Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. easy to set up your own network on this router.Just follow the directions and a few minutes later your set up.I installed mine and set up my laptop and PS3 and a desktop in about 10 minutes. It looks to be made cheap, but works like a charm so far.I would recommend this router to anyone.

I am not one to write reviews, but I like to read them. I did not read any about this product before I bought it, but I had a Netgear before, so I knew a little of what I was looking for. The salesman at Best Buy was very helpful, but a little pushy, trying to get me to buy the next model up-$30 more. I knew the router was an upgrade from what I had-I bought it in Jan. 2005, so I thought this one would be okay for me. He was also pushy about the Geek Squad installing it for me, even though I told him I did it myself last time. Turns out I was right, the install went fast and easy, everything connected-so far-without a hitch. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't know more about electronics than most men I know! You don't need to spend the extra money and you don't need the Geek Squad!

    The one that WORKS

Upon various recommendations, I tried three different brands, this is the only one that works. Difficulty here is cement walls, more than physical distance. Javier of Best Buy was "right on" in recommnding this Netgear product. Easiest of the three to install, and only one that actually works as advertised (maybe better), thus the only product with "value".

I have had some older Linksys routers and Microsoft routers before and this one is by far easier to setup and better performance then the ones I have used in the past. I am running wireless G and it works very well, can't wait to get some N devices other than my XBox 360, which works perfect thru this router. Overall, I would buy this router again.

I bought the router because our old netgear router stopped working after many years. It works great and was easy to set up. We love it. The wifi is slower in the bedrooms because the router is in our living room, but it still works fine.

My previous experience is with both linksys and dlink. I was seriously considering a linksys until I found out they are operated by cisco systems (Just try to get any help after 90 days without paying for it). I hated my dlink because not only did I have to install Network Magic but also was very difficult to add devices (and I am not a 40 or 50 something without tech savy). Then I brought this Netgear. Love it. I was up and running in ~5 minutes. I own a labtop and a xbox 360. No issues at all. I am really looking forward to adding two itouches and another labtop/desktop to my network. The only issue I encounter is some lag when I browse or stream video on the internet while I am gaming due to the priority my labtop has. This would be easily resolved with a higher internet connection (currently @ 7 Mbps). The router also displays great range. It is placed at one end of my apartment and I have excellent connectivity to my far bedroom (1000 sq ft).

This router is easy to set up and use. It has a guest wireless account so we don't have to compromise our network when visitors need access. I have used many different routers and this one has been the most reliable so far. The only shortfall is that it is not wall mountable.

This router worked perfectly right out of the box. It took all of about 15 minutes to get this out of the box, set up, secured, and connecting to all the devices I needed it for. The signal strength and speed are top notch for my home - but I live in a small ranch. My only complaint is that they seem overpriced - but it does what it's suppose to do.

Easy install and works great. I had a router that was about 10 years old. It started frequently dropping my internet connection. I replaced it with the Netgear router and could not believe how much faster my internet connection was. I didn't know my router could slow down my connection. I wish I had replaced it sooner.

    NETGEAR ONE MORE CHANCE!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently had the more expensive dual band Netgear N600 (WNDR3400-100NAS), until it started dropping my entire Network when ever one of my Wifi Laptops access my LAN. I would have to turn Off/On the my wifi router and could only use one computer at a time to maintain a stable internet connection; I had 7 devices connected at the same time before with no problems. Then the drops began, It was so annoying! I loved the dual band and smart antenna design which gave me trouble free connections even with all the wireless phones and other devices in my house, that was never a issue. NOW because my OLD device "N600" is giving me trouble dropping my internet connection, I had to take a chance and down grade on the N300 Model to save money. Set up was very easy, however had trouble connecting my wifi devices! After setting up my password on the N300, all my laptops had a hard time authenticating the password and would timeout. I got soooooo annoyed, thinking the N300 was defective but discovered it was a CHANNEL issue!!! It was set for AUTO, but for some reason the N300 was having trouble syncing. My devices could see the N300 but could not connect. I was so spoiled with the N600 MIMO smart antenna I did not realized the N300 would have this kind of an issue. Thats its biggest drawback aside from not being a dual band, 2.4Ghz and a 5Ghz frequency, but I guess you get what you pay for. I'll miss that feature, but I did not want to spend to much money AGAIN! I went with the N300 because of all the 5 Star reviews, and was weary of all the 1 star reviews. I don't want another failing product!!! For now we'll see, but if this fails IM NEVER GOING WITH NETGEAR AGAIN!!!! I will update my review if it craps out!

We've had 3 routers before purchasing this Netgear wireless router and had trouble in some area or another with them all and either had to return them or tossed them out in the trash. I'm so glad we finally found one that works and was very easy to install! It's nice not to be stuck in one room of the house. I can once again multitask!!

Looking for a mid-range N router, this thing fit the bill. The setup was extremely easy giving even the most novice computer user a quick and simple setup. From what I've used so far, the signal strength is better than expected and the support for WPS is great too.

Don't Install If a Tech Beginner!

I am, by no means, a tech whiz. Never have been, never will. So, when I purchased this, I was told I would just plug it up to my computer, and, boom, success! That isn't what I got... As soon as I plugged it in to my computer, I lost my Internet connection entirely -on both the laptop and the desktop -and the security system didn't recognize it. In order to get it to finally work, I had to call my Internet provider, Time Warner, and go through a phone tree until I could find someone who could explain the process to fix it to me. I had to add more bandwidth, which I didn't expect, and had to go through heck trying to understand all the techy directions. Oh, well... At least the router does it job now that it has been set up properly, and it does it marvelously. Minus my troubles at the start, I am pleased with the strength of my Internet connection.

    Flawless Setup - Works perfectly

My old Linksys 802.11b router has been malfunctioning lately so I went to Best Buy today and purchased a new Linksys wireless N router. What a mistake! After not one but TWO returns, I decided to go with this Netgear wireless N router and I could not be more pleased. Unlike the Linksys, this router had a very detailed, straightforward, step by step set up process that actually worked. There was some wait time in between steps, but everything worked perfectly and the router was set up in under 30 minutes. Once I had it set up with my 5+ year-old HP desktop, connecting my new PC laptop and MacBook was just a matter of typing in my password. I especially liked that the install process for this router, unlike the Linksys, included automatically looking for updates to the firmware and installing the update. You can configure the router utility to automatically check for firmware updates every time you open it as well. That's a very useful feature. I also like that it has an on/off button on the back so I can easily turn it off at night without having to unplug it and have the plug fall behind the computer, etc. It has only been up and running for an hour now, but so far there have been zero problems.

I got this device to replace my old router. My home is a large colonial and I have 4 devices plus connecting to this continuously. It was easy to install and up and running in no time! I am a semi techi person but even if I weren't as knowledgeable it's so easy to install. Product works great and I haven't had a drop signal yet!

Got this at best buy for a very reasonable price when I was looking to replace a brighthouse wireless router that I had to reset on a regular basis. I have had this for over a month without one reset required. I also like the computer user interface to the router - very easy to use and helpful.a good value for the money

Hooked it up about a month ago, and so far this product has been great. Instillation didn't take very long. We have a townhouse, and can use our computers downstairs and in our rooms upstairs. It was recommended by an employee at BB, so I hope it lasts us a while!
