Great Wi-Fi Signal over a very long distance!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1750mbps is a pretty solid speed. But the est parts of this router is the long range signal strength and continuous high speed contectivity. It also will be a descent amount of time before technology passes it by and it becomes outdated. I also tried out the 600 and 900 series before I purchased this one, and although the rep said that it was more than I needed for what I wanted to do, this was the only router out of the three that runs perfectly all olf the time and nevers gives me any lag, disconects or other problems.

Getting more signals without the wires!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. Initially I purchased a wireless booster to get internet across the street to my home. Still had the same amount of signals with that and my Verizon wirelss router across the street. So, I returned that and got this placing it in my attic. Now my home is covered with internet from across the street. So if you already have a few signals reaching your laptop, get this and place it high above. (Less cars in between.) Geek squad helped explain how to make it work and how easy it is to use it. After pressing on the WPS button and then the Verzon button, i found it in my other networks on my mac, then when i tried to open a page, it took me automatically to the settings page. I got confused at the part when it asked me what my Passphrase should be. I entered any name but when it ased for Key, I put the same Verzon password that comes on my Verizon Wireless router. After that was done, it asked you to check a box if its connected or not. Even if you check it, and press continue, I wasnt connected. You have to go back to "look for network" and find the new network name and add your old (Verizon) passord. So all this took me 5 minutes with both wireless devices. I unplugged the new device, walked across the street, went to my attic and plugged it in. Told myself I'd write a good review and hope I did. So I found my magic device that can finally work. Hope my instructions helped because I got confused (e.g. what the hell is a passphrase and key) and had to ask someone that knows his stuff as Best Buy and figure it out. I dont think there are any other stores like Best Buy that lets you play with their products until you find the right one which I finally did. Thanks Best Buy!

Superb performance!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does eliminate wireless dead zones! This range extender works great. It's dual-band design did work at speeds up to 300 + 300 Mbps. I'm using one wired port to connect desktop PC in my living room. With this range booster I get the same quality and strength from my wireless network at any spot in my house. I set it up around 60 feet away from my main wireless router and it works great! I do recommend it 100%

Easy to set-up for most...no hassles
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unit to extended my wireless signal into the back yard of my home. My router is located at the front of the house, near the cable modem. Following the directions, I was able to set it up in less than 10 minutes. Now my signal is strong throught my property so I can enjoy my laptop or iPad while outside with no signal loss. This is a Dual Band unit so it works great with my existing dual band router. It is also capable of using your existing network password so you don't have anything new to remember. Perfect! Not 5 star only because I just recently installed it.... Time will tell.

Exceeded my expectations!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Things do not usually happen for me as advertised. It seems that I end up having to use the more complex methods of installation when it comes to technology. However, this was not the case with the Netgear Dual Band Range Extender. Plug it in, push a button on the Netgear and then push a button on the router (Cisco Linksys EA 4500) and the 2.4 network comes up. Push the buttons again, and the 5 ghz network comes up. It was all done within five minutes. I was worried that I had done something wrong. It was too simple. There was absolutely no pain in this installation. Now we are getting more bars and higher transfer rates at longer distances in this case this was our screened in porch. I was worried that I would have a compatibility issue between the Netgear Range Externder and the Cisco Linksys Router. As advertised, it does connect to different Routers other than Netgear. By the way, Cisco Linksys does not currently offer a dual band range externder so that is why I chose this particular unit. I think that you will be very satisfied with this product.

Good for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hardware was very easy to set up. Configuring the extender was a little of a challenge because there are several options and I was not aware that the extender creates a separate ID on the network. This means you have to configure some of your devices to the new ID. I also did not get much range when I tried to use the 5G mode but this may also have to do with the compatability with my devices. I have it configured under 2.4G and works great.

Excellent product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are temporarily living in South America where houses are made out of concrete, brick, and sander blocks and getting a good signal from our wireless router downstairs to our upstairs bedroom was a challenge. After a careful selection we opted for this product and we love it. It was very easy to set-up and use. It acts as a second wireless router with the same security features as our main router. We placed it upstairs and now all parts of the house have a signal, even out by the pool! The only thing you have to do is make sure you find the best location for it where you will get the best signal. Excellent product!

