Works better than Linksys
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had too many problems with the linksys that I had. And decided to buy this Netgear. Setup was easy. And it works excellent compared to the more expensive dual linksys that i had. Will highly recommend

Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes I'm another one of those people who have never written a product review until now but I had to recommend this router. I needed a router to hook up our new PS3 to the internet along with our PC desktop. I previously had purchased two other routers (both different brands and not Netgear) for this purpose and after a nightmare of 1-2 hours each of customer phone support to try and configure them I was told both routers were defective and to return them to their place of purchase. I brought this Netgear router home expecting the worse but was absolutely blown away by how easy set-up and installation was. I put the CD in, followed the directions, and in 5 minutes (without having to configure anything) our computer was online through the router. I next turned on our PS3 and followed the Sony instructions manual on how to connect the PS3 to a router and in 5 minutes our PS3 was online.

Stable, fast, with great range!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This set up quickly and has been stable and fast since the beginning. I've set it up in a small studio apartment but I can even go outside the apartment building and sit outside with a fast stable connection at more than 30 yards outside the window.

Works very well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The NETGEAR N300 Wireless-N Router with 4-port Ethernet Switch works very well. Reaches all over my house (2,000 sq ft, two story). Speeds are quick. Overall - highly recommend, and I got it on sale, so the price was right. And easy to set up.

Average Home Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is router is an average router with decent range. If you are going to be using for web surfing then I would recommend this. If you will be using it for video streaming and downloading I would get another router.

Great for the novice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product almost 2 years ago. I am computer savvy but not so good with networking. I never networked my computers before. I always had my brother do it since he's the one with the computer science degree in networking. I didn't want to break the bank since I was just trying to get both my wife and I on the internet with our laptops. We originally had a desk top with an ethernet cable. Not knowing what I was doing, I did some research an found some good reviews with this router. So I bought it. Upon opening, I read and re-read the instructions carefully but I messed something up. I can't remember what it was but I did. So, I called customer support. They walked me through the steps to pinpoint where I messed up. I "fat fingered" a key and that was all it took. Fortunately, i was back on track and we were on line. Here I am almost 2 years later and still using the same router. We have moved since the purchase and my networking knowledge is a "working knowledge" level, at best. Now with 4 laptops (2 PC and 2 Mac's), a wireless all-in-one printer/copier/fax, VOIP and several smartphones later ... the router is still doing fine. This is a user friendly router and if you do manage to "booger" up something, technical support is there to guide you through everything.

Best Router for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router replaced a 4 year old linksys router which pooped out on me. This router was recommended by a Best Buy employee. It works like he said it would. The signal is strong with an easy installation process. I can't ask for anything more....

Drops Internet connection too often
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return this one as it would not keep the Internet connection. I saw many drops per day in the cable modem log, which explained the download interruption errors. I wanted this one based on a previous router from Netgear and the same feature in this one to block certain sites. The Netgear Genie software reflects incorrect settings and staus compared to the web-based config interface. Netgear Geanie has to be downloaded separately. Parental controls require 3rd party software / registration

Set Up Complexities
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disk set up and physical set up easy. Two computers with wired connections immediately connected, as did i-pad wirelessly. However, LG blue-ray we had been using for streaming Netflix, U Tube etc. would not connect to router via automatic "dynamic" set up. A long set of talks with Comcast and LG did not solve the problem, and first try at Netgear tech assist did not either. However, second Netgear technican did give me "static" codes to put into blue-ray set up which worked. So, depending on what all is on your network, be ready to interact with Netgear assistance. Their e-mail help system is good and easy to use, but may take a couople of tries.

One of the Easiest Routers to Install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the fifth router I've installed since I've been dealing with home networks since 2003, and I have to say that this one was by far the easiest to install. You follow the quick start guide by hooking up the equipment and powering them on when instructed. Put the included disk in the CD drive and follow the instruction, clicking on the appropriate box and/or bubble...very easy. The wired performance is excellent and the wireless range is 3 to 5 times better than the router this one replaced (a Netgear WPN824 v2). The router is in the basement of my ranch style house (1300 sq. feet), and I get a strong to full strength signal everywhere in my house. My only knock on this product is the stand. The stand is absolutely worthless when you have more than a few cables plugged into the unit. I had to lay the unit on its side, not a big deal.

Great Performance. Zero Issues!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this NETGEAR router for my apartment studio, and it was very easy to install. I connected it directly to the ethernet cable with internet connection and used the resource CD included, following the instructions on the booklet. I have used the Wi-Fi for 2 laptops and one smart phone and had no problems so far. Excellent performance for a reasonable price. I would recommend it over another brand.

So easy to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After struggling, and struggling to get my Linksys set up, I decided to ditch it and buy a new router. Netgear was suggested by 2 people that have a little computer savvy. I'm really not sure how anyone could possibly have trouble getting this set up, as I saw on some of the reviews. I am really computer illiterate, but I had this up and running in all of 5 minutes. I haven't had it long enough to know if it's going to have problems, but at this moment, I am a very happy camper!

Had it buy it to use Netgear Extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easiest way to start a network but if you start using Netgear items you are pretty stuck with using Netgear Addons Good range, at least it gets to my extender with 95-100% of it's 150 but that doesn't seem to support HD streaming very well.

Works Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup was quick and painless. My only issue was connecting my wireless printer. I had it going after performing an uninstall, then reinstalling the driver took 15 minutes that I wasn't expecting. This router also gets great range and speed.

Great product for value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mainly because I didnt have the $200 for an Apple router to go with my MacBook. But it works great! I have my entire network connected and the range is amazing. I can be anywhere in my house, patio and even garage and have signal. I highly recommend this product. my only advice is DO NOT use the installation CD that comes with the router, use the Netgear website and you'll be able to set-up faster and with no problems. I was experiencing problems trying to set it up using the CD because it would connect but after 2 days of battling with it I decided to use the website instead of the CD and had my entire network running in less than 5 mintues

works great, very fast!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been compltely satisfied with this router, works great. I did an internet speed test with my wireless notebook and it clocked the same speed as my desktop which is hardwired to the internet. Very satisfied and easy to install.

Great for home use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this router is great for home use. I'm not very technical, but this router works great in out 2 story home. I can use my laptop anywhere in the house. I haven't tried outside yet, due to the cold weather. Easy to set up too.
