Our old Lynksys router stopped working so we needed a new one. Searched online and although this product had mixed reviews, they were mostly positive and it was on sale so gave it a try. Well, I couldn't be happier. It was easier to install and set up than I ever expected. I have multiple PC laptops, a mac laptop and a mac desktop. All found the wireless and connected with no problems whatsoever. The instructions were easy to follow. Do not hesitate to go with this router.

Used this to connect our network and it was simplistic to install and connected right away. Great value and doesn't waste you time with a difficult install.

I purchased this to use with my Kindle Fire HD back in December. I used it for a couple weeks with no problem, then it wouldn't connect with my Kindle anymore. I changed the username and password for the Wi-Fi and all was well again, for a while. Here I am a month later having issues again and I have tried everything. I am returning to the store tonight to buy a different brand. When it is connected, it works great, BUT it is really frustrating when it doesn't because there is no reason why it shouldn't be connecting. I know there are a lot of good reviews, and that is awesome for those people, but I didn't have a good experience with this product.

I use this router in an area of high wireless traffic, at least 20+ Wireless networks in the area. It is great to have the 5.0GHz band for these areas. If you are using the 2.4GHz band and not next to the router, the signal becomes glitchy (only in highly populated wireless areas, as with most routers). Other then that the setup page (via internet browser) is easy to use and navigate. All the options i have come to expect from routers are there...

Bought this router to set up for a friend. I'd tried some others both at my house and at hers and they would not set up. Plugged it up and had it running in 15 minutes. Got the laptop set up to work with it with no problems at all. This is how it should be. This is a very simple router that can be set up by anyone without assistance from a "tech person". No cons so far.

It has been a great router thus far. When I thought I had done everything right, I kept getting kicked off the network. I then called Netgear customer service and the individual I talked with was quite helpful. He was able to walk me through the entire set-up. The problem was with the security setting I chose and he quickly fixed it. It has now been working great. I have my computer, my fiance's computer and my PS3 networked with it and it runs just as fast as with only one with it. I would strongly recommend this product, but just be patient with the set-up.

I bought this to replace an old NetGear router (N150) that, after a number of years of constant use, was needing to be reset once or twice daily. I'm pretty tech savvy, but I actually caught one of the Geek Squad members in the aisle and asked for his opinion on "affordable" routers for the typical tech family, and without reservation he led me straight to this product. Although I was hoping for something under $40, this was on sale for $45, and his recommendation was enthusiastic enough to convince me. After getting home, here's what I discovered: 1) Physical set-up was a breeze. The instructions were very clear and detailed. Physical set-up was complete in less than 5 minutes, even with routing the ethernet and power cables. 2) Network set-up was a breeze. This is the easiest admin interface I've come across to date, with options for simple or advanced menus, and I had the 'net flowing through in another 5 minutes. It also had a notification bar that notified me the firmware was out of date and asking if I'd like to update it. One click of the button, another 3 mins or so, and all was done. 3) It's secure out of the box. I chose to rename the displayed network name and password, but even without doing that, the unit has a pre-assigned network name and random password already, so for those who don't want to mess with those settings, no problem! No need to worry about the neighbors leeching your bandwidth! 4) EASY to set-up guest network and parental controls. We don't use these options, but I messed around with them anyway (typical geek) and they're a breeze! 5) SOLID signal throughout the house! The old router would fade in some areas, but not this one. Plus, within another 5 minutes, I had 2 iPhones, an Android, an iPad, a laptop and the Wii all tied in to the network and running simultaneously (stress test!), all flowing without a hitch. The old router tried to prioritize connections and sometimes "paused" one here and there, but this router handled it all with ease. With a kid watching YouTube, another watching NetFlix on the Wii, me streaming a ball game online, and the wife checking facebook... well, all were happy! Obviously, I can't speak for the longevity yet, but for the "out of box" experience, I'm thrilled. Fair price for a great product!

Got this on Black Friday. Thought $50 bucks for Wireless N speed? Sold. Whoops. Right out of the box, it doesn't support Windows 7. OK, I'll just go and download the right program from their site...It's not clearly labeled and it took me a 15 mins just to try to find something that MIGHT work. Customer Service is insulting and rude at best. They wanted me to believe i should be thankful that i get 90 days free support, but after that they charge almost $50 per incident you need help with....and they want you to call them with ANY electronics problems from Xbox to Windows. LOL. Anyway, my specific problem was that although my network was "connected" i wasn't getting any internet. for some reason, it kept dropping me. Obviously Customer service wasn't much help. It isn't my cable internet, because I never had a problem before this. I returned it and went right back to my Linksys router's I have never had trouble with. Should stay away if not for performance, then certainly for their customer service.
