Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender's ease of use, Wi-Fi range, and signal strength. Many appreciate its quick setup, compact size, and good performance for the price. However, some experienced connection instability, and compatibility issues were also reported by a few users. The Ethernet port was a welcome feature for some.

    Never got it to work.

After several calls to the product help line and many attempts following the instructions given, it never worked. It repeatedly told me to move the device closer to my wireless router. It was 4 feet away and connected with an ethernet cable to the computer. If it wouldn't work 4 feet away, how would it ever work as a range extender? I returned it.

    never worked with our wifi

I purchased the unit to "extend" our wifi to areas with low coverage in our home...it set up OK, BUT each time you used a device it auto logged onto the extender band and required a user name and password for each use...it never allowed a device to store it as a known wifi. too big a mess to use it so I returned it for a Mac Airport Express.

Did not do what it promised.

If this device did what it promised it would be great. It was a little tricky to connect. Once connected it worked fine, but it kept dropping the connection. Sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a day of staying connected. Each time it dropped the connection I had to reset the entire device and start over. Not very convenient.

I purchased this product, for the second time, less than 25 days ago. It has already stop working. The first one lasted about 2 years. The Best Buy store in Mansfield, Texas, would not take it back. I am done with Best Buy and Netgear.

I have been trying to set this up to my current wifi for the past 2 days and It doesn't work. I called a netgear 1800 number for help and all I got was somebody telling me I need it to buy a firewall for $200 for the extender to work. Save yourself time and a headache and get something else.

    Netgear sucks - period.

Don’t waste a dime on netgear products. Then, after following all instructions with no success because it’s JUNK, it’s impossible to get support on their website. Terrible is my rating, I gave it 1 star but I would give it a -5 star rating if I could.

I purchased this extender, in the hope it would give me better coverage. After following install instructions, this extender would not recognize my Netgear N600 router. Sadly, I returned it the next day. Thank you Best Buy for the fast delivery, and no hassle return.

I tried to install several times over a 4 day period, It would not reconize my home network. It would reset every computer the playstation and my printer and I would have to reset my router and each device, very time consuming. I returned for a refund.

I tried setting it up using the "push 'n' connect" feature and it didn't work, even though I have a Netgear router. I tried multiple different set ups and connection types and nothing worked. This product is being returned tomorrow. DO NOT BUY!!

It worked OK for about 14 months then died

It worked OK while it lasted. I only had to re-set it once - but after about 13-14 months, it just stopped working (went dead, only hums). For this amount of money ($70) I expected it to last longer. Poor quality unit.

Set up was easy worked great for the first day. Day 2, it started asking for password. No problem right? Wrong, denied access. After trying to completely start over twice. I gave up. Junk
