If you need an extender, use this one for long distance. Just make sure you don’t have too many hard surfaces between this unit and your actual WiFi router. It will work through brick, stone and multiple walls. Currently have unit about 75 feet away from unit through multiple walls.

This has done exactly that. Having the separate network to log into is no big deal, especially when wifi speeds aren't interrupted.
