Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

    Easy & Fast

I had to replace my old Linxys router, b/c it wasn't compatible with my new laptop (Windows 7). I checked all of the reviews online and this Netgear router consistently received great reviews. I chose this model due to the reviews and for the multi-use feature for gaming, laptops & phones in a multi-level home (2 story). So far our PS3, laptops and computer have been running much faster with this router. It was incredibly easy to set up as well and fits nice & neat on it's small stand upstairs. We use all of our wireless gadgets downstairs. We've had this router for a month and I'm much more satisfied with it than I was with the Linxys. Even the store rep mentioned that this model never gets returned, b/c it's that good. Hopefully the router will continue to impress for a few more years.

Wanted to make use of my wireless automation, so went on the hunt for a wireless router that was simple to install, had internal antennas, and could reach anywhere in my multiple level home. I was neutral with what brand to purchase and when it came down to it, cost prevailed. I went with the N 300, even though the charts on the back of the box did not include larger homes or multiple floors (the dual band did, but cost a bit more). I have had no issues. My router sits up stairs near the front of the house and reaches me downstairs in the back of the house with no problems. It picked up my Wii game system with no problems and I was finally able to update it, something we had never done in the year and a half we've owned it. Simple to use, easy to install, and good solid signal.

Works great, range is excellent; I get max signal from a wireless card hooked up to my other PC clear across my living room and upstairs; something my old router (an earlier model Netgear) could not handle. I also use this router for my PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii; I have never had any connection issues while using Netgear routers. The only issue that I ran into was when I tried to import my settings file from my older model Netgear wireless router; it would not accept the file, so I had to configure everything manualy again in order to get my same settings to keep everything on my network running with their current settings. This router looks sleek, it performs well & is probably the most affordable good quality wireless-N router you can get.

Literally just plugged it in. Connection seems strong, we'll see if it's consistent. Set up was fairly easy, not the "five minutes" everyone is saying, but a reasonable 25 minutes, but nonetheless completely painless– easy to follow, animated set up instructions, clear as day. This is replacing a not-so-user-friendly, inconsistent, AND more expensive router. I'm very happy so far. Only thing to complain about is the site it takes you to to let you know it's connected to the internet: it's automatically preset to a PC format, which is dumb for us Mac users. But that being the only gripe, I think this is an awesome product, especially for the price! It seems tiny and powerful...hopefully it'll work down by the pool!

    Great Router

I bought this router on the adivce of a sales associate and I'm very happy with his recommendation. Setup was a breeze. Adding other wireless laptops and devices in the home was simple. Very happy with the speed and performance so far. It also seems to provide strong encryption for security against hackers or people trying to piggyback on my household Wi Fi. My only complaint is with Netgear's email and online tech support. When you install the router, you can choose to have a html doc placed on your desktop with the router info. However, it you do something like changing the router password, the html doesn't update and I see no way to manually update it. Netgear's online KB didn't address this so I sent an email to tech support. I got back a response from a tech with a canned response on how to change my password, which was not my issue. The guy either didn't read my email or failed to understand it. I replied requesting an escalation of my issue to someone who can actually advise me on what to do. But other than this, I strongly recommend this router for great perfromance at a budget price.

    Super Easy Install

Installing and using this wireless router was super easy to do. The first one I ever bought was horrible and I was dreading the process of replacing it and trying to install it myself. My 9-year-old asked if she could help me with this new one and I told her it was going to be too hard. But when we opened the box and saw the very basic, easy to follow instructions, we had the whole thing up and running in less than 15 minutes -- this included not only setting up the laptop on the router, but also the blueray player. I would definitely recommend this router!

So I bought this router back in 2014 around June. The set up was confusing at first because I wasn't receiving any signals, but I later figured it out. Pros: I like that it gave my family a good amount of speed. We have slow internet and this was just on point. It's never hot so that was a good. Maybe warm but that's mostly it. Cons: The setup was a bit confusing but once you explore it a little more, you'll get the idea. Sometimes the router would need to be reset and it happens within the first 3 months or so. Once it's reset, then leave it alone. However, there will be multiple times where you need to reset it again. I think it lasted a fairly good life span up until now. It's been 7 months and the price was good for how it has preformed.

So far has not dropped on me, better range than my old cisco router. Lots of options for the advanced user but setup wizard makes it a breeze to setup. Works great with ps3 and for streaming movies.I have I hooked up to another wireless router by LAN to extend the range and it automatically configured the ip address to prevent duplicates which was a neat feature bc I'm a plug and play type of guy.

Bought this when I signed up for cable internet because it saved me $7/month for their equipment. This was so easy to set up, and now I can have 10+ users in my house logging on to a very secure, very fast wireless connection. Never had an interruption in service, never had any problem at all. The cable installer helped me set it up, which took about 2 minutes (compared to 45 minutes if you go through the Netgear installation CD's). Great equipment. I've only had it 1 month, so we'll see how durable it is..... but so far, it's great!
