Wasn’t sure if this would work for my needs, I was wrong it works great at 60 feet away and I have 2/3 signal bars at all times!

My house has some pretty thick concrete walls, preventing good WiFi connectivity if I get too far from the router. I bought these Ethernet adapters after reading how they'd use the house electrical system to boost the signal. Did they? Well, yes, they did, as advertised. I connected a remote (i.e., in another room far from the router) computer to the adapter and had a lightning fast connection. But (and there's always a "but"), my other wifi accessories (mouse and keyboard) would no longer work. The adapter for the wireless mouse and keyboard was connected, but for some reason refused to work. I ended up taking the NETGEAR system back.

Powerline networking has a whole lot of gotchas

Ive found that in multiple houses, its a careful dance to get powerline networking to perform anywhere close to the advertised speeds. You must move them around plug to plug to see which has the best speeds. Typically if there are any GFCI/AFC near it will cut it by more than half. Actually anything on the same branch can negatively affect it. This is all models. You will see them go into red mode and come back for no apparent reason. I tried about 10 plugs and was able to get 100mbps finally between two places.

plug and play and it works as advertised. I needed a powerline adapter because i had to work from home and wanted a hardwired connection instead of using Wifi and this gets the job done.

So this power line adapter works great, but not if you need to download or upload anything large. I found other people that had this same experience after I bought it but you only get about 10% of your full internet speed with it although it is very consistent. I get 300mbps and with this adapter I would get 30mbps. I ended up running a flat white Ethernet cable from the router to my pc and attaching it above the floorboard. Now I get about 350mbps even though I pay for 300. And the cable was about 25% of the price as this

i installed these easily and set them up (basically no setup required -- just plug them in according to the pictures/instructions), and i was online! frustratingly, the speed was very inconsistent. the speed indicator led would be green (> 80Mbps), but then cycle between amber (between 5Mbps and 80Mbps) and red (< 5Mbps). i'm using this to connect to my work network, through an SSL VPN, so when the speed drops like that, the VPN connection became very unstable. that was unacceptable, so i took it back and bought a google wifi 3-pack. it's a lot more expensive, but gives me thorough wifi coverage, and very fast wired access at each unit.

I came home with my adapters and plugged them into outlets near my router and near my TV. Plugged one cable from the adapter to my router, likewise from the other to my TV. Voila! Instant connection! Needless to say that I was pleased. It solved my problem immediately, and now I have a constant speedy connection for my smart TV

Extends the WiFi range in your home using a regular electrical outlet and a Cat 6 Cable so you can hardwire your TV’s, Computers, etc., for a stronger, more reliable internet connection. Extremely helpful with low mbs CenturyLink DSL internet service.

I have an XBox 360 and a Samsung DVD/Home Theater System that wasn't working well on wi-fi (buffering issues using MLB.TV, Hulu and Netflix). Adding the powerline adapter improved performance. I am living in a new house, and max connectivity is around 50Mbps. Network drops have been reduced and buffering reduced, however, they still happen. Total distance between the adapters are about 25 feet (on connecting rooms - different electrical circuit). I was disappointed in the performance. However, it is still better than wi-fi.

Amazing product. This product was recommended by Geek Squad to solve my problem. No internet to the TV due to low internet signal and wifi unit on opposite side of house. Didn't know something like this was available until we were told about it. Saved us, works great, super easy to set up. Very Happy with it.

I bought this because I needed an Ethernet port on the other side of my house from the router. It works well for that. This got 4 stars instead of 5 because the TPLink version gave me a faster wired connection speed.
