but whatever, different conversation. So, I sent those in, was assured, “will ship out today” Tuesday, 9/22, yup, no device. Oh wait, another email… now, we need your proof of purchase. You had already validated all of my information via numerous phone calls, and then had me send in the photos of the serial numbers. Still showing a complete lack of trust with your customers, but again, whatever, I sent them in. Tuesday 9/22, I called, again, crazy amount of time to get thru. Agent puts me on hold numerous times, apologizing that she is working from home, and needs to call over to speak with the “team” Um, why was I not speaking to “the team” directly? This is preposterous. Tuesday, 9/22, agent tells me that she can see my proof of purchase has been uploaded, but it is not “linked” in your system, so it still shows pending. I ask for a supervisor. She again, apologizes that she is working from home, and cannot connect me, but has talked to the elusive “team” and assures me that a supervisor will call me back within 1 hour. But she assures me again, that my device will ship today, and arrive Wednesday. Yeah, you see where this is going right? NO CALL BACK Wednesday 9/23, yeah, no device, and I got busy and annoyed, so didn’t bother calling back. Thursday, 9/24, I am, kinda pretty mad at this point. Your service has been horrific. So, I wait on hold another 45 minutes or so, to get to an agent, again, apologizing that she is working from home, and keeps leaving me on hold to talk to “the team.” Comes back with same story…. “a supervisor assures me that they will call you within 3-4 hours.” Thursday 9/24, I tell her that that answer is not good enough, and she needs to connect me to the supervisor. She again, puts me on hold for a crazy long time to talk to the elusive “team.” Funny how they have time to talk to her, but not the client that you have been giving the runaround to for days. So, she comes back on the line, again, “I’m sorry, but a supervisor will call you within 3-4 hours, but your device will ship today.” Friday 9/25, annoyed, no replacement devices. Saturday 9/26, today. Your customer service process is ABYSMAL. I’m struggling to even find new words to explain how TERRIBLE your service is. I need my device. NOW. I have myself, my wife, and my two children, all home trying to remote work and learn, and you guys are making that EVEN MORE challenging that not already is. Have someone call me and GET MY DEVICES SHIPPED.
