Great product and great price!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is an excellent value. I have a 2000 sq ft home that is a two story and the signal is great in all areas of our house. My son plays ps3 online and xbox live. We also have two laptops. I am so pleased with the price and performance I had to write a review and highly recommend to others. Big bang for the buck!!!!!

Good router for the price, Best Value :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.honestly any router is an easy and quick one minute install! this router is fairly good for how much it costs. it's range could be a bit better but hey cant expect much from WPA2 for optimized speeds with the 802.11n, range goes further using 802.11 a/b/g by the way. all in all it's just another router with better pricing and ofcourse the 300mbps max is always an up if your speeds can go that high but any router is easy to install u just have to plug it up to the LAN and type in the gateway and boom! ur in the router! for any of you super newbs ;) save yourself the time and money of geek squad or installation disc

Great little wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup was relatively easy, and the worst thing about this item. The performance is excellent. The signal is strong, and easily covers the entire residence. Once you set it up, you can forget about it. The ability to serve up a guest network is a treasured feature.

Great Overall, Setup CD Not Vista x64 Compatible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this router is great. I haven't dropped a connection since I switched the channel over. Originally, I had it set up to channel 1, but everyone in my subdivision is on channel 1, so this caused lots of drops and interference. Switch to channel 11 if you experience drops. Big problem is that the software is not compatible with Vista 64 bit, so you have to use routerlogin.com to do the setup. Netgear support helped walk me through this, but had me set up WPA-PSK, which makes it harder to network in wireless printer, wii, etc, so I switched to WEP and everything connected just fine. Again, I like this router a lot, but setting it up is not for the novice, even if you use support, as they give you a super high-security setup, at the expense of ease of connectivity.

What a piece....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Netgear wireless routers previously with no issues. My previous Wireless router quit on us over the weekend (kept on rebooting itself). My wife and I decided to get another one from Best Buy. I saw this product and for the range and speed it stated the price wasn’t too bad. When I got home I hooked the router up, as normal and followed the setup as instructed. Once it said it was finished I disconnected my wired connection to test the wireless. Both my HP laptops, one with Windows XP SP3 and Vista could see the router, but when I entered the SSID code, it would connect but with limited connectivity. I went ahead and reset the router to do the install again, and the same issues. I proceeded to contact Netgear Support to assist me with the issue, and was put on hold for over 20 minutes until a support tech would help. Once I started to work with the support tech, she was very rude to talk to and was very hard to understand with her accent. I work in the service business for over 5 years and would never talk to a customer the way she did. I was very upset with the outcome. She basically stated that it wasn’t their problem, but I needed to contact my Internet provider. She then hung up on me and that is where the support ended. I contacted my ISP provider and did a system check and everything was operational. I boxed up the router and returning it to Best Buy for a different wireless router that will work with my Home network. I do not recommend this to anyone!!!!

Very good home network
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would say that this router took less then an hour to setup 2 laptops and 2 desktops. They were easy to connect and the instructions that were given made it easy to set up and secure a home network. My wife and I own a home with 3 floors. The family room where the router is located (which is in the basement) gives a great signal to the other two floors. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to buy a home network!!

GOOD WIFI MODULE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good for price. Easy to get going, took about 10 min. Took my laptop out in the hall and reaches quite a ways, at least 75 feet or more. All in all, a good unit.

Pleased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great in my 900sq foot apartment. I am able to get a great signal in every room. Set up/installation was extremely easy. I have multiple devices (PC, lap tops, gaming systems) and all can be online at the same time with perfect signal strength.

Good router for home use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router because the wireless router I had been using decided to die. This was not a surprise, as my routers seem to last about a year. That's right, in the last 8 years, I have had over 8 routers. Typically, what happens is that the wireless in them will quit functioning. It doesn't matter how many factory restores I do, the wireless network portion of the router tends to die before the rest of the router. But enough about the past. This time, I did some research, spent a little extra money, and made a good decision (the good decision being the purchase of an extended warranty). This router has wireless A/B/G/N, as well as 4 ethernet connections and 1 USB port. Setup was fairly simple, and everything ran as expected. That is, until you try to take advantage of the USB port. They allow you to plug-in a USB external hard drive to the router directly, thus creating a network storage drive for anyone on the network to read/write from. After setting it all up, I was excited to put the music from my computer onto the network USB drive and stream it to my PS3 in the living room. WOAH WOAH WOAH! Not so fast! This router's firmware supports STORING files, not streaming media to your devices! Much to my dismay, I realized I had been duped. But instead of giving up, I decided to look into it. Sure enough, after some research, I was happy to learn that this router is open source. That means you can install your own firmware on it! After some more research, I learned that what I was trying to do (add DLNA support) was a common request, and there were plenty of open-source options out there for me. In the end, I went with the open-source project "Tomato", which has all the same benefits as the original firmware (minus the guest wireless network). Speaking of which, the wireless feature to enable a guest network was pretty neat as well, thus protecting your personal network's data (and your network's passphrase) from visitors. But I would rather have DLNA support instead of a secondary wireless network. After all my tweaking and modifications, the only problem I have with the router is how slow the read/write access to the USB drive is. I get an average write speed of 1.8mbps via my Windows 7 machine, which seems pretty slow in comparison to today's normal ethernet & USB speeds.

