Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender's ease of use, Wi-Fi range, and signal strength. Many appreciate its quick setup, compact size, and good performance for the price. However, some experienced connection instability, and compatibility issues were also reported by a few users. The Ethernet port was a welcome feature for some.

I plugged the extender into the wall, walked to my router and pushed the WPS button. DONE. We have more portable devices in the house than ever. We used to have places where it was not possible to stream music or video. No such problem now. Even outside the house we can stream video with no issues. This really did the job and was so easy to install with my Netgear router.

Works great - used with Cisco router

Use with a Cisco router upstairs and I put it on the first floor on the other end of the house. Signal now is great in basement and backyard by pool, where there was no signal before. I've had it over a month and have had to reset it a couple of times maybe. But pushing a button on it and my router was all it took. Very satisfied with the extender.

Not for 5.0 GHz, 2.4 GHz only

This product works great at 2.4 GHz however if you have a router that supports 5.0 GHz, which all newer smart devices - phones, tablets, and TVs use, buy a range extender that supports 5.0 GHz. i.e. Dual band. You will increase you download speed by at least 50%. I wish the guy at Best Buy would have told me that.

I have a 2-3 year old netgear 150. Operational cost r $10/month w comcast. Installed this device approx 15 yds away w direct line of sight. Goes all the way 2 end of my shoebox home down hallway where wife runs a samsung galaxy note 3 which god forbid ever go on 4g! 99% of my internet is via wifi & my data plan is 300 mb/mo @ $20. I'll take my wifi over 4g any day. & that range extender was a great investment!

    Excellent WiFi Range Extender

After a bad experience with a Linksys extender I had almost given up on getting a strong WiFi signal in the farthest reaches of a large three story house. Netgear's extender, however, was a snap to install and its reach is extraordinary. The bad part of it is that my tablet never leaves my hands now, no matter where I go in the house.

    Performs as advertised

Device was set up in a total of 5 minutes - two minutes to unpack and read the simple instructions, 2 minutes to plug in and connect to the router (a NetGear) and 1 minute to establish a connection to my computer. I found no loss of speed through the extender compared to directly connecting to my router with comparable signal strength.. The signal was boosted significantly since my office computer was right on the fringe of the router signal. Another reliable product from NetGear.

I've had this product for several months now and I can say with certainty now that this was worth the money. Where we have the router in the house I was struggling to get a good wifi connection in areas of the house where wireless devices try to connect. Since purchasing this and setting up, I haven't needed to touch it and I get great WiFi in all areas of the house. Great purchase and highly recommended!

I would definitely recommend this to others. It was easy to set up. We run 4 iPhones, 2 ipads, several laptops and 2 gaming systems through the wifi. It works like a champ. Very quick and very reliable. Great buy! Great product!

I have a Cisco router and this Netgear extender was compatible. The setup was fairly easy and the range is reasonable. The only complaint is that the signal is lost once in awhile but not very often.

I was only getting 2.5 to 2.7mbs on my Intel Compute Chip. This extender increased my speed to between 8.97 and 9.85 as checked online via Speakeasy speed test. No more hesitation or dropping while streaming video. Distance was around 55 feet with two right angle walls from router to TV. Placed extender a little more than half way towards TV. Easy Setup.

I live in a two story house, and our router is upstairs. When downstairs, our laptop would frequently lose signal, and I would have to reset the wireless connection, sometimes several times in a fifteen minute span. I would go upstairs to get online rather than deal with the bad connection. I decided to try the Netgear Wireless extender to see if it would help. I'm pleased to say that it does. I just got home, followed the instructions, and now I'm downstairs, on my laptop, with a solid connection that has been on now for about 30 minutes straight without needing to reset my wireless adapter even once. I love it! Not sure why some people reported having issues, but I suppose they either weren't following directions, or think an extender will somehow make their connection faster-this isn't true because your device will route through the extender, THEN to the router. I wouldn't recommend this type of setup for a gamer, as I think it would cause more lag, not less. As far as connecting devices in parts of your house that have a poor wireless connection, this device is definitely the ticket!

If you are looking for a wireless network repeater you need look no further! THIS PRODUCT IS THE LICK!!! Your browser will automatically open up to the setup page, all you have to do is follow the prompts. Works good but thought it simply extended the wifi range but it creates a second wifi area that your phone has to switch over to - still work to have wifi in my garage but not as smooth to connect as I would like

We read a lot of the other reviews and after purchasing we have to wonder about some of these people ... I will say this We have a NetGear Router and a NetGear Switch and perhaps having all our network products from the same Mfg is why this was so easy to add to our network. How We are set up We are on FiOS and wifi is turned off on the FiOS router and our NetGear WNDR3700 is our wifi station and wired router we also have an 8 port Netgear gigabit switch attached to the router. We plugged in the NetGear Universal WiFi range Extender and ethernet port into an outlet in our living room where we have very little wifi signal usually 20% to 30% Next we turned the Unit on waited for the light to go green... Next tapped the WPS button on the extender walked into the office and tapped the WPS switch on our WNDR3700 router and waited for them to sync up which they did. Checked using my wifi app on my android phone whether our new extender was available which it was and notated by the fact it was using our SSID with _EXT after it. finally we plugged our xBOx 360 into the extender with a ethernet cat6 cable and our xBox has internet too. I cant state how easy all of this was a lot of Mfgs have WPS capabilities built in... Was it the fact all our stuff is NetGear? I dont know all I can say is we have massive wifi signal now out in our living room.

I had difficulty in setting this wireless range extender up using its WPS function, so I used the manual install and it was easy and worked the first time. Since my wireless router is from D-Link, I assumed the WPS was not going to be as simple as the documentation stated. Manual install was a breeze. Great product.

Bought this so my daughter could use her tablet in her upstairs bedroom since our router was in the basement 2 floors down. Bought this to give it a try and it works perfect. My daughter has no problem watching netflix now. Simple set up too. Took no more then 10 minutes to have it up and running. Our router is from Xifinity and had no problems