Can be tough to set up but works great after!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can set this range extender in two ways, by pressing the WPS button in back and then coordinating that with your wireless router or you can do it the old fashioned way. I did the WPS way and the first time I tried it it didn't take so I had to do it again, but that time it took and I've been online with it since. It works great to not only add range to your home's wifi but also gives you the ability to network devices that don't do wifi such as blu-ray/dvd players, TVs or STBs. My only complaint, and that's from pure laziness, is that you have to run through the setup twice if you want both 2.4 and 5 Ghz wifi as the first press of WPS only sets up 2.4. It would be nice if it did both at the same time, but like I said, that's just me being lazy...

Great value; produces strong signal; easy config
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a complex home network with 8 PCs, 2 printers, DVR, Slingbox, IP hardphone and two wireless networks to span the entire house (3,400 sq ft). This router is easy to configure. Bascially, it creates a duplicate of your existing wireless network with the same seetings except for a different SSID. The signal produced covers a large area and is reliable and fast.

Good product - extends the range way into backyard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I can just keep it linked to my printer/laptop, I'll be ok - but it keeps going offline and not recognizing my printer then I have to set up the WEP code again. That is a pain - otherwise, the range extension is great! Love using it in my backyard or on my deck.

Seamless for people with WPS-enabled routers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having weak signal problems in the opposite corner of my house. I took this unit out of the box and plugged it into an open outlet in the middle of my house where I still had a strong signal, but on the other side of a stairwell that may have been causing the signal to weaken. I turned the power on, pressed the WPS button on the back of the unit, pressed the WPS button on the existing wireless router in my computer room, and I was connected in 60 seconds. Then I searched for the new wireless network and entered the same password as the existing network with each device to connect them to the new network. (I could have avoided this purchase if I could have put my original wireless network router in the same location, but that was impractical.) I now have full bar signal strength in my basement, kitchen and upstairs MBR, areas that were constantly suffering from weak signal. It is important to put the unit in a central location where it can grab and relay a strong signal. If you locate the unit too far from your existing wireless router, you are just repeat a weak signal. My wireless network is 2.4 GHZ.

Good speed, easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought dual router due to large number of wireless connections to my network. Setup took about 10 minutes. As long as you follow the directions you shouldn't have any problems. Increased the speed of my network and also expanded the range. Have two story house with basement and am able to get connection throughout the house and even a bit outside where I couldn't before. Overall, good product.

Great range extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marries perfectly with my Netgear N600 router. Placed it near other end of home where the signal was weak (or in the case of the mussus' iPad, intermitent). No dead spots anymore and plenty of bandwidth for watching movies. Plus it handles dual band A/G and B.

Great extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this along with the R6300 router since my Apple airport died. I have a fairly large home and extending the 5Ghz range throughout my house was important. This along with the router have done that. I can get the 5Ghz all the way thru my house (over 2,200 sq feet) and up the street a bit as well. Make sure you set all wireless on this to use the 5Ghz back to router, even if your wireless accessory only uses 2.4Ghz so you get max speed. The setup took a bit, even with the push button security, but once you get it, it will work fantastic

Very workable unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device itself works very well and I like having the option of the two channels. This versatility allows me to set up different devices (we use 8 devices each day connected to wifi) on each of the cHannes to maximize the signal. My only complaint is not with the product, but with tech support from Net gear.

Extended my wifi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just ordered my second one. My existing wireless router is in the middle of my 1800 sq foot house. Added one extender on east side so I can access wifi from driveway, now I am ordering my second for the west side of my house so I can use wifi on my deck. Well worth the price to access internet from whole house.

Great Product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have att u verse and I didn't think it would work, but it did! Its fantastic, it only took me like 15 min. to set up. No cables and no cd set up, just power on and connect. Instruction manual was easy to follow as well. Over all I'm very happy! I even get full bars in my back yard!

Easy network extension
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've waited for a product that would allow you to easily extend a wi-fi network. I originally bought this so I could extend the network and plug-in a computer network cable in the back but this has turned out to be really useful for other devices that were dropping the wi-fi connection (like my wife's loudy cellphone). It was very easy to setup. My only quibble was that the link to check for firmware updates didn't work. It would get redirected to... nothing. But everything has been working great.

Better than average
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to buy this since my Netgear WD4000 did not send out a signal as far as advertised. I live in a 3 story townhouse, but living area is mainly top two floors. The extender help give me a stronger signal for my X-BOX and smart TV downstairs as access point is on third floor. Had to email support help to configure it as nothing seems to be plug and play when you have Verizon Fios internet (its wireless signal really sucked). Email support was very fast and correct so kudos to Netgear
