Customers are saying

Customers value the Wireless-N Router's ease of use, performance, and affordable price. Many appreciate its strong signal and wide range, making setup and daily use convenient. While some experienced connection difficulties or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative. The router's compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

Not amazingly fast but it works for what we need. The router does exactly what the store employee said it would.

Its an internet router for a small house. The only thing its supposed to do is provide internet wifi access. Does that well.

I bought the Net Gear router and it was the worse ever. I made sure I bought what was supposed to be the good one with a broader band. I was excited about the price because the original one I was going to purchase was more expensive. The set up was easy. Unfortunately, it couldn't hold a signal. Whether I was in the same room or a different room it would constantly cut off. I found myself restarting it every 15-30 minutes to get a steady signal. Finally, I couldn't take it I returned it to Best Buy 2 days later and got the router I was originally gonna get. It cost more money, but I have NEVER had a problem since I bought it 2 weeks ago. In this case, I figure you get what you pay for. I tried to get what was cheaper and ended up with cheap service.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. BB should better train employees. Was told by BB employee it was the easiest wireless router to install. He said software was included. No software comes with this router. It does not connect automatically to XP. Could not manually enter 14 digit password set by Netgear as XP would only allow entry of 13 digits in router key field. Without working computer, could not download software. Instructions included sparse - without connecting to the web, you cannot get to other software to connect it or other devices. Avoid this unless you want hours of grief. Almost five hours of trying was too much. Worked for under 30 minutes when finally connected. On restart, all was lost and could not reconnect. Netgear should provide drivers and diagnostics on disc instead of sending one who cannot reliably get to the web to online support. Disgusted by the experience.

Simple to install. Rarely, it seems like the speed slows depending on how many users at a time. Overall, satisfied with product.

I bought a router with Geek Squad installation and I am VERY glad I did. It took the pro an hour and a phone call to resolve a conflict and get the router working. With two computers and a small home business depending on the connection, I would have had to call for help and pay someone to come to get the conflict resolved.

Now my internet is cooking. I used an older router but didn't realise how slow it was. This one was easy to set up and the web controls makes secured log onto the router easy.

Though it takes twenty minutes to set it up. At the end, I have connection. They even have step by step instruction on troubleshooting connection. Basically, even Goofy can do it.

WAP and WAP-2 known to be defective

I have never before experienced a bad product from either Netgear or Best Buy, so I was surprised to discover that this router does not, and cannot, work properly with many B-type devices, in WPA or WPA2 modes. I tested everything, from configurations to other devices, before finally searching the web. That was when I discovered the defect. Apparently Netgear is well aware of it, but does nothing about it. This is an older router, in spite of the relatively high price at Best Buy. There is no firmware update to fix the issues with WPA and WPA2 modes. The router is ok for devices connected to the RJ-45 ports. It also works in WEP mode, which is easily hackable. But, it does not work at all for, several of my devices, in WPA or WPA2 mode. Unfortunately, I did not even test the router until I had owned it for more than 30 days, so I cannot even return it (sigh).

I'm new to wireless, so installation wasn't easy. It wasn't horrible either. I think if you were more familiar it would be a breeze. It works great so what else can I say.
