Customers are pleased with the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender's ease of use, Wi-Fi range, and signal strength. Many appreciate its quick setup, compact size, and good performance for the price. However, some experienced connection instability, and compatibility issues were also reported by a few users. The Ethernet port was a welcome feature for some.

A very good at what they said it would do. Therefore not worth the high price for what it won't do.

Once I got it working, it creates better coverage than my old Netgear WNDR3700 BGN router from 2011. Apparently, you cannot use MAC filtering at all with this device and it is necessary to use a network cable to configure successfully. I also had to do a firmware upgrade to get it all ironed out. So after 4 hours of piddling around with it here are rest of the setup instructions:
You must turn MAC filtering off it you are using it.
Your wireless SSID must be broadcast. If it isn't, neither the setup wizard nor manual setup will ever recognize and connect with the network.
Check the Netgear support site for firmware upgrade (which must be done with a network cable#
Finally, successful configuration happens quickly with the network cable plugged in #note: the default address for the Extender is 192.168.1.250)
Once you get through setup, it work fantastic..

Tried this and I lost all internet, called customer service listed in the instruction booklet, they patched me into someone in India who got into my daughter's computer and then told us to send him $$ to clean things up.
We hung up on him. Called Netgear, they said my original warranty (on my router) was expired and they couldn't give me any tech support. We returned the extender, and bought a higher powered router instead.

Although it was easy to setup, it really didn't work well in my home. Do yourself a favor and invest in a better router like I did.
