The router performs well and solved my problem of poor wireless signal at the far end of my house. Once I got it set up, I just forgot about it and it works well. However, setup could be easier. It has a built in wizard that asks questions and gives explanations that are not really intuitive. I wanted to set it up so the 5GHz band was the dedicated pipe to the main router and the 2.4 GHz band was used by the wireless devices. The descriptions were confusing so I just had to use some trial and error to figure it out. There were some times in the setup wizard when it was waiting for me to click a button that seemed like it was going to erase everything and start over, but when I finally clicked it anyway, it rebooted and put me in the right direction. It worked, it just wasn't intuitive. Overall, I like most Netgear products and this is one of them. I find with Netgear, I either really like the product or hate it. This is a keeper despite the lacking setup interface.

Good Value as an Access Point...

But unimpressive as an extender due to drop in speed (overall connection was 'stronger' over a wider area when sharing my AT&T's 2Wire SSID, but speed test performance was halved overall for everything, making it unhelpful.) Fortunately, I expected that may happen due to research prior to buying and I was replacing a failing wired independent SSID access point anyway, so connecting the new Netgear unit via an Ethernet cable and configuring it as an AP to better cover the weaker parts of our house works just fine. The Netgear App recommended to help manage the device is useless once you set the AP up, and wifi devices (ie, Pixel 2 and Google Home Mini) occasionally lag awkwardly before reconnecting if/when sleeping, but speeds and overall reliability over the old AP are improvements that make the purchase worth the $50 price.

I was skeptical since some articles I had read that range extenders were not that good. That is not true with this product. My router is upstairs in my office and I needed a boost of power for my TiVo Roamio Pro downstairs. The TiVo went from an average of 60% to 85/90%. I had talked to a BB associate who gave me a short education on range extenders and recommended this one. I am glad he did. It works great

Our wireless network was not cutting it very well with the Infinity tower. This unit pushed up our speed to 144 Mbps. Not sure what it was before, but the Samsung BluRay player was not seeing the router. It did for awhile, but stopped seeing it for some reason. The placement of the Infinity router is upstairs about 25 feet away. The Netgear is downstairs where the player, laptops, tablets are. Works very well.

Easy setup and satisfied with the extended coverage. My router is in the corner of the second floor of my house. I placed the extender in the center of the second floor next to the stairwell. I now have good coverage for the entire first floor including the living room, good enough to stream internet movies to the TV. Size of home is 1820 square feet.

I have tried similar products in the past, but have been sorely disappointed. This NETGEAR product has totally resolved our "dead zone" issues. Strongly recommend it to others who are dealing with similar issues.

I needed a way to connect two wired network segments and this device made it easy to do that. I have a wireless router on the first story with 4 devices connected via the built-in gigabit switch. I setup the wireless range extender to send all traffic via a dedicated wireless N network. I was using PoE adapters before and this new setup has decreased my internet latency by a minimum of 500 to 1500 ms.

I had a dead spot in a corner of my home. I had an Ethernet port for the Blu-ray player about 12 feet away. Connected the range extender to the Ethernet port and connected the Blu-ray player to one of the extender's ports. Dead spot is taken care of and Blu-ray player works flawlessly. Took about 5 minutes to install. Unit already had newest version of firmware which is required if you want to use it as an access point. No problems so far.
