Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

Just as good as a $200 router.

I have 2 of these in different homes, one brand new, the other 5 years old. Plug it in, done. Cover's an entire house just fine. Not sure what issues people are having. Why pay more when you will never achieve speeds beyond 300mbps - you only need 10mbps for HD movies via Netflix and most people have 50mbps from their internet provider, and most servers like Netflix or Hulu don't even stream that fast anyway. So unless you need to cover a 3 story house, or have 4 people who all stream different movies at the same time, or need to cover an acre of land, this is all an average consumer will ever need, and it's only $25. Don't get fooled by the expensive models.

I needed a wireless router for my 2 story home. I was a bit concerned when I read that this router was for small places, but no need to worry. I can go upstairs and downstairs and have full coverage. Setup was simple and I was running in less than 10 minutes. This is a great value!

Our household is currently without internet, but with 4 Macs under the roof (one of which with no airport card) I wanted a hub for a LAN (no internet for the time being). So i purchased this router. I have it set up next to an old iMac via Ethernet cable, and the other 3 laptops in the house are connected to the LAN wirelessly via their airport cards. It's performing quite well providing a connection for file sharing to all computers and my airport express connected to the wireless network providing all the computers with the ability to stream music over airtunes to my stereo system. Good Product, What it does it does well, but for 90 dollars I would have liked to have seen the ability to connect to an existing wireless network like the airport expresses are capable of.

Great, my 3rd Netgear Router, EZ setup

I'm not an IT guru, but fairly competent w/PCs and Macs. I've always felt the Netgear line is one of the most user friendly installation wifi routers available. I've only had one fail and that was after a year's solid use. Another is about 4 years old and still in use in my son's home.

I am very happy the gentleman at Best Buy told me about this router and I purchased it. It has worked great for me since the first day I hooked it up. I can get internet anywhere in my house and that includes my basement. Excellent router would highly recommend it and will. Thanks

The product worked really well with minimal fuss. Set up was only so so. No other documentation in the box to allow a manual configuration. But was easy to find a how to on the net gear website. this info should have been included in the box. rotuer ip address, default passwords etc...

This was a true plug and play. I even got the security set without difficulty. Only problem was the DVD player I was trying to hook-up, but the problem was easily fixed with a 5 minute call to the Insignia help line.

The hardware is great. Our house is rather large. The previous LinkSys device was insufficient. The Netgear Wireless is awesome. But better than the hardware was the Geek Squad guy who set it up for us. We now have 5 computers and two printers talking to each other without a hitch.

As someone who does a lot of online gaming on Xbox Live but doesn't want to shell out an extra 30 bucks for the N600, this router is perfect. Easy to set up and so far in a month, no connections have been lost. This is perfect a college dorm or an apartment.

I had to replace my 7 year old router which was also by netgear. This one was very easy to setup and I was able to set it to use my existing router name. It took me about 5 minutes to get it up and running.

This router was pretty easy to connect and has been working well. For the price I think it was a good router. I only use the internet for online classes and browsing the web.

Nothing was wrong with my old router but thought maybe I could get better speed since I have several computers now. I have not noticed any better speed. And this may be a coincidence, something different with my ISP, or maybe something new starting to happen with my Motorolla modem but I find I keep losing connection to the Internet and I have to reset both the modem and the router since putting in this new router. Is this the routers fault? I don't know how to figure it out but before the new router I only reset once every 2 or 3 months, now I have to reset 2 to 3 times a week.

This wireless router works great. Fast and reliable connection. Easy to install and I have yet to have any problems with it. I did try to call NETGEAR Customer Service, that is a whole different rating ....not well at all, I never got anyone on the line.

    Returned two hours after purchase

My current wireless router was in need of replacement being almost 10 years old. I saw this online and after some research thought it would be a good purchase. Drove to the store, picked it up, and brought it home. First of all the unit pictured is not the unit. The unit is very small. I followed all the instructions to make sure I was connecting it properly. The wireless would not work but the wired connection did. The website you can use to connect to the router, which is on a sticker on the back of the unit and in the manual, to change it's setting would not work. So I downloaded the Netgear Genie app that was advertised on the box to help access the router's settings. The router is not supported by the app, of course. I finally tried the reset button to just wipe it clean and start over, maybe I did something wrong. The reset button doesn't work. Two hours after purchase, it went back.

Great low price and easier to install than comparable units. Press the WIFI button on unit then grab your laptop and type in provided network password and your connected. Works great for gaming too.

It has a great range and connects solidly to my daughter's laptop, my son's Nintendo DSi and 3DS, as well as our Wii. The fact that it also has four ethernet ports gives us the welcome option of physically plugging in the two computers that are located nearby.
