plug and play and it works as advertised. I needed a powerline adapter because i had to work from home and wanted a hardwired connection instead of using Wifi and this gets the job done.

Amazing product. This product was recommended by Geek Squad to solve my problem. No internet to the TV due to low internet signal and wifi unit on opposite side of house. Didn't know something like this was available until we were told about it. Saved us, works great, super easy to set up. Very Happy with it.

Powerline networking has a whole lot of gotchas

Ive found that in multiple houses, its a careful dance to get powerline networking to perform anywhere close to the advertised speeds. You must move them around plug to plug to see which has the best speeds. Typically if there are any GFCI/AFC near it will cut it by more than half. Actually anything on the same branch can negatively affect it. This is all models. You will see them go into red mode and come back for no apparent reason. I tried about 10 plugs and was able to get 100mbps finally between two places.

So this power line adapter works great, but not if you need to download or upload anything large. I found other people that had this same experience after I bought it but you only get about 10% of your full internet speed with it although it is very consistent. I get 300mbps and with this adapter I would get 30mbps. I ended up running a flat white Ethernet cable from the router to my pc and attaching it above the floorboard. Now I get about 350mbps even though I pay for 300. And the cable was about 25% of the price as this

Extends the WiFi range in your home using a regular electrical outlet and a Cat 6 Cable so you can hardwire your TV’s, Computers, etc., for a stronger, more reliable internet connection. Extremely helpful with low mbs CenturyLink DSL internet service.

I bought this because I needed an Ethernet port on the other side of my house from the router. It works well for that. This got 4 stars instead of 5 because the TPLink version gave me a faster wired connection speed.

Living in a two story house can be troublesome with the demands of today's technology, particularly our connection to the internet. How can we possibly accommodate our gaming and streaming needs? Fear not, you can have an Ethernet port wherever you have an electrical outlet. My brother's room is in the basement and our router is located on the first floor, it has a priority there for other devices that need the direct connection. We even have a Nighthawk router, which is fantastic, but my brother's gaming had too much lag. With the easy set up of the Netgear Powerline 1200, his computer was connected by Ethernet to the router and the ping dramatically decreased. I plan on buying more Netgear Powerlines for when I move into an apartment or house and can't reach the router from every room. Seriously, buy a Powerline.

Was looking for a way to extend my networking into the living room as a wifi extender just wouldn't cut it. Medium tech level to install - other than that works great - Family is now enjoying netflix with no problems.

This technology has improved to the point it is really usable. I had an odd dead space in back of the house and used this to put an old router in operation to cover it. Can't tell any speed difference between original and old router speeds.

If you're trying to decided between the 1200 and the 2000 please read this. In my experience there is a big difference in capability between the 1200 and the 2000. I originally bought the 1200 but returned it for the 2000. I pay for 150mbs speed internet. With the 1200 I was getting speeds of 70mbs on a different floor. With the 2000 I get 130mbs on a different floor (tested the same outlet). Thats almost doubling my speed and the price difference is only $10-$20. Some may so you won't notice a difference but to me I want to get as close to speeds that I'm paying.

This Ethernet adapter works just as well as a direct cable. You just hook it up to house power by plugging it in to the wall. At the other end you plug it in again and then attach it to the back of your TV.
