Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

Died at 6 mos, won't support warrenty

I bought this router and was very pleased with the easy setup and slick appearance. The onboard firmware and configuration web-page were easy to use yet gave good flexibility when I set it up for gaming uses. After 6 months all the lights on the front turn solid and stayed on and the router no longer allowed any connection to the internet. I tried it on several PCs and at a friends house, but the unit is dead. This kind of thing happens from time to time, so I confirmed it was still within the 1-year warrenty and contacted their support. Their support informed me that after three months they would only honor the warrenty if I paid a service fee to have the unit looked at. I clarified that I still had 6 months in my warranty period and they told me that only applies to hardware. When I pointed out the unit wasn't working and the lights all being on they said they were not able to troubleshoot with me over the phone unless I paid a fee.

    Very Frustrating

I purchased my first laptop and this wireless router at the same time. The router was easy to install for a novice, but would not hold connection. I called the help line of the Geek Squad who walked me through the process to Reboot and that worked for a day. After doing this at tleast once a day and sometimes three times a day, my internet provider came to my home and replaced my modem. I still continued to have problems so I exchanged the router for a new one. With new router installed, I could not hold connection even with computer in the same room. I contacted Neatgear 3 times and they had me change settings but that did not help. Thinking it might be the computer, I exchanged the laptop for a new one. This did not help. Finally after many call to The Geek Squad , Netgear and my internet provider, I exchanged the Netgear router for another brand. I have had No problems with connection since that time.

    QUIT WORKING AFTER 5 MONTHS

I have a BS in Computer Science and generally have no issues with any simple network setup or operation. After 5 months the router stops working and after a reset back to factory defaults the router will not complete the setup because it says there is no internet connectivity. Knowing that my internet is working i call for support/ a replacement. First hard to understand support agent sent me to second rude agent who told me that he knew it was a software issue and if we would just pay he would tell us how to fix it, i told him i was not paying and I needed to talk to his supervisor, he then told me to listen to him he knew what he was talking about and just pay to get it fixed, but he would transfer me for a one time free support call, he then hung up on me. The second call got another rude support person who i finally told i was just gonna throw this unit away and get another brand. She then told me that all I needed to do was hold the reset button down then go to the support site, download a new firmware version and follow the instructions to update the firmware and it would work. The first agent could have told me the solution and made this upgrade much easier. As far as the router goes it works great, but do they have code written into the units to self destruct and force an inexperienced user to pay for tech support or a new unit?

    Didn't achieve my needs

Went looking for a wireless network extender. Salesperson (Kenny) said that if my current router was old (8 years) that I didn't need an extender, a new router would do the trick and be cheaper. Set up was easy. However, the product did not extend my range, and had to be rebooted at least once a day. Netgear has some problems they need to get worked out. I won't be buying another one.

Bought a D link DIR-615 to begin with. Horrible experience with it. Did not configure properly. Spent 1 hour on phone with tech, still did not work. Tried this product, very happy. Configured great, walked you through installation, works great with Vista, and Verizon DSL. Should have bought it first. Bought it and love it. Highly recommend.

We purchased this router for my dad. He loves it ! Now when we visit him, we can all get our electronics working on WiFi. We installed it in about 15 minutes. The directions were easy to understand. And he can use his new iPad anywhere in the condo.

Purchased this item to replace Netgear G router, which was very good, but lacked range. This router was not compatible with my Mac. I had to go on-line and call service by telephone, but was not easy to install. Router would lose connection at least once a week. I would have to reconnect via cable and re-install again. Always required aid of Netgear customer service. Customer service very difficult to understand (heavy Indian accent). I would not recommend this router to anyone.

Now that the router is up and running it works great. The set-up, however, took being on the phone with Netgear customer service for a couple of hours. Hopefullly the set-up isn't always that difficult.

I had trouble getting my wireless devices to acknowledge the netgear router. I had to get help from Comcast in order to get my laptop and android to log on. My android loses the router, but the problem may be the android tablet and not the router.
