Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. This replaced an aging Belkin Wireless-g I had for several years. The Netgear was an easy setup for anyone semi-versed in such a thing & the enclosed CD will help w/ the less tech savvy. Swapped into the home network easily. Can now run a Mac mini via AirPort and get a fast, solid Wireless N connection. Overall, internet is generally faster/more responsive over WiFi on the Mac now than it was wired when in conjunction w/ the old Belkin. Also a more solid WiFi connection to a Wii & iPod Touch - and noticeable improvement in the wired broadband connections to the DirecTv DVR & Panasonic BluRay player. WiFi signal extends out into both front & back yards - can surf the web on the iPod or laptop while chilling in the back yard - nice. Range on this is very good - certainly enough for the avg 2-4 bedroom 1 story home. In other words - this worked out great. Recommend for just about any home network.

This router was so easy to install for my home and my neighbor can even access my wireless network from over 1,000 feet away! There were visual directions with 2 sentence long explanations and in less than 20 minutes I had setup my router and connected several devices. It is also slim in design and hides behind chairs and desks. There is a pin number listed on the router that may be needed for guest devices, but security setup was easy.

I have used on of these for over 6 years, got the same for a friend and now one for the youngest girls new home. The coverage, setup and capacity work for all the secure WiFi we need for surfing, streaming, YouTube, and the like. Save some bucks and get one.

The router works well, the range is good in my home which is about 1,900 sq ft, and it's easy to use when you need to make a change. I like being able to have a guest network in addition to my main network, as I needed to add one for my kids older Nintendo's (as they only work with WEP and this router doesn't support WEP). So I created an open non broadcast network for that without access to my local network. Nice. The problem is setting it up. I work in IT and have set up many routers. This one was terrible due to the software. It tries to force you to use their wizard and the wizard could not see my cable modem connection. That took a while to troubleshoot. I wish I could have just used the old http://192.168.1.1 method but I tried and not until the end of the setup does the web interface work at all, it must be disabled. Finally, at the end of the wizard after fighting with it for who knows how long, it gave me the option to set it up manually. Very frustrating. After the router allowed me to go in and program it the old fashioned way life was good. Most users would not know how to spoof a MAC address and the wizard eventually tried to help me do that but it took a long long time to get there. It would have been nice to have a choice between their wizard and the manual setup.

Good Replacement for a failed router

I would reccomend this product on several notes. I replaced our other Netgear router that died after only one year. Netgear refused to help us. They wanted $140 for an additional 14 months of coverage. The former router was 2 days out of warranty. A plus to this routeris that is cokes with a lifetime warranty. It was extremely easy to set up being esentially the same as our other router, it covers our entire house. Our home is a duplex, Narrow and Long. I am very impressed with its range. A very nice looking router also. Its small and stays out of the way.

I have been shopping routers for a while now. Couldn't decide if I wanted this router or a $150 router. Took a chance with this one and I am very impressed. Easy setup and great performance. Be sure if you purchase a router that you are familiar with the type of encryption you try to use and what is compatable with your computers. Which leads to my next point, I had to call netgear to help setup my wifes computer and through a step-by-step process the technician was able to get me online no problem. Excellent product at an excellent price. Highly recommended.

This is our first router purchase for our home. We did research on different types and decided for the price, this was our best bet. Couldn't be more pleased. We have great range. Very simple to set up. Little to no intereference. Very, very simple to attach new hardware to the system. We use a PS3 and a laptop with no problems at all. It is very capable of having multiple systems running at the same time. We are well pleased with this purchase.

My brother moved out and needed a router. For the Price, this is perfect for what he needs. Signal was strong in his apartment and can support the devices he needed. In addition, its quite small which makes storing it that much easier. Ran speed tests, he was supposed to get 60mbs down and instead was able to get 65mbs, maybe an error but exactly what he should be getting. My one gripe is that the picture displayed does not match the actual product.

I've had this router for about 30 days. So far I haven't had any problems. My internet speed seems to be where it was prior to installation; no slow downs. I get great signal strength; keep in mind I'm in a two bedroom apartment. Installation was simple and fast with the CD. I don't know why others had hardships with installation. I'm satisfied thus far.

    EASY AS PIE!

I just bought this today. I brought it home, installed it, configured it and was up and running in about 20 minutes. (It would have taken even less time, but I had to rip my computer cabinet apart to fish the power cord through, etc...). I had an old wired router and I remember how much of a pain it was to make it work. I spent a LOT of time on the phone with tech support, tweaking settings, etc... with that device. This is my first wireless router, and I was expecting lots of problems on the install / configuration. I'm happy to report that this thing is 100% "plug and play." There are no complex settings and switches to configure, no IP addresses and other numbered sequences to enter. The install CD does it all for you, and it is in plain (non-techie) english. The instructions are brief, but completely adequate for hooking this up. I had a live internet connection on the first attempt, and my laptop was able to access the wireless network I created right away. It doesn't get any easier than this - TRUST ME - I was really dreading this, but it was sooooo simple! Maybe all wireless routers install this easily - I don't know. However, this one I can certainly recommend. I'm running a desktop with Windows XP via a wired connection, a Comcast cable modem, and I have a laptop (also Windows XP) which uses the wireless connection. I live in a small condo, so I can't testify as to the range, but it certainly gives me connectivity anywhere in my home. I'm happy with my purchase.

This was very easy to install and has a pretty good signal. Can get 2 out of 4 bars two stories above the router. So easy to get working I bought a second and hooked up my inlaws with wireless. I have a computer, PS3, WII, Ipod Touch, and two droid phones that are all using it and they all work great.

Unlike many other reviews, I did not spend more than 15 minutes to fully start using wireless internet in my home by following the step-by-step guide it comes with. I even customized the security settings and passwords to make it private network and it's beenm about 3-4 week that i bought this item...excellent price and looks!!!as well as signal...my cell phone, PS3 and Laptop have full signal no matter where I am in my house (upstairs and downstairs and even in my garage)
