Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

I spoke to a rep in the store and he knew a lot about the routers. I felt comfortable with the purchase because of the information I had previously not considered. The sales rep was very helpful.

I am very impressed with the personel at the Bell Best Buy. They advised me of my choices which turned out to be the very one my son suggested. No pressure sales and patient with older person. Keep up the good work. By the way the router is working great!

This thing works great. I plugged it in, set up the security and everything connects without problems. No dropped signals or disconnections like the Belkin.

I don't know a router from a modem. Had the geek squak come to install and make sure all of our home computers, copiers, Nooks...et all were hooked up to wireless. So far so good! And the signal hasn't interrupted any other electronics in my home/office.

It does not work with 2010 or later equipement

When I called tech support they told me that it is a system issue with all of the items I own (2 new laptops, blackberry, iPod Touch, wireless printer). It is not their fault and that they are well aware of the issues and know how to fix it. Ok. for the tech support, I purchased their plan. What a joke!! I was one hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Then hung up on and put on hold again. "I will wait until a tech speaks to you." 30 minutes later I hung up. I have a timer on the phone, so I can unfortunately see how long it has been. I had checked out Netgear on Consumer Reports and they are rated well. But this is for their higher valued items. I guess the under $60 crowd is just bad stuff. I should have read reviews on here first and gotten a better understanding of what I was getting into.

    Do Not Buy

Installed easily. Then came the problems. I bought this router on Dec. 28th and the very next day the problems started. Every day or two at the most I would be online and loose internet connection. I would then have to power cycle the router to regain connection. I called tech support from Netgear and spent 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with them taking control of my computer, telling me I wouldn't have that problem again. Wrong, every day or two it would happen again. I've called their customer support a total of 5 times spending a total of over 4 hrs on the phone, which is a cell phone that costs me anytime minutes. I was finally told on Feb. 29 They would send me a new router, however, I have to at my cost send them the router I have and wait for them to send me a new one. This after spending so much of my time trying to fix their screwed up piece of technology. I would not recommend buying this router or any other Netgear product because if you have a problem tech support will put you to work trying to fix their product until you can't take it anymore. They drove me mad trying to fix this router, that didn't happen and I can't afford to sent it to them so I guess i'm stuck power cycling my router every day or two until I can afford to buy a new one from another company. DO NOT BUY!!!

Autonegotiation problem w/ Nortel ethernet switch

    Posted .

I purchased this router as a replacement for a Linksys. The link to my cable modem passes through a Nortel 450T ethernet switch for traffic monitoring. It was found that there is a problem with the autonegotiation on the WAN port. The negotiation to 100M Full Duplex leaves the interface unable to send a DHCP request. The router does not acquire an address and so the internet connection does not come up. For direct connect this is not a problem but if you pass your internet through a device for monitoring it is likely you will hit this issue.

do not use this if you are planing to use ipod touch or PSP or PS3 or Wiii. You will have to continue to reset this router if you use those products.

I bought this one for a change, I used to have Linksys, I am a Computer Professional, and cannot see big difference between this one and linksys yet, linksys was easier to set up. but as I said, I like to change as long as it is equal or better quality.

    NETGEAR WNR2000 Wireless Router

Hooked it up in a couple of minutes and works great with my laptop on another floor and my Wii in another room. What a relief after spending a week trying to get a Linksys WRT-160N Wireless N Router to work and dealing with their terrible Tech Support.

The Geek Squad installed it, but it's still difficult to get the printer to work every time. My printer has to be in another room because of a phone hook-up is necessary for fax use.

Don't Waste Your Money On This!

When the D Link router I had for 3 years stopped working I bought this router, the Netgear N300. Right off the bat it wouldn't work. After a few hours I finally got it to connect only for it to disconnect 10 minutes later. I called my Internet company to make sure there wasn't a problem on their end or with my modem; nope, everything was fine. I called Netgear and spent an hour on the phone with some guy with a thick accent I could barely understand, all for nothing. As a last ditch effort, I hooked up my old computer and after an hour it FINALLY connected. It stayed connected and was connected when I went to sleep. I wake up the next morning and it wasn't connected anymore. I give up. I'm returning this piece of garbage and buying either another D Link or a Lynksies router. Netgear makes the WORST products I've ever had the displeasure of owning. Do yourself a favor and don't buy any Netgear product. Spend the extra money on a brand that actually works!

Easy set up just had to go into admin settings for the name of network to be changed but customer service was happy to talk you through it. Every object seemed to recognize the router well and has worked perfectly since the installation.

Not Great for the beginner, it was hard to set up, “ I work for at&t” if you are a tecno geek np, but for the average person it is difficult, make sure you now your service providers ip address and what your sub mask is, if not lots of luck!

Great wireless router for home network use. I had a very old one and I'm very happy I bought this particular new one. I have several machines and a printer hooked up via this wireless router and it's easy to add anything that is wireless.

    Unable to gain internet access.

While the wireless router is outwardly a well-crafted device, offered at an excellent price, the instructions for connecting it to my Asus notebook and home broadband setup (through my local phone company), were inadequate. After spending some two hours attempting to set it up, which involved calling both the phone company and Netgear's customer service--all to no avail--I returned the item to Best Buy. Apparently, an involved notebook reconfiguration is required that goes beyond a casual user's ability to sort out.
