Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender's ease of use, Wi-Fi range, and signal strength. Many appreciate its quick setup, compact size, and good performance for the price. However, some experienced connection instability, and compatibility issues were also reported by a few users. The Ethernet port was a welcome feature for some.

I was looking for a way to extend the range of the router for my Verizon FIOS network. The FIOS router is in an addition built on to my house, and the brick and mortar walls of the original house degraded the signal from the router, plus we could not get a good connection in the basement. I bought this range extender because it was small, plugged directly into the wall (no cord, no need to put the unit on a table, etc.), and claimed to be easy to set up. I followed the directions that came in the box, plugged it in to an outlet near the FIOS router, and just had to switch to my Win7 laptop to do the initial connection to the extender (Win8 was too new and I couldn't get the wifi connections up). Once the setup was complete, I moved the extender into the original house and plugged it in to an outlet with line-of-sight to the FIOS router. Within a minute or so, the extender was showing green lights and I was able to start configuring devices to use it. It performed well the first evening, allowing my daughter to stream a Netflix movie through our Roku at the same time that my son was streaming another Netflix movie on his Xbox in the basement. Before installing the extender, neither device worked well to stream movies due to constant buffering and lagging. We have only had the extender for a few days, but so far it is great. I did buy the 2 year replacement plan, as some reviews said that the extender died after a few months. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

These are gimmicks and do not work. I have tried many and they make it look as though u have full signal. However, actually having internet is a different story all together. They don't work You want good signal keep your hard earned cash and go for a better router.

Works great. Electric plug in near the wireless router and pushed the buttons in the instructions on the router and device and it installed itself. It automatically picked up my long phrase password on the router. Then I unplugged it and moved it where I had the weak signal and it worked. Easy. Now, you DO need to go to your all computers, iPads, and/or smart-phones you own and SEARCH for the new wireless router network which this is. It will mirror your existing one with the letters "-EXT" at the end. I have a Droid, iPad, Iphone, a laptop and Macbook, and they all had to be manually configured to find and setup the new wireless network but is the same as you would any place wireless is offered, find it and connect with your router's password (dig it up since you last set it up). Lastly, When you move from one side of the house to the other, you need to switch the wireless router on them to get the stronger of the two signals.

The idea of this product is great, except the installation instructions are terrible, I had to look for advise regarding entering the paswords on the net to make it work. After about 7 days it just reset itself and I was NOT able to make it work again. It is beeing return to Best Buy tomorrow.

I needed this item as a wireless to wired converter for a device I own which can only handle wired Ethernet. This item seemed to fit the bill but setting it up on my network was a pain. In addition, it did not work as expected. Never again

I needed an extender to help the internet reception in my garage and this did not help one bit. I am going to return it and look into another option. A friend recommended I get one of these but it has not helped the situation one bit.

Though the installation process was easy, it did not work well. When it was working it did a good job however, it would consistently cause the signal to get glitchy and completely stop working causing the router to need to be reset frequently. It became more of a problem than it was worth.

We couldn’t get it to work. We have Spectrum and we’re told it sometimes doesn’t work with Spectrum. So we returned it. It had nothing to do with the product. Wouldn’t suggest it to a friend if they have Spectrum.