Better than any comparable linksys product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the past I have owned severl linksys products that have only lasted me 15 maby 20 days without any problems. After that, it would suddenly show no signal on my lap top even while in the same room or I would always have to hit the reset button to bring the signal back up. After checking out the reviews on the Netgear Wireless-N Router (WNR2000), I decided to purchase it in April of 2009. Set up was a breeze and only took a few minutes and from that point on I have had ZERO problems with it since. I live in a 2 story home and the router is located on the second floor in a open living space. We have 3 laptops and a Mac using the router and I don't even notice any change in speed while browsing the internet. I have found this product to be worth the money and very reliable. I would highly recomend staying away from basically any Linksys product and stick with Netgear. I know I will.

A good, basic inexpensive router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first experience with a router. I needed a wireless router for my PS3 so I could access the internet for on-line gaming. On the recommendation from a BestBuy associate, I purchased the NetGear router. Set up was easy and only took a few minutes. I connected it to my AT&T DSL modem which is connected to my Mac computer. But after turning everything on (router and PS3) I still wasn't on-line with my PS3. After a couple of phone calls to AT&T and Netgear tech support, about 1 hour – most of the time on hold – I was on-line. Since then, it's preformed well. I've had to reboot the router once. It just went off-line. I'm assuming that's just the nature of the beast.

Good Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this cause my G wireless router from about 4-5 years died. Was able to hook it up and get it install in a couple minutes cause I knew what I was doing. The one minor problem was trying to hook up another computer to the network. It showed it found the network but wasn't letting me connect. After about 10minutes of trying different things and going back to the router I figured it out. I was able to connect a laptop in like 20 seconds. If someone with not much computer knowledge tried, I could see them not figuring it out. Even though I use a G adapter, I could notice the internet was a bit faster. I haven't used my PS3 yet, but was able to connect it to the network easily.

Great budget router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this router for 2 years now and have almost never had to reset or perform power cycle. Compared to other routers I have read about and heard about from friends, this one is truly outstanding in reliability. The range is quite decent, despite only needing it for apartments and a small home; I have always had very good or excellent signal in any part of the home. The throughput is also quite good, never seeming to slow down or much less lose connection. I have heard from friends and family about needing to constantly cycle power on their routers due to losing connection on their devices; not the case here. Streaming Netflix on two devices while browsing and downloading on two more simultaneously worked just fine.I would recommend this router to anyone who needs a simple and reliable single-band router.

Perfect for extending wireless in a large home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is perfect for extending primary wireless AP using a network cable. You can put this router into wireless AP mode and connect a cable to the WAN port to extend your home wifi network. I returned a more expensive Netgear "extender". This one is perfect for this purpose and is simple to setup. Great value! I use this with a Gigabit Netgear wireless router as the primary.... I have both setup with the same SSID on different channels, so no reconfiguration of tablets/laptops is necessary and not changing connections manually.

For all those who give this bad reviews.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off most of you that are giving this a bad review should never try to touch newer technology. Anyone that knows anything about computers knows you never and I mean NEVER use the factory setup disc for installing and setting up a router. Second If you dont know how to setup a router without the disc then pay bestbuy or someone else for that matter that does know what they are doing. I have been working with computers since 93 and I have setup more routers then I care to count. I have used all brands and I have had better luck and performance out of the netgear routers then the linksys(Cisco). Granted all will have ups and downs but i have had far less downs with netgear. I personaly have this exact router at my house and I can pick up my network 4 houses away. My linksys that got replaced I had trouble getting signal in my own driveway 30 feet from the router itself.

Excellent Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not an IT or network expert. I'm more of a novice. I'm so glad I chose this product for the price as well as the ease of setting it up. I had it up and running in no time. I was a little leary of the no CD installation but I had no issues at all. After installing, I was able to use it right away. I'd recommend this item for beginners and novice.
