WORKS GREAT FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE POSITIONED IT IN FAR CORNER OF HOME AND I GET GREAT SIGNAL THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE HOUSE!!

Bought the NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Dual-Band Range Extender with 4-Port Ethernet Switch to work with my WDR4500 wireless unit to extend the 2.5 & 5 GHz range in the house for computers and wireless TV connections. Installaiton was easy and after updating the software, I connected a computer and TV to it. I found has done the job and I have good signal/connectivity so far. Pay attention to the initial set up directions and it should work fine.

We use the extender to get the signal from a metal building into a separate office building. We are very happy with its performance.

I purchased this device because I need a Wifi Repeater, which I now believe is equivalent to a Wifi Booster. This device, however, is a Wifi Extender. An Extender creates new access points. For example, if my original Wifi Access point is "MyAccessPoint", then the Extender creates "MyAccessPoint_EXT". This forces users to decide which Access Point to connect to. I do not want to impose this restriction on devices which should be able to roam from one end of the property to the other without losing connection. Therefore, I will return this Extender and exchange for a Booster. My relatively low rating is because I found it almost impossible to determine that this device created additional Access Points until after I opened the package. In addition, the WPS setup did not work.

Worked great out the box. Easy to setup up and configure. Did exactly as it was expected to do. If you need to extend the range of your wireless network, I recommend this one.

This is the second one I purchased. I bought it as a gift as I have the same one in my home as it works great. Both homes are now running better.

This product does as advertised. It creates a wired connection for my son's PS3 & Xbox. The wireless connection he had previously always disconnected him from multi-player lobbies and gave him a strict to moderate Nat Type. Now with his wired connection, his Nat Type is always Open Status, he downstreams/upstreams data much faster and he enjoys his connections. He hosts many of the lobbies whereas he was unable to before. He is also able to invite ALL his friends whereas he had difficulty doing that in the past.The Extender is paired with a NetGear N900, so be prepared to pay handsomely for this luxury!

I moved into an apartment where my landlords, who live upstairs, pay for our cable. That's awesome, except that means I don't have direct access to the modem. And if I don't have direct access to the modem then I cant connect a LAN line to my tv or surround sound. This product has allowed me to fullfill this need without breaking the bank. It was a snap to install and it works like a gem.

The product does what it says and is easy to setup. It works well. If you want to extend the range of your home WIFI, this gadget does it well.

Bought this wifi extender to broaden the reach of the very slow satellite "High Speed" internet service I have in my rural location. The devices that are used upstairs in the opposite corner of the location of the router can now reliably browse the internet and perform normal device gaming. The install was fairly simple using an ethernet cord. Prior to this device, the netwrok could not be found and now we have atleast 4 bars if not the full 5 bars connectivity.

Eady to setup, works well in my store to extend the wifi. Saved me from running cat5 lines above the ceiling!

The device is very nice for me and my neighbors to share an internet connection for 4 apartments. Generally, more than 10 devices are connected and it works well. Unfortunately, just a month later( I purchased it on June, 6th), it died on July 9th. After spending 50minutes on making a call to Netgear customer support, they said they will replace a new one for me. However, to my surprise, as a customer, who received a BAD product, I was required to return the defective product to NETGEAR and pay for about $10 on shipping and handling. I haven't got the replacement so far, however, I won't purchase NETGEAR anymore for the so-called limited warranty. By the way, the speed of this extend is fast, however, it might take longer to provide an IP address than routers.

This is a product I would recommend to all. Ive been scared to use this devices and gave it a try. The problem I have was I you get and hard wire ethernet internet connection inside a garage about 150ft away from one side of a house thru 2 walls passing outside the house and back in. This unit found the existing wifi signal boosted and allowed me to do programming etc thru the extisting modems wifi. you have to get this it really works problem solved and your done!

I bought this extender since i have the netgear 3400 router. The first one set up easy and worked wonderful, no issues for 2 months. then it acted up drop connections. Called support after allot of language issues told me to take it back to best buy. Well i am on my 4 extender in 2 months of exchanging them with no results same story talk to a person that is hard to understand then they tell me it is defective and exchange it. (trust me the support is long process) Im glad BB exchange within year no problems but i wish they would let me exchange for different model and pay the difference.

I don't really know if the extender did anything. I have my pc wired, and an apple tv connected it to it via wifi. I am still experiencing lag in pc games, and pauses on netflix. I don't want to give up on this product because I am not sure if it is actually working or not. I need help please.

Tried to chat and call GeekSquad, but nobody there could offer any help. Tried to connect using all the methods in the manual, but no connection. Result, an expensive waste of time and money. WIll get something elsewhere.

In upstairs office. Was at 6.36 Mbps, increased to 18.3 Mbps with extender via wifi; with Cat4 cable from laptop to extender increased to 34.72 Mbps (446%)! Note: my MacBook Air does NOT need the extender and actually works better without it (26.48 Mbps). The tech said this is typical - Apple's components are simply better. It only gets to 16.4 Mbps with the extender (actually got up to 19.04 on 2nd try).

Very easy setup!!! About 5-10 minutes. Works great!!!!! I have full coverage in my entire yard.
